This place is a hidden gem! I was in Miami for a quick layover and looked around for a breakfast spot before heading back out again. This tiny shop with a few tables was warmly managed by a lovely mother/daughter team. The joy for preparing food was tangible in this place. Come here. You won't be disappointed. Love this place! If you want real and great taste Dominican food this the place. The service is great! The owner is a believer in Jesus Christ! You can listen to Christian music while you eat. Finally a place that I can get food near to my roots. This is a Dominican Bakery cafe where I can get my Dominican breakfast ( Los tres golpes ) and anything such as cake or pastries that is made with natural ingredients and with lots of humbleness and love. The owner Carmelina is so nice and humble whose great to talk to as I had great conversations with her while I had a delicious breakfast. I discovered this place when I wanted to order a birthday cake for my mother. When I went to pick it up I ended up ordering sancocho which was the daily special, along with rice, red beans, and steak. The food tasted very authentic and full of flavor. They also had a good variety of breakfast options on their menu as well. The cake turned out delicious. My mother absolutely loved it and she's very picky with her cakes. The owner made sure it was exactly how I wanted detail to detail. If you are looking for authentic Dominican flavor for an affordable price, this is the place to go. If you are looking for an authentic Dominican spot in South Miami, this is the place to go. The food here is so home style, I thought my grandma was back there cooking. The owner is so nice and down to earth. I got their Wednesday special which is Mangu with salami, eggs and fried cheese and a morir soñando. The owner and staff are amazing and so sweet. Hidden gem. We came in at 1 asking for breakfast like a bunch of savages and they were willing to cook up anything we would've asked for. After getting a grip of ourselves we decided to have a couple of different pastries and some coffee and it was excellent. Highly recommended. My mom tried out this family business and bought us a very nice cake to celebrate my son's 1st Birthday. They did a wonderful job and the pineapple filling was new for me and very good. The cake was very light as well. They are very personable, but service is also quick.Worth a try! More...

This is my new favorite place to eat hands down!!!!! Stopped into this hole in the wall Dominican cafe and got blown away! ! I ordered the mangu, a traditional plate of plantain mash with eggs, ham and fried cheese to start, everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. I was no longer in America but in Dominican Republic! Phenomenal and delicious, a hidden paradise indeed. The owner herself Carmelina is hospitable and very passionate. The first course was a five star flavor bomb! Usually I would've left because my meal was over but I had to see what else was cooking! I ordered the abichuelas con dulce (sweet beans) a sweet creamy and delicious treat that added a touch of motherly love to my palate. It was so good I almost ate the cup it came in! I went ahead and ordered the chicken with rice and beans. While that was cooking I ordered a flan which couldn't have been better, texture and flavor were on point!!! I had given it five stars already but couldn't wait to taste the final course to decide. Finally it came, a perfect blend of love, culture and passion. Carmelina had outdone herself.
