I wish I could give this company 6 stars !  One thing is for sure: when you move some things will go wrong and you need good movers to help resolve the problems.  Gentle Giant was awesome.  Greg was the foreman and he worked so darn hard!  He has a terrific disposition and coordinated my move in spite of the 105 fwy being closed down due to a car hitting a tanker and making the move late.  He was pleasant and took extra care with my stuff and re-assembled my china cabinet perfectly.  Milbert also has a lovely disposition and was excellent at being so careful and re-assembling my exercise equipment.  Juan was also a hard worker and always pleasant.  They solved every problem as they inevitably arose.  Irene coordinated the job over the phone and gave me the comfort level that the movers would show up when they were supposed to -- great follow up and always answered the phone,  even on weekends.  I was so impressed that the guys worked so hard when my condo complex made them walk a long way, that I spoke to Mike, the owner and offered to pay for 2 extra hours.  He refused my money and said he would stick to the estimate.  Who does that?  Wow. This is a quality company and even the estimator was so pleasant and competent.This is a real evaluation from an ordinary woman.  I got the name Atlas from AAA and when I called them, they said they only do interstate runs and they gave me the name of Gentle Giant as a local agent.  I highly recommend that you use them and ask for Greg, Milbert and Juan ! We didn't actually end up using Gentle Giant for our move because, as we were discovering, we actually didn't have enough stuff to make a full service moving company the right choice for us. Gentle Giant actually recommended van lines or a PODS type solution instead. (Most other moving companies offered what they could to make using their services as cheap as possible without mentioning that we were maybe making a mistake looking at that kind of service at all). We were really impressed by how honest and straight-shooting Michael was-- I'd definitely recommend him to anyone trying to navigate the world of competing moving companies; he's just an all around good guy. Gentle Giant Movers is FABULOUS! My daughter moved from Playa del Rey to Burbank and from beginning to end, Gentle Giant was terrific. Irene was very helpful creating the estimate, sending paperwork timely and being extremely responsive by email and telephone to our questions. The movers were punctual, efficient, careful and professional. They emailed an invoice receipt to me within minutes of finishing the move and the total came in below the estimate quoted to us. My wife and I needed to move her huge collection of fashion magazines into storage.  She had 50 file boxes full of these "collectors items" stacked against the wall of our den (which we call "the box room"), but meanwhile we needed a room to sleep in during bedroom renovation.  Time was of the essence, and I am so glad I phoned Gentle Giant moving and storage (I was reassured by their affiliation with Atlas Van Lines).  Michael Ferrari, the co-owner, answered my call, and was truly a class act, in explaining my storage options.  We settled on his wood vault system, which he assured us could accommodate my wife's literal ton of magazines for only $65 per month.  I decided to hire his truck with 2 men for the 4 hour minimum, around $400, and make use of the movers at our condo to prepare for our renovation work.  Mr. Ferrari and his associate Irene were very helpful and I recommend their services without hesitation. Wow. I can't say enough about how amazing this moving company is! We are in the midst of a huge office renovation and the team was awesome! They truly are "gentle giants", treating all of our belongings with care and are so courteous and accommodating too! I would definitely recommend this company for your next office move and they will be the first people I call when I decide to move homes. Everyone knows that moving is stressful, but they've definitely done their best to make it as easy and seamless as possible. We just moved from Massachusetts to Florida.  As soon as Gentle Giant arrived at our home in Massachusetts I knew we made the right choice in movers. I wrote to Gentle Giant to let them know if the second part of the move went as well as the first, I would be truly impressed.  Well,  we just moved into our new home, and I am truly impressed.  Moving is stressful. This review is long overdue, as we moved January 2016.   But we had an excellent experience and I wanted to share.    We interviewed several other moving companies, but decided to use Gentle Giant once again after speaking with Michael, the owner & getting a decent quote.   They were definitely not the lowest but not the highest either.   Michael instilled a feeling confidence & calmness, and helped me feel less stressed.   He was always available for any questions or concerns we had. This was our second move with Gentle Giant, and we had a good experience the first time 13 years prior.   Both times we hired Gentle Giant for full-service moving, never had any issues.    We had them professionally pack everything, and then stored our stuff for 22 days in between houses, and then move us into our new house.   Since Gentle Giant had the capability to leave our stuff on their truck for the 22 days, we were able to avoid incurring charges for a second move.    Not all companies have this capability.   Gentle Giant was able to leave their truck  with all of our stuff inside at their warehouse/property, as they lock, alarm & have cameras at their very secure warehouse.  Michael was super flexible and helpful making things work for us.  Especially, when we were so up in the air as to when our new house would close escrow.  Gentle Giant's packers were highly skilled & professional.  They came about two days before we moved, and packed all of our stuff.  They did a phenomenal job carefully wrapping, boxing and labeling our delicate breakables & everything else.    After we moved in and unpacked,  we were able to find everything and not one thing was broken.    We were downsizing, going from a 5,300 square foot house to a 3,400 square-foot house.   Also, we had a professional treadmill and some very large heavy pieces which weren't a problem for these professional movers.    They even moved our Baldwin upright piano without any issues.   They spend a lot of time setting up ramps and wrap & protect everything to ensure nothing gets damaged.   They provided us with all the wardrobe boxes we needed, and also will get you boxes if you want to pack your own stuff.   They even provide pointers on which boxes to use and how to pack.  These guys are pros and know what they're doing.   They have to packing, loading the truck, and moving down to a science.  Gentle giant recommends that you purchase the additional insurance for heavy expensive items.  This way, in the event something gets broken you will be covered.    This would be good for a piano, elliptical machine, televisions, expensive furniture etc.If I choose to move again, I know who I'm calling!  Thank you Michael and team at Gentle Giant!!! The folks from Gentle Giant moved me from my house in Glendale to their storage facility a couple weeks ago.  They came out a few days before and provided an estimate.  Their estimate was pretty much inline with the actual cost of the move.  The guys that showed were very friendly, efficient, and took great care of our property.  I'm very happy with the experience so far and would not hesitate to recommend them for moving.  In fact, I have already recommended them to a friend.  I will update my review after they have delivered my contents to my new home early this fall. Time and time again, Gentle Giant is the absolute best at what they do. I have used GG at least three times since 2004, the most recent being this past weekend (check my reviews to see what happened the one time I wasn't able to use them back in 2013. )  Every part of working with GG is at the highest level of service and professionalism - Michael gave me an excellent and clear quote, Irene made sure all the ducks were in a row,  Luis and Derek showed up 15 minutes before my appointment time, ready to go, and were beyond outstanding at every moment.  They wrapped all of my furniture and televisions beautifully to ensure they weren't damaged during transport, took great care not to disturb my grass or floors, and set everything up exactly as I wanted it in my new place.  Plus, they were such nice people which certainly makes the stress of moving easier to handle.  GG always provides free wardrobe boxes the day of the move for my hanging clothes which means that I actually get to start unpacking while they are bringing items in from the truck and they clothes arrive without having to be ironed due to being shoved in boxes.  They also use wardrobe boxes to put smaller boxes or items inside, so they can reduce trips back and forth to the truck and keep your smaller things from flying around and getting damaged, which is really helpful. Most importantly, they moved everything quickly but didn't seem to be rushing, and managed to finish my entire move two full hours less than the initial estimate, which was fantastic!  Moving is an expensive and stressful thing, and the team at GG seems to really get that and provide their customers with an unprecedented level of service.  They are the best.  Period. I used Gentle Giant this past weekend and was extremely pleased with their care of my items and extreme efficiency.  Previously I had used another local company and I ended up with two guys and pick-up truck who didn't seem to know what they were doing. Gentle Giant does commercial moving as well, and since they had extra people available, 5 guys showed up and moved me in three hours.  They wrap the items so that they don't get damaged and unwrap them upon delivery.Gary was in charge of the crew, and he was polite, efficient and great at what he does.  The whole crew was pleasant and this was the least painful move I have ever made.  Thumbs up for Gentle Giant...trustworthy movers! We recently completed a residential move with Gentle Giant.  It was seamless.  Their bid was actually higher than the other company we consulted, but the concerns they expressed about our move -- a three story townhouse with awkward furniture disassembly and lifts -- made us comfortable about their attentiveness.  (The estimate was done by Michael, the owner.)  They showed up on time both days, and finished under the estimated time frame of both days.  As a result, the final cost was below the initial estimate, and below the other bid we had received.  The crews were professional and courteous throughout.  They moved a refrigerator three times for us as we decided where to put it in our house.  Unpacking is just no fun, but in the course of unpacking, almost everything was exactly where the box labels said they would be, and, miraculously, absolutely nothing was broken during the move, not even a single glass (I presume no mover would guarantee such a happy result every time).  They called the day after the move to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction.  It was. Best moving experience!  From the initial estimate with Michael to the final delivery in Denver, the process was smooth, communications clear (thank you Maria! ), and all of our goods were treated with care and attention.  (We have unpacked 90% items, so far nothing was broken or gotten damaged!)Michael's estimates were spot on, every line item cost is transparent -- and I love that he was conservative, so there was no surprises on the weighing day, the final cost was below estimate. In addition, he gave great advice to help me reduce packing costs and meet our budget. As a result, the moves was so well planned, and my own packing started weeks early, and reduced the last minute stress to a minimal. I want to particularly thank the entire Gentle Giant packing and wrapping and loading team (Derek, Chewy, Gabriel, Jesus) -- but especially Chewy and Derek, they were the BEST packers and wrapper I have encountered.  My husband and I have moved across the US, and back and forth from China, all together 5 times in the last 11 years, and Gentle Giant is by far the best.  They were courteous, gentle, thorough, and are the ultimate professionals.  And I very much appreciate Driver Joe for taking the extra time to meet us at the weighing stations, and carefully inventory all the goods, and delivering at the earliest possible date.  The Denver-based Atlas crew that Joe brought in was fast, efficient, courteous and careful as well.  They made sure our travertine floors and brand-new carpets were protected, and assembled the furniture with great care.  I am so happy with Gentle Giant and Atlas that I will recommend to all my friends.  And I will most certainly move with Gentle Giant and Atlas again! In the past 18 years I have moved 5 times with Gentle Giant. We have move locally, to a different county and then as far away as New York City and back. The staff is friendly, experienced, professional and show real pride of workmanship from packing to unpacking (yes they will unpack your boxes and it's worth every penny). Gentle Giant came out and gave a "not to exceed" estimate and the total cost came in well under the quote. Both the owner that created the quote and the head of the team of movers were very well spoken, gave great attention to detail, explaining every nuance. Our move was complicated: from one apartment, a second story condo 50 yards from the truck and a storage facility to a third floor condo. The furniture included an extra long soft that they had to carry up stairs to the 3rd floor after a long day of loading and unloading a huge van of boxes and furniture, most of it antique.They also moved a large wooden sculpture that looks doomed to be broken in perfect shape. They arrived early, were very responsible, asking questions about different furniture. They carefully covered floors and left the places very clean. They were friendly, professional, worked amazingly hard with one short break all day. We have unpacked over 90% of the boxes and only one hat was squished and really it should have been thrown out years ago! They were very careful. We recently moved (for the second time) with Gentle Giant. As before, they came out and provided a not to exceed estimate of 8 hours. The guys showed up 15 minutes early and immediately got to work. They worked straight through, not even taking lunch, and including a trip to our storage unit to drop off and pick up stuff, we were done in 6 1/2!Not only were the guys hard working and courteous, but they were careful with all of our stuff, carefully wrapping it in blankets and plastic. They also disassembled our bed and baby's crib and then reassembled them in our new place. They provided wardrobe boxes to use the same day as well.As they were leaving, they saw me struggling to open up a couple of boxes (I couldn't find a knife or scissors!) and went around and cut open all the boxes for me!I've recommended them to friends who've used them three times in the last three years and this recent experience reinforced my very positive opinion of them.I'll also note that we had one guy come the day before to help with packing. We paid for the three-hour minimum and in that time, he packed our entire kitchen - it was worth EVERY penny not to have to wrap every wine glass, plate and bowl!Gentle Giant may not be the least expensive, but they are efficient, polite, careful and will meet the estimate they provide, all the while minimizing the stress of a tough moving day. I need to write this review while it is fresh on my mind. Yesterday was our third time moving with Gentle Giant and they've been great every time, but this time was particularly fantastic. The company sent out a gentleman to do a quote at our home- gives you a better idea of the scope of your move and how much it will end up costing you. The nice part is that they won't go over the quoted price, even if the work ends up taking longer than expected. On the flip side, you only pay for what you use, so if it takes less time, they only charge you for that. We were quoted 9 hours with 4 guys- I know, crazy, but we have A LOT of stuff for two people so it seemed accurate. The men showed up promptly at 8 a.m. with a HUGE truck and got straight to work. They loaded the entire house, patio furniture, and 2-car garage in less than 2 hours. 2 HOURS!!!! We had a lot of odd items (bikes, surf boards, an old-fashioned sewing machine) and they took special care of everything. They provided us with wardrobe boxes for our closets so moving clothes was a breeze. Every time they've helped us with our move they encourage us to leave nothing behind, which has saved us many back-and-forth car trips for those loose items you avoid packing at first. At the new house, they carefully laid down pathways of cardboard so they wouldn't scuff or scratch our newly refinished hardwood floors. In the end, the entire move was complete in 5 hours- MAGICAL. My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the professionalism and efficiency of Gentle Giant Moving & Storage. Hopefully we won't be moving again for awhile, but if we do we know exactly who we'll be calling. You can't go wrong with these guys. More...

I first used Gentle Giant about 10 years ago, on a recommendation by my realtor. I've used them numerous times since then. We moved to Paris a couple of years ago, using an international moving company, and their local affiliate to pack us and put our goods in the shipping container was Gentle Giant.  Michael is a great estimator and will give you lots of useful advice to save money and headaches on your move. The movers are always great guys - friendly, efficient, and always work fast. I've never had anything broken or damaged. In fact, the guys look over your furniture carefully when packing, and will point out scratches and dings you didn't you had! More...

I don't even know what to say about how amazing and wonderful these folks are. From the way that they handle phone calls to the way that they pack, load, haul, and unpack, they are as good as it gets. They have now moved us 3 times as well as storing a lot of our things. Today I received half of the stuff from storage. I was dreading it. But Anthony and Jesus were so efficient and helpful and kind that the time flew, and I was really, really happy at the end. When I needed a company to help me move out of my 2-bedroom condo from Burbank to Pasadena, a close friend of ours had recommended Gentle Giant since he has used them for a recent move.  Although we did not ultimately work with GG, I did want to review the company as we had a good experience with them.From the first phone call to the estimate to the follow-up, they have great customer service and great advice for moving.  While their estimate did come up on the high end of our choices (and, ultimately, why we had decided to use someone else), I would definitely seek out their services should the need arise again. Gentle Giant Moving Company provided a finely tuned moving experience from the first conversation on the phone to the end of unloading the truck.
