You will find the grounds are very nice grounds, with interesting local history and occasional special events and activities. I only got to see a small portion but I plan to go back for a tour and to see some of the historical collections. More...

I extensively travel to historic homes throughout the USA and Europe, and Goodwood is definitely one of the most interesting! I found the owners' histories very engaging and the guides' anecdotes very amusing. I was pleasantly shocked at the surviving collection of vintage clothes ranging from the early 19th century to the mid 20th century. The interiors are like stepping back into the early 20th century. I feel like if Edith Wharton, and Alva Vanderbilt had visited, they would have been very comfortable as houseguests. This house was the height of pre-WWI luxury. Be prepared to spend 90-minutes for the house tour, but it will soon pass because it is very enjoyable. More...

Beautiful grounds with wonderful event spaces as well as interesting classes. The docents are so knowledgeable and the tour of the house is really special. ..so many items original to the home and it’s 5 owners. Beauty, nature and history all in one place- right in the middle of town! It is really a hidden gem and lunch & sweet tea at Rev Cafe tops it all off! More...

One of the most charming venues in Tallahassee, Goodwood Museum and Gardens hosts beautiful landscape and unique architecture throughout the property. The staff are so sweet and helpful which is always appreciated when working at a wedding venue. We love when we get the opportunity to work at Goodwood as we always know we will have stunning photos of our couples on this gorgeous property. More...

Love the carriage house space for gatherings. I wish there was a paved walkway from the parking area but other than that, it's perfect.

Goodwood is a great location to host small, medium, and even large events, and the centralized location is super-convenient. Joe Manausa Real Estate hosted our annual Spring Family Carnival at Goodwood and had nearly 500 people in attendance. The facilities were just what we needed, and all had a good time. The weather was perfect, and we were able to set up many of the attractions underneath the shade of the several-hundred-year-old southern live oaks in the yard. These trees are a Tallahassee treasure, and we certainly appreciated their shade during our event. The yard at Goodwood was large enough that we could spread out and let the children play and have a good time while the adults could have discussions without having to compete with a lot of background noise. The historic buildings scattered around Goodwood are a whole other conversation, as they give the facilities the appearance of "old Tallahassee." We used them mostly to provide power for our bounce houses as well as a location for our face-painting station for the kids. One note was that there were power issues, so it was fortunate we brought back-up generators to run the outdoor kitchen and bounce houses. Overall, a 5-star event hosted at a 5-star facility, and I highly recommend Goodwood for anybody looking for the ideal Tallahassee event location. More...

It’s an old plantation house with lots of history, surrounded by naval oaks with Spanish moss hanging down. I would love to tour the buildings sometime when they are open.

We went to a play there in the afternoon. The old old live oak trees are beautiful.
The gardens are great. There are small interesting buildings and the big house.
It's an old plantation house but of course the slave quarters were not near the house.

My Mom and I were given a wonderful private tour (not booked privately, but no one else was there at the same time we were) of this beautiful home. I was especially intrigued by the realization that all of the items in the house are original to the home. So often I find on historical house tours that the items are from the representative period, but are not original to the home. It would be a great tour for older children to show them what life was like in earlier times. The price for the tour was reasonable, and we had two lovely and knowledgeable guides who answered any question we could think of! No photos are allowed inside the home, but you can take photos outside the home and on the grounds. It is free of charge to wander the grounds if you aren't able to take the house tour, and there are informative signs throughout the lovely park-like grounds. There is a cafe that is open for lunch on the grounds as well. More...

Quaint and cute place to visit for a walk with a friend or on a date. The grounds are open to the public and Goodwood is really doing a lot right now to get the community involved and to diversify its audience. For example, they are currently hosting Mindful Mondays during lunchtime on Mondays (yoga or meditation depending on the date). They also boast a community garden. If you don't suffer from allergies (like I do) it is best to visit in spring when everything is in bloom (and before the summer heat and mosquitoes). Spring in North Florida comes early so think late February and early March, but be prepared for our bipolar Tallahassee weather to throw you a cool day or two. More...
