Good Bull BBQ

BEST BRISKET ANYWHERE! That's a bold statement to make, but we've toured BBQ joints all over Texas, and I cannot stress enough how incredible this place is. Today was our first visit and we were SHOOK, y'all! Ordered a half lb. of moist brisket (WHICH IS USDA PRIME, PEOPLE), 1/4 rack of ribs, a side of loaded baked potato salad, and white queso mac'n'cheese. The brisket was the juiciest, most tender brisket I've ever had. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender. The potato salad was unique in the best way possible. The mac'n'cheese, I can't even describe because it was THAT DANG GOOD, y'all. When we finished eating, we talked to the owner, Roy. Nicest guy you could ever meet. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Small hole in the wall bbq joint near campus.  Owners are super friendly, and up beat, food is absolutely delicious, and priced pretty decently for bbq in the area.  Resturant was incredibly clean when my wife and I visited during lunch.  Food was fresh, and served promptly.  We had the pig mac tacos and some Brisket and Pulled pork plate.  The owners tossed on a couple of ribs for us to try since we mentioned it was our first visit.  The sides were freaking amazing, we tried the cowboy beans and the baked potato salad highly reccomend them both!!  Well worth a visit, I will be returning soon!! This is easily one of the best restaurants in College Station and is the first place I go whenever I come back into town! Their tacos are unbelievable and are honestly what I order every time I'm there . But also the potato salad is some of the best I've ever had. I can't even count the times I've ordered two sides of potato salad because it's just that good! And the service is amazing on top of all of that. They also do great catering!! Good Bull BBQ is really good. It is not the best in Bryan/College Station, but I am always happy to support Roy. Their turkey, sausage and brisket are really good but their ribs need some work. I have been a happy customer since they operated out of a trailer in a nearby parking lot. My only negative experience was when I drove across town to dine, but they were closed without notice. The people are great and the food is good. The sauces they use on the broccoli salad and coleslaw are not what you usually see but still tasty. Very unassuming, quick, friendly service, they give a military discount when in uniform, and the ribs are fall off the bone (I had to grab a fork! ). The sides are so much better than any normal Mac & cheese/potato salad/beans etc... They must put crack in them! I come here all the time to share a 12th man plate with one of my friends. It's enough food to fill both us up (sometimes with leftovers) for $12. We always get pulled pork and brisket with potato salad and Mac and cheese. Love this restaurant! More...

The BBQ is very good. Brisket is tender and very well smoked. Sauce on the side, like all good Texas BBQ. The sides have a distinct German flavor to them, from the vinegar cole slaw to potato salad to broccoli salad (very tasty, but not what I was expecting).

OMG their bbq is amazing! I would have given good bull a 3 star because of the decor (I'm not an aggies fan but the place is right across the street from the stadium and the owner Roy May is an Aggie for life) so it makes sense for all the a&m stuff, but the food made up for it with 7 stars! The customer service was great! Very veteran friendly, and they were even nice to me even though I'm from California! Lol I can't wait to go back and try everything else on the menu. I visited this establishment on April 3, 2019 at roughly 5:30. Upon arrival, Roy was working diligently getting briskets on the smoker, I assumed for the following day. I waited patiently while browsing the overhead menu. Since it was my first time there, I stuck with the basics and ordered 1/4 lbs of brisket and a regular link sausage. First things first: The brisket was quite possibly, no, it was, the best brisket I have ever eaten. I have been to Franklin's, Kreuz's, Luling City Market, Black's, Smitty's and well, you name it...and this was the absolute best I've ever had. The salt-to-pepper ratio was perfect and the tenderness was nothing short of spectacular. Roy came to my table and asked if I wanted BBQ sauce and I simply told him the brisket this good should NEVER have sauce on it. Yes, it was that good. On a scale of 1-10, I'd rate it an 11. Next, the sausage. Not my favorite. Roy gets the sausage from an outside business (I'm not sure which one). It wasn't bad, it just wasn't my favorite. There are much better sausages out there. On a scale of 1-10, I'd rate it a 3. As a Red Raider, I don't like complimenting Aggies (joke, my son-in-law is an Aggie), but let me tell you something kids....this place is certainly worth visiting. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the waitstaff and Roy, himself, bent over backwards to take care of his customers. That's how you run a successful business and he's doing just that.Go. Order the brisket. Fantastic barbecue! The pulled pork is amazing, the ribs are good, and the brisket is great. I love love love their white queso macaroni! They have super cheap and good sangrias also. The prices are also fair, and there is an Aggie discount. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because of their hours.
