We went for breakfast this morning, it was our first time so I had no idea what to expect. They have a small operation, not a huge menu but everything was made fresh from scratch, including breads for their sandwiches and fresh home made pastries. My mom had tried the Dakota bread from her friend once so we had to get a loaf of that. They serve 100% pure Kauai Coffee which is awesome, and their pastry selections change daily. I definitely recommend this hole in the wall next time you want some local fresh bread and pastries in a cozy atmosphere with friendly Kauai hospitality. More...

This is the first time we've ordered from here. We come from Oahu, to work for the day and was looking for a place that delivers for lunch. We all ordered the classic turkey sandwich. Person on the phone who took our order was very friendly and helpful. We requested our order to be delivered by 11am. Our order came ON TIME! I gave it 4 stars because we thought the sandwhich was a little bit dry. Maybe next time I'll order extra mayo on the side! It was good though! More...

Been for sandwiches twice, I love bakery sandwich shops and this is on the lower end. Both times it wasn't crowded, but service was really slow. The flavors are middling, preferred the Cubano over the roast beef. They have a good chicken salad, but were out both of my last two trips, else I get a tub and eat it all by itself. More...

Fantastic bread company. Great tasting, fresh baked breads with lots of flavor options. One favorite of ours is the cinnamon chip loaf. A round loaf filled with cinnamon chips. Delicious fresh and any that may not be eaten right away makes some killer toast. I wish the prices and selections were better marked. That would make the experience easier and possibly increase sales as customers could see possible options that may not currently be displayed. More...

This is in no way a plug for Great Harvest in Newbury Park because I would never buy another thing from them after the owners wife insulted me and I had been a loyal customer for years. This IS a plug for GREAT HARVEST BREAD in Lihue, Kauii.  We stopped there in search of a good cup of coffee. You know how these breakfast places water down coffee.  Well, the coffee was rich and strong, just like I my prefer my coffee.  A breakfast item was suggested, an egg sandwiche, so I said, "Oh, what the heck. Let's give it a try".  Glad I did because it was the best egg sandwiche I ever had!  Fresh eggs, scrambled to perfection, with a piece of thin sliced grilled smokey ham, topped with cheddar cheese on the most fabulous bread, Dakota bread; a crunchy, healthy bread made with various seeds.  We didn't leave without grabbing some of those awesome peanut butter - choc chip cookies. I must also mention that the owners, Stanley and Christine, were the nicest people.Next time you are waiting for a flight out of Lihue, stop by GREAT HARVEST BREAD.  It's only 5 minutes from the airport. This bakery is good. It was my last stop before I had to fly home to Honolulu, and it was exactly what I needed. Husband got a sandwich, and I got a salad, which were both made to order, fresh, and really tasty. The bread they made is great: healthy, hearty, and have good options. Yummy generous samples.  We went in and chatted with the server who had made a couple spiders out of bread rolls, cute.  We tried the Wheat Cinnamon Chip bread, the Pesto cheese bread, the three berry with crumbles tart like dessert, and then the Pumpkin chocolate chip muffin.  Wow, the muffin tasted like pumpkin something that doesn't always happen, and the whole combination was moist and not too sweet, with the chips to break up the pumpkin taste.  The cinnamon chip was a delicious bread and with wheat flour it made it less sweet but still great!  Clean facility, busy people in the back, and good samples.  Happy with our experience! Great bread on Kauai at last! Got the Everything Bread which stayed fresh on the counter for a week, and made wonderful grilled cheese sandwiches. Great food, but my family is vegan and the bread had an egg wash over it, so we couldn't eat it. We instead got the grain bowl. Otherwise, it was great!
