I don't normally write reviews but just had to! Gissendanner Photography has been part of my life since high senior portraits. My family used them for years when they had their studio in west Ashley. My parents home is adorned with beautiful canvas framed portraits taken of us as we grew up. After moving back to Charleston after several years I was looking for intimate special portraits for my wonderful husband. At first panic set in when I saw that my favorite photographer had closed the studio. Needless to say I was delighted to find him well and still practicing his wonderful art. As I now wrap this beautiful album he has created for me I'm anxiously waiting for my husband to open it! I was spoiled growing up because my parents insisted on quality photography. When I moved away I tried some of the new so called photographers that seem to be everywhere. I'm no expert but I can always tell Gissendanner's portraits from others. I highly recommend them for whatever you want photographed. They are always very professional and easy going. With there online ordering system I was able to view the proofs at my computer the next day. More...

I wanted to have the perfect wedding gift for my soon to be husband and I found it! I wanted to do boudior photography, but was concerned about quality along with feeling comfortable in front of the camera.
My expectations were surpassed completely!
Kim Gissendanner made me feel completely comfortable and was able to offer some sample work. He was also extremely flexible with his time, easy to talk with, and always available for questions. Kim offered prompt responses to all questions and concerns I had and was able to off exquisite photography that I know I will enjoy for years to come! I would recommend Gissendanner Photography to anyone who wants a personable and flexible photographer!

We were hoping to find a photographer that could create magic for us! We searched the internet for a photographer that could do just that. When we came across Gissendanner Photography, we were amazed. We called Gissandanner Photography and got unbelievable customer service from Kim Gissendanner. He answered all of our dozens of questions. On our wedding day Kim delivered exactly what we were hoping for. He was professional, fun, relaxing, and creative. Most of all Kim was very easy to work with. We never felt uncomfortable posing for him. Even our most shy guests were at ease with Kim taking their pictures. Numerous guests commented about how fantastic Kim was and how he was right there in the middle of everything snapping the most important memories but never in the way. After the wedding, we have received several emails from friends asking for contact information for our photographer. Our guests loved Kim too! We got to view our pictures right after we returned from our honeymoon. The pictures are amazing, we were actually blown away by the quality of the photos. Kim did so much more than we ever expected! Kim was wonderful. He started with pre-wedding photos at my home where we did inside and outside shots. He continuously shot photos throughout the wedding getting candid as well as posed photos. He was very professional and from the beginning to the end. He has a great personality and never made me feel like he was getting bored or tired, but seemed to enjoy the event as much as the guests. Gissendanner Photography did my maternity pictures and they turned out absolutely amazing! Mr. Gissendanner is very personable and made us feel very comfortable. He spent over two hours photographing my husband and I. We were very pleased that several different backgrounds were used. It provided us with a wide variety of wonderful photos to choose from. I was so eager to view our photographs after the session and could not believe that we were able to see them so quickly. All of our photos were pass word protected and posted on-line three days after our session. We have thoroughly enjoyed them being on-line because it has been so convenient for family and friends to view them. We also could not believe how quickly we received our photographs. I placed the order on a Thursday and received them the following Monday. I highly recommend using Gissendanner Photography and we look forward to them working with our family in the near future. My husband and I were married in May of 2009 and chose this photographer over many others. I was so impressed with the albums I viewed of previous brides and the amazing "candid" shots he took.
He definitely lived up to our high expectations. We have the most beautiful pictures, he did not miss a SINGLE moment of our wedding. We are SO pleased and would highly recommend this company.
On a personal level, Kim is amazing to work with. Something spilled on a page of my album, and free of charge, I was able to get the pages fixed within a couple weeks!

Gissendanner did my wedding, bridal portriats and rehearsal dinner beautifully! It is not just photos of boring poses, it's like art, he puts the album together like telling a story and the album itself was very high quality. I still have it on my entry way table after 6 years and share with everyone. People always ask who did my photography! It is THE best thing about my wedding, besides my wonderful husband. Pricing & turn around time were well worth it! Not something you should skimp on for your wedding! Gissendanner also comes and does our family Christmas photos every year. He was nonstop action - capturing every moment! I do wish I had more posed shots with friends and family but I didn't tell him that because I hate really pose-y shots.
I prefer candids, but now I realize I don't have any really, really good ones to make an album for special friends and extended family. But that's not his fault.
I do wish I had gotten the photos quicker and I'm still waiting on the editing of them - that's the only thing I'd say get straight upfront is how long will everything take after the wedding.

Photographers are very friendly and fun. THese photographers took the picture that won my son a photo contest! they also shoot the pictures inside the lowcountry parent magagzine in sc and also offers a children's membership which entitles you to discounts on portrait and studio and/or location shooting fees! also entitles you to free portrait session for your child's birthday. very clean and fun picture taking environment!PROS: Great establishment!
