Wow!!! What an amazing sandwich!!! I came into Goodies last week just to check it out.  I got a sample of the brisket and ive been thinking of it ever since.  So soft, tender, and juicy.  So this week i decided to go with the sandwich and it was perfect... the bread roll was warm and soft, but yet still had a light crunch to it.  The inside was a melody of delicious... mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions... a delicious chipotle type sauce to it... every bite was perfect and filling.  I will definitely be back next week to have another bite of something delicious. The tri-tip sandwich here is a top tier gourmet meal. I've eaten thousands of sandwiches in my life and this takes the number one spot, hands down. Decided on an early dinner tonight and didn't know what to expect.  The owner kindly welcomed us in, told us about the menu, and apologized that he couldn't make sandwiches which were sold after the lunch crowd.  He did, however, suggest the stew (sausages and beans) for myself and brisket for my husband.  Good Lord.  The stew was amazing: hearty, flavorful, and topped with all sorts of fresh garnishes (green onions, red peppers, spicy pickle slices).  Husband's brisket was equally delicious: tender, generous portions with a deep bordelaise-like sauce.  If I had a chunk of bread, I would've wiped both of our dishes clean. This place is probably my new favorite place to buy meat. They have a decent high quality selection to choose from in terms of meats. They also let you try some of their meats giving you an option to decide if you want to cook it yourself or just buy it cooked. They also offer sandwiches and other foods in case you dont want to cook and just grab a nice bite to eat. The staff here is very nice. Amazing food, ALWAYS! Today had "tocanita de porc cu ciuperci" pork & mushrooms stew served with a side of homemade mashed potatoes and pickles and roasted red bellpeppers. I get together with some of my buddies for a group lunch every month and one of the guys suggested this place for last month's lunch.  Admittedly, I was very skeptical.  Because I got there late, all the guys already ordered and were seated at the big table in the back so I ventured by myself to the register to order.  I asked the two guys in line in front of me if they had been there before and, if so, what they recommend.  They both said to try the tri-tip sandwich because it was my first time.  I went with their recommendation and ordered it without any mods.Holy shit that sandwich was amazing!!!!  I think that was the response I gave to the owner/chef, Claudiu, when he came to ask how everything tasted.  Best steak sandwich I've ever had!!!  Can't wait to go back!!! Finally we found a legit butcher!  When it comes down to BBQ, smoking, grilling, reverse sear, sous vide, ect.  I take it very serious.  From Korean kalbi(flanken short ribs) to Brazillian picanha(sirloin cap) I love the different cuts and styles from around the world Goodies provides. Claudiu knows his meats. One look at his menu and it'll tell you he knows what's up. Claudiu will give you his honest opinion about the meats VS just saying anything to sell you. He has both Prime and Choice. His prices are also very competitive and he will provide cuts that are hard to find or simply cut it however you like it.  For me the its a bit of a drive, but definitely worth it.  Call ahead and see if he has what your looking for or just go there and have lunch, their smoked brisket is the best around served with delicious mashed potatoes. This place is my favorite restaurant in all of Orange County. I've tried just about every item on their lunch menu, and can confirm that every single thing is just as good as the last. Each dish is full of amazing flavor, tender meat, and incredible taste. I wish there was an option to give 6 stars - it's THAT good. My go to is the brisket sandwich, with a small rabbit stew and the mash potatoes...however you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Be ready to leave feeling happy and full. The portions are generous and the price is great, especially for the high quality and quantity of food you get!The owner of the place is INCREDIBLY kind, and always remembers us when we come in. Forget about sandwiches anywhere else in Orange. WOW. Claudiu also let me sample their boar bacon and boar pastrami as well as their rabbit stew. Wow, wow and WOW. Goodies in the Pantry is a small, family run butcher shop.  They have an amazing variety of cured meats - sausages, bacon, etc.  They also have a lot of smoked meats that they prepare in house.  Ok, heaven!  To top it all off, they have a deli where you can get fresh made sandwiches.I came in looking for goat meat.  Something I wanted to try on the grill.  While they did not have any in stock, they can order specialty meats and have them in 24 - 48 hours.  Instead of goat, I opted for a bison tri-tip.  I also picked up a half pound of their house smoked bacon.  I had them trim and season the tri-tip so it would be ready for the grill.The tri-tip was excellent.  I did overcook it just a bit, but it still was wonderfully lean and tender with very robust meaty flavor.  The bacon was lightly smoked and delicious.In addition to cow, pig, lamb, goat, and bison, you can get venison, antelope, rabbit, and a few other meats.Sandwich prices are quite reasonable.  The meat is expensive, but not out of line for more exotic meats.  Actually, their beef prices are quite competitive for the quality.They give a cash discount.  Definitely worth another visit. We live very close and only found this business by chance via the Internet while looking for charcuterie ..... and we found a new gem of a place. .....Great meats, game, and a real butcher. Additionally lunches which we have not yet tried; and noteworthy is a good selection of sausages in a not typical style - with the proprietors Romanian influence. This is one of the best restaurants. It's hidden away and quiet inside but filled with the aroma of the most amazing smoke meat I've ever come across. I was fortunate to go with a friend who helped me order a small sample of all of the meat and different sides they had to try.
