Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Fredericksburg is a great place to learn Brazilian jiu-jitsu! The curriculum is well structured and easy for anybody to pick up and the school environment is very welcoming to learners of all skill levels, from black belts to first-time students! Billy is an outstanding teacher and has a way of explaining the techniques that makes it easy to follow and understand not just how to do a technique, but why you are doing the technique as well. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu techniques are always taught with self-defense in mind, as opposed to a sport mentality; in some classes, students train during simulated fight scenarios in order to learn to keep calm during situations where people start throwing punches. That's not something you'll find in other jiu-jitsu schools in the area! One final thing to mention is that due to the nature of jiu-jitsu, safety is a top priority at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Fredericksburg and it is not taken lightly. Billy is great and is basically a Gracie. He is focused on street awareness jiu jitsu. This is an excellent school to train at if you're looking to learn *self defense Gracie style* (not sport) jiu Jitsu in a non competitive environment. The best Jiu-Jitsu curriculum, style, way of teaching and learning on the planet! You have to come at least for a trial and try it out! I have tried many other martial arts and even Jit-Jitsu places and none even compare to the quality and experience and overall training methods and path of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu! We are now very blessed to have a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Certified Training Center in this area! And I can tell you I'm blown away by how great of an instructor Billy Grimm who leads this CTC is as well!
