Beautiful clubhouse. Was there for the holiday Gala. Decorations were beautiful and the orchestra was a nice touch. They played for four hours with a mix of string quartet, small symphonic orchestra ensemble, and jazz with brass, bass and piano.

Beautiful well maintained golf club.  Meticulously manicured grounds with perfect greens for golfing.  The service is impeccable, premises immaculate.  As a private club with approximately 200 members , it is expensive because the overhead is high and the resources required to maintain the club are vast.  The food is good but expensive as well because membership comes with food contracts.  However this is worth it for golfers because of the sheer beauty and immensity of the course. My husband and I recently got married at Glen Flora Country Club. We had the most incredible wedding ceremony out near the golf course and an even more incredible reception immediately following. Everything about our experience at Glen Flora was exceptional. Toni helped us plan every detail and was with us throughout the whole process. She knew my vision better than I did. Glen Flora is truly a hidden gem on the far North Shore.  A private club with an unbelievable golf course and landscape that is unique compared to others.  A fun atmosphere where the members seem to really enjoy it.  I noticed that Glen Flora would be a great venue for weddings and events as they have giant plate glass windows overlooking the beautiful golf course.  The members indicated that they open up to the public for these type of events. Toni was great and very professional. The venue was beautiful and the staff was very attentive. I would have loved to have known that they dont offer the option of hosting your rehearsal dinner sooner. Also my husband changed the type of chicken after our tasting but the changes weren't made. Though the food was still delicious. For what we spent we definitely received top notch quality and service. I would recommend this venue to anyone and I am still telling people how great Toni was through out the process. She definitely made the process easy and stress free. More...

I had my wedding in December...and this place didn't let me down. It was well decorated, and it didn't interfere with the decorations that we used for the ceremony and the reception. The food was delicious. We had the stuffed chicken with brie and apricot. The overall experience was so wonderful. Ms. Toni was very helpful and the entire staff was great. If you are looking for a venue...this is your place. Words cannot describe how pleased I was with everything. I truly felt like I got the most bang for my buck. My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at this lovely country club. From the very moment we stepped in, we knew this was our venue. It was absolutely perfect! Toni is the Director of Food & Beverage and she showed us around the grounds, inside and out. The area outside where the ceremony would be performed sat against a backdrop of lush greenery that I knew would be perfect in pictures. The reception area inside has large windows met by beautiful stone walls that had a rustic type of feel. Perfect for our theme! The bar was very clean and tidy, and staff were extremely friendly while we were there. The process from beginning to end was amazing! Toni stayed in constant contact with us, giving suggestions while listening to our vision. Everything from the price, food options, and the set up was perfect! On our wedding day, things went perfectly without a hitch. We had so many compliments about the food from our guests, and so many said it was the most beautiful wedding they had been to! Toni was the most kind, patient, informative and helpful Director ever! She was there on our wedding day to make sure everything went right, and we are so glad we picked Glen Flora!!! My expectations for the best day of my life were exceeded because of Glen Flora and Toni, and we are so very thankful! We are even attending a wedding there next weekend from one of our friends! We were SO beyond thrilled with the outcome of our wedding reception at Glen Flora Country Club. They did an absolutely beautiful job remodeling their whole facility. Toni is AMAZING and so helpful!! She is so dedicated to making sure everything is just perfect and was very responsive to expectations. Our food was so delicious! Oh my gosh, the staff was SO friendly and catered to me, the bride. Ms. Toni and her staff were very nice and were very knowledgeable at creating the perfect day for my husband and myself. We got married during the holidays and the place was decorated so nice with our wedding decorations well. I'm a member, have been for a little over a year.  I read the other review when i was considering membership which threw me off a bit because I wasn't sure it was private.  It is, and a great value.  I can always get on the course, everyone around the club is really genuine, both members and people who work there.  The course is really great, but playable as I am a rather ho hum 20 handicap.  don't let 6600 yards confuse you, its a par 70 so it feels plenty long to me.  and those greens are tough.  I recommend this club highly. I'm giving this course 5 stars and my over all experience a 4.  The slope rating is 135 and is one of the best courses in Chicagoland rivaling Makray and Harborside, which are public.  I've always wanted to play this course but it's a bit pricey at $110 and over $75 on golf sites. I paid $47, which is a steal in late October. It's a private course that went public because of the economy. But be forewarned: DRESS APPROPRIATELY!  You must wear golf pants and collared shirt. I wore collared gym gear because it was 34 degrees outside and was turned down so I had to buy appropriate clothing to play. My ignorance; my bad. The pros: gorgeous course with some of the best, fastest, most undulated, most manicured, and truest  greens in Chicagland. Most holes are tight and straight with trees left and right and a few nice  dogleg lefts and rights.  There are plenty of soft bunkers protecting the greens and they are a delight to hit out of.  The chicken sandwich is delicious although a bit pricey. The pace is amazingly fast; our 4some finished in less than 4 hours. The cons: very strict dress code, but members require it so I don't blame the staff. Short course at about 6600 yards. There are only 2 par 5's and one is super tight. A few more par 5's would be nice.  Holes are poorly marked and there is no GPS. Its site says it's a hidden gem and it truly is. The course makes you use every club in the bag, and 3 putts can be the norm. We all loved the course and will be playing it as much as possible. 4 1/2 stars! More...
