Laid back atmosphere. They had live music. The staff here are very friendly. The drinks here are excellent. Our waitress was amazing, gave great recommendations, and check on us regularly. I wanted the short ribs. But they ran out. So I had to get the curry chicken salad. It was delicious. We will definitely be back. If you go ask for Brooklyn to be your waitress, she was amazing. I've been coming to to Golden Isles Olive Oil since Donna opened her business. She started as a small retail store and expanded to be one of the golden gems of St. Simons Island! In addition to the ever expanding Olive Oil and Balsamic offerings on the retail side, she has created a wonderful restaurant that has a great casual vibe that the island needed....inside seating with a great bar and outside if you want to want to people watch. Also great variety of music. It's one of my go-to spots ! I highly, highly recommend that if you're on St. Simons, you make it a point to stop, and have dinner and shop and Golden Isles Olive Oil! Extremely disappointing. Server took forever to come to the table. Starters and mains arrived to the table ALL at the same time - we got told the chef was having a bad night! ! By the time we were done with starters food was ice cold. Drinks were never refilled. Food was so-so. Service sucked. I'm giving 4 stars and this was our first visit at the new location. They have done a very nice job renovating this old space and it's stocked full and very pleasing to the eye. We went around 6 pm and were aware they were only serving charcuterie boards. They were fairly busy and somewhat understaffed on the bar and food side. We were told the fastest service would be at the bar so that's where we went. The outdoor seating area was pretty full. The entertainment was actually pretty good but maybe a bit loud if you sat nearby. The bartender was doing a great job handling those at the bar and what appeared to be under trained servers with drink orders. We had a couple of glasses of wine each and one charcuterie board between us. We waited quite a while for the board mainly because only one person was doing the preparation. Compared to other charcuterie boards I've had in the past, this was a bit skimpy. I would rather pay a higher price and get more on it. It had 4 slices baguette, five small slices of cheese, 2 slices prosciutto, and some nuts. It was supposed to have sliced apples but it didn't. All in all, it's a nice place with much potential. We will surely go back. Everybody is dealing with staffing issues so I understand that. The staff were doing their best with a large crowd. The bartender was great and handling things very well. If you would like to have dinner, this is NOT the place for you. The reason why is because they will not serve it to you. On my first visit on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 8:01 pm, the hostess informed me that the kitchen had closed at 8:00 pm and turned us away . On my second (and last) visit on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 7:43 pm, the bartender, after several minutes of us standing at the hostess stand, informed us that they were not serving dinner due to labor problems. The hostess eventually showed up and made the excuse that all the restaurants were having the same problem. Fortunately not, or else no one would be served dinner on St. Simons Island. The business is in a new larger location and they, obviously, are not really ready to be open. You can ignore all reviews prior to January 2023, as they were written prior to them making this move.
