We were on a long trip snd needed a place to work out. Staff was accommodating and we got a great work out. Friendly and helpful - I even got to try out the hydromassage unit.

Large gym, even when Google says it's busy there are plenty of machines left open. Also a great pool, theater, and smoothie bar.

Gold's Gym this place has been around awhile great looking inside new equipment a lot of equipment swimming pool a spinning movie theater a great place to work out and they have a Smoothie Bar great place overall

Leaving 4 stars as I have not yet visited this gym... These reviews are almost scaring me out of wanting to join.. I'm a huge advocate of friendly customer service and def not a fan of becoming locked in to some kind of contract that would be impossible to get out of. . I’m traveling for work so this is not my base gym but the location was very clean with a great, helpful staff. Some of the equipment is a little older but overall it was a good experience.

Very clean gym. Tanning, day care, senior classes, women's only gym room, separate area for body builders, cardio cinema, swimming pool. Nice locker room with sauna. I like the gym, however the 2 year contract is kind of constricting. The gym is also cluttered with random pieces of equipment instead of focusing on multi-use high-end equipment.

Haven't been a member that long but figured I'd post my impression so far. Great range of equipment, some really cool stuff I haven't seen anywhere else. Lots of cardio equipment, gotta love the Cardio Theater which is a movie theater with cardio machines instead of seats. Membership requirements were pretty clear-cut, you can't just stop being a member if you're on a contract. Friendly staff, good classes, feels pretty clean inside, nice roomy locker rooms, nice pool. The free training session you get with the membership is super awesome and helpful.Critiques: Some broken mirrors that definitely need fixed. I know it's expensive to fix but it isn't safe to have exposed glass shards like that. A/C has been messed up for a few days so it's been pretty hot. Music speakers have also been down so they've been using somebody's phone to play music, which is like being at a house party with people constantly changing the song and getting text messages. I guess to sum it up: they don't repair things very quickly. Also, only one dumbbell area which gets pretty crowded at times. They could probably use another set in another area of the gym, maybe a set that goes from 3lbs - 50lbs. More...

My husband and I have taken all the 6 week boot camp challenges since they started offering them and it's because of Robert and Sabra. They are WONDERFUL!!! I enjoy working with them. They really show a sincere personal interest in all of us. They give us a great workout and very good healthy eating tips even though I don't always follow them. I only had Teresa once, but I love her too. She's always so friendly and I can tell she would kick our butts if she was involved in the boot camp on a regular basis. The boot camp offered at Golds Gym North Roanoke is exceptional and very much worth the money simply because of the trainers - Robert Sullivan Jr. and Sabra Robitaille. The thought and planning that those two put into creating each work out in each boot camp is beyond impressive. They are so knowledgeable and so dedicated. Teresa Chambers has also helped some with the boot camp and she is just as dedicated. You will never find trainers that care as much about helping members reach their goals. Never.
