What kind of accounting services do you provide?
General bookkeeping and accounting including payroll. I don't perform financial audits, but I do perform compliance audits from tax agencies and the defense that is associated with that.
Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
Many accountants may put numbers together and report the "facts". In business, many events and transactions can be viewed in more than one light, and one perception will usually favor the tax advantage or the goal the owner is trying to reach. Our job is to help business owners meet that goal and meet the requirements of basic accounting principles. How that is done is very important. It is also important that when an experienced accountant sees a risky situation related to assets, or to employees, that information is shared quickly and properly to the owner so that informed decisions can be made. We live in a litigious society now, many business owners must walk a narrow line to protect their business and their personal assets, plus provide for their employees. We think as accountants we should help with that.
What do you love most about your job?
Helping people. Helping an owner reduce risks and reduce taxes and improve his or her life. Helping an owner have more time with family when we are able to take issues and resolve them for him/her.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was tired of corporate life, I reduced taxes and made money for companies making 100's of millions of dollars. I wanted to help the small business people that could not hire the Big Six or Big Four accounting firms and the tank of lawyers. I was on that team in my old life. I wanted to help those that didn't have access to those resources. I don't speak in complicated legal terms, I can if I need to, but I try to explain tax issues and accounting issues in plain English.

I work hard for my clients. I treat your money like its mine. I want you to have less stress and more confidence in what you have to do to stay in business but also to know you are not at risk. I want you to know your company reporting and compliance, bookkeeping and your payroll is done right, well, and you are happy. That it is one thing you don't have to worry about. And when something happens, you have someone to call, someone on your side and someone who will help you.

All my services are available both online and remotely. We can operate under what makes you feel comfortable. These are your reports, your figures and your documents. You need access and you need to understand what they say.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We have the small Rainbow machines that clean and disinfect the air in our offices that run all day. We clean and sanitize often, usually daily. We were masks if anyone is coughing or showing any signs (they are not mandated in TN). We have masks we can offer if anyone comes in our office and seems ill. We use wipes often and clean our equipment. No one in our office has had COVID since November 2020 and all of us are vaccinated.
Corporate Tax Preparation
Your business is important. No one wants to pay taxes. It is our priority to help you reduce your tax bill as much as we can. I have experience in Corporations, S and C, and LLC's, and all forms of Partnerships. We discuss all tax positions with you so you determine how you want to report a transaction in the event there are alternatives. We find ways to reduce taxes that may be new due to IRS code modifications. We strive to protect your privacy and keep all data locked and protected. We do not have any wireless connectivity in our office to help protect privacy. If you call our office during office hours, there is no voice mail, a human voice will pick up the phone and answer. Period. We want your business and we want you happy. That is our goal.
Bookkeeping
This is integral to tracking how your business is doing. Your financial reports are like symptoms if you are ill. They will tell you what you are doing well and where you may need improvements. We think its important to see not only your monthly information, but year to date and some trends, like last year and prior period. That helps us find out and track what is working and if something is off, to find it and fix it before you lose too much money. You need to know what your business is telling you and we help you do that in a reduced time period. In addition, this can pay off big time when the taxes must be filed as we are looking at how to record events and transactions as they happen to produce the best tax answer, before its time to file that pesky form.
Payroll
Payroll is necessary in any growing company. People need to be paid accurately and timely. We make sure that happens, provide employees paystubs and W2s online, and provide good reports timely. We also let you know if your numbers look high or out of line in comparison to other payrolls so that you can be on top of it before it becomes a problem. In the event you get nastygram from the US Government, we take care of that too.
This is an area of tax where this is little to negotiate, it is mostly about accurate and timely reporting and payment. We know how important that is and we make sure you are protected.
