We strive to re-educate people so that they understand and can communicate with their pets in order to harmonize their homes. We are building a Family of well balanced and confident animals that can coexist in the world with their owners and enjoy the adventures life has to offer. We work with Dogs of all ages and backgrounds.

I love her style of training. Athena loved her too! Just very positive! My favorite thing about her is that she doesn’t only teach the puppy commands and how to be obedient but she also teaches the puppy how to live happy at home.

I’ve only had 2 appointments so far but I saw the magic start to happen after the first training session with Misty, so I signed up for 12 sessions.
I adopted Judy, a terrier/chihuahua mix, who is a shrill frantic barker. When I got her, it was a total scene every time visitors came. After one session plus daily practice, she is much more under control. Another thing I’m thrilled about is that I have mobility challenges, but I am able to train Judy from a distance with voice commands and tossing the treats. Who knew?!?!
I highly recommend Misty. She’s very professional and clearly understands dog behavior and how to correct it.

Good Dogs Stay and Misty has been a lifesaver for Luci and I. Luci was an anxious dog so I needed help to learn what Luci was telling me she needed. Misty helped me learn what Luci was telling me I needed. When I met Misty for the initial consultation she was very clear about the expectations and the work I as a human would have to do with Luci. When I adopted my two GSDs, it was obvious that they needed superior training from people who were willing to help not only the dogs but also myself in understanding what they needed and how to achieve it.
Other organizations were advocating for me to rehome one of my dogs before even coming to meet they or properly assess them. Misty and the Good Dogs Stay staff have surpassed any expectations I had and within 2 months I have seen a drastic change in my dogs. None of the progress we have made would have been possible without Good Dogs Stay. I have not only found a trainer who is so knowledgeable, incredibly professional, but most importantly… cares about my dogs as if they are her own and truly cares about their health, wellbeing, and is genuinely invested in their daily/weekly/monthly development.

I have a big dog who needed to learn good manors and be socialized after 2 years of just being home with his family. We have been amazed at the results we have seen in the short time we have worked with the trainer. Our dog and his sister are learning and so are the kids. We have been working with Misty for about 6-7 weeks and it's made an incredible difference with all THREE of our dogs that are under 2.
A few things that stood out to me!
1. She believes all dogs in the house need to be trained and on the same level as one another.
2. She came to do an in person/dog consultation before giving us a set standard price to actually see what individual dog needs.
3. The option to pay over time. This helps A LOT. I don't know about you, but there was not a savings set a side for sudden dog training.
4. KID FRIENDLY! Yes this is a family affair! Your whole family or anyone who also lives in the home WILL ALSO be trained! This makes sure the behavior continues as time goes on vs. Just sending your dog off to a doggy boot camp, They come back knowing the rules but you may not.
5. Great customer service . There is never a lack of communication. The homework is there, the contract is clear , the attitude is always positive and they generally care.

What do you love most about your job?
I Love watching our Family Grow and develop. I have a passion for the scared, nervous, anxious dogs. I Love to watch them come out of their shell and find their confidence. I love to watch the Puppies turn into well behaved big dogs. I also Love to watch our naughty Teens find their place and Harmonize with the family. The Circle of life that we see in our travels is what keeps us going day after day.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have been an entrepreneur for 25 years. I have always wanted to own a company that made a difference. While looking for my own Dog Trainer for my Rescue Daisy, I thought of using the techniques I was being told to use and they would not work for me. I saw a need. A need to help Dog Parents (and myself) talk to their dogs (Daisy) without using force. I wanted something that portrayed the love I had for Daisy and the understanding I felt when she was scared. As I saw Daisy grow into a phenomenal dog who is less reactive and able to cope in a myriad of situations, I found the passion I had been looking for. The need is great when families are in Turmoil, so to help stop the rehoming I have designed an affordable payment based programs to help rescues like Daisy Stay in the Home. We work to harmonize your home so that the rehoming percentages can decrease.

I am an honest, open person who has a true passion for dogs. I have gone to and continue to go to school to make sure that the procedures and methods we use are the most up-to-date science based methods. We strive to work with each family to fit our training into your home. We offer Result based training and payments. We do not currently offer online or remote services. This is something that we will be developing in the near future. We are private in-home trainers who work in your real life to set you and your dog up for success. We work with your abilities to make each program work for our clients.

We follow guidelines, are vaccinated, and will wear masks if asked.

We work with people to help their Pets be exercised mentally and physically. If you work long hours and need your dog walked we can help. Going out of town? We have sitters who can come over and check up or stay in your home with your dogs.
