Living life with Cerebral Palsy, by the age of 22 balance and flexibility seemed like something I might never have. All of that would soon change after going through the doors of Gracie Barra Rio Rancho. While any sort of Martial Art could seem intimidating and unknown in the beginning, the family of people here do not shy away from helping you through your Jiu Jitsu journey into understanding. At first I was strictly in Jiu Jitsu as an outlet of self defense. Now I feel like it's a way of life, and a stress relief. From the condition I was in when I first was in attendance to now, I am a new man all around. With wonderful coaches and Professors Gustavo and Joebe, Gracie Barra Rio Rancho is the place to be. I have been attending for three weeks now and it has been truly an amazing experience. I feel stronger, more flexible and I even sleep better at night and feel like I have more energy the next day plus I'm already loosing a little weight! Both professors are amazing teachers and there is a good general feeling of camaraderie throughout the class. Its great to have one hour out of the day when you can forget about all the stress of work and life and just grapple! I would highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to get in shape and learn valuable self-defense skills at the same time. More...

My son has been attending about 3 months now...He has Taekwondo experience but he badly needs some ground jiu jitsu techniques. This is the place to take him. He feels welcomed and the instructors are not only knowledgeable but very helpful and experienced with the kids. I like how organized the classes are and how clean the place is. I'll give it 5 stars. I grew up in a wonderful martial arts school and wanted the same for my child. Unfortunately we do not live near my school and so my husband and I searched far and wide for a school that was encouraging, supportive, and taught the kids the right way to use martial arts and how to be respectful of themselves and others. When looking for a school I searched far and wide. The professors are the great with kids and I never have had a bad experience. My son has been train for 6 and a half years and I have just as many years. Almost half way through our training we found GBRR. They welcomed us with open arms and we felt like family off the bat.
