4.5 Stars. For a small, family owned Chinese restaurant, this place has great service and great food. I stopped in to quickly grab take out after reading such good reviews. First Star goes to the fact that they have ample parking in a private lot behind the restaurant. Note: Do not park in the Ralph's lot! The ordering process was easy and the gentleman helping me was courteous and quick and friendly. I ordered for two, plus an appetizer and fried rice to share. All of it came out within less than 10 minutes! I was shocked thinking, oh, this can't be good if they whipped it out that quick, but I was wrong. Drove it home in about 7-8 minutes. It stayed PIPING hot! The soup was burn-your-tongue hot. Just how I love it! Flavorful, and full of egg and corn and tofu! Thanks for using super soft silken tofu! The fried rice, I requested NO SOY sauce because I hate that taste and appearance of brown soaked rice in fried rice (I love soy sauce but not in my fried rice). I was convinced they wouldn't do it right, but it was perfect egg fried rice! I just wish they also added onion/scallion like most places do. The sweet & sour pork was also great! Lots of pineapple was a treat and it was just zesty and sour enough! Also served really hot and stayed crisp. Their Mapo Tofu was excellent. I ordered it mild but it still had a kick! Perfect! Ordered it as a Single Dinner Special so it came with rice (steamed), a spring roll and crab Rangoon, and soup (egg flower). Perfect and just $1 more!I'll definitely use this place as a regular Chinese take-out place. Recommend to all in the area and surrounding communities! More...

You won't want to eat anywhere but go China for Chinese food. Also note You get a free drink when you check in More...

This place is a gem! Had their combination lo mien and salt and pepper pork chop - both was delicious. The pork chop was my favorite. Crispy and well seasoned. The service was great. Came around close but the server was still very attentive. Didn't try to rush us out. They also have a STAMP CARD. Very unexpected but interesting that it's offered. Finishing a stamp card gets you $6 off. There is a ton of parking in their lot BUT very confusing where to enter. You can only enter from the back. If you try one of the parking lot entrances in the front, you'll end up in the gas station or the Ralph's parking lot. More...

This is a magical day because I am lucky that I found this place and it is now my go-to for Chinese food. I had the lunch special: soup, entree and eggroll. I asked if I could substitute wonton soup in place of the other soups offered for the lunch special (eggdrop or hot and sour) and it was allowed for a slight up charge. The first surprise of my meal was how the fresh vegetables, like the mushrooms and snow peas, gave the broth a beautiful flavor that was totally new and unexpected to me. ( I mean it's wonton soup, it's usually nothing special and just tastes kinda salty and kinda gingery every other place I go.) This one though pleasantly tasted like "the earth," and I loved it. I chose fried rice over steamed because I always crave fried rice and get out of my way because that was what I came in for. For the entree, I went with the sweet and sour chicken and I really like this restaurant's version which was a deep orange, pineapple sauce. I was happy with the flavors and nice sizes of white meat chicken but the fried rice was f'ing PERFECT. The texture was right on, the rice was cooked to the right firmness, and the flavor seemed to have much more dimension to it. Also, there is way more parking in the back of the restaurant just cut all the way through the Ralph's parking lot and you will see it. More...

This is truly a hidden gem on Lake! Everything from the atmosphere, to the service, to the food was phenomenal. Our server recommended the House Chicken over the Dynamite Chicken since it was our first time visiting, and we are so glad we listened to him! The chicken and peppers were fresh and the sauce was rich and tasty! Perfect combination of sweet and sour. We also shared the Combination Chow Fun and were very pleased! The two dishes provided enough food for dinner and lunch the day for two of us (4 meals total). Thank you for the great hospitality - we'll definitely be back! More...

Stopped here on our way back from Palm Springs after circling the area looking for another Chinese restaurant that was hidden and parking was looking impossible. Go China has a large parking lot BEHIND it, next to the Ralphs, a rare find in Pasadena. It was nearly empty as it was Monday of Memorial Day weekend and we were seated immediately. After our 15 month old was all set up we started ordering, and the server was kind enough to say "ah, that's alot of food already" so we scaled down our order to just beef lo mien and orange chicken and some steamed dumplings. Much appreciated for the honesty! The server was quick with soup and rice for the 15 month old and soon after our meals arrived. VERY TASTY on all items and good sized portions for the prices. Restaurant was clean and modern as well. We'll be back there for sure next time we are in the area! More...

We ordered the usual suspects: noodles, a beef dish, a chicken dish, and a shrimp dish. It's nothing out of this world, nevertheless we got plenty of compliments from the guests who partook. Also, definitely better than Panda Express :)Plenty of parking at the large Ralphs supermarket parking lot next door. Shhhh.... More...

So my I took my here on a lunch date and I was pleasantly surprised. I have lived in Pasadena for over 20 years and one of the things that has been lacking for our city is a good Chinese restaurant. Normally we would just go over to San Gabriel or Monterey Park or Arcadia to find the food that we want. However after eating here we don't ever have to travel far to get amazing Chinese food. When my wife and I first got married we ate at Go China and it was great I don't know if they changed ownership over the years but somewhere in between it started to take a dive and portions and customer service was consistent, but there was still some things lacking. When I took my wife out to lunch here we decided to give it another try so it was on the way. My wife ordered the lunch special Mongolian beef and I ordered the lunch special kung pao shrimp. Both were amazing and the serving for lunch were great. When it comes to shrimp they don't skip out leaving you wanting more. I hope that it continues to be this great because I don't like having to repost a review of how bad the service is. Please keep doing what you're doing customer service was excellent food was amazing and ambience was awesome. Thank you Go China we will be back. More...

I left a review for Go China last month, but I'm leaving a new one...a 5-star review! They deserve it. Brough my mother and a friend from Germany here for Mother's Day Lunch. The place was packed, and the food was absolutely delicious!!! I had the "Lover's Nest", my mother had the "Hong Kong Seafood", and my friend tried the "Green beans with shrimp". We were super delighted and satisfied with the food!!! They don't skimp when it comes to giving you food. My friend had a good amount of shrimp in her dish, and mine was absolutely delicious. My mother also loved her dish and she cannot wait to come back. Even though it was crowded for Mother's Day, the service was great and the food was really wonderful! I also appreciated the fact that they had their "regular" menu for Mother's Day, unlike many other restaurants, who have a special menu for that day, where you end up paying triple of what it's worth. There was enough parking behind the building. You can access it by Mentor Ave, which is a one-way street. A helpful tip if you are approaching from the South is to drive through the Ralphs parking lot, exiting onto Mentor (turn right) and then turn right again 10 feet later to enter the parking lot.
