About

I am a sole proprietor specializing in small product photography for websites, auction sites, ads or prints. Working full-time as a gemologist in the jewelry industry for 40 years has taught me a lot about working with small products. I am currently working part-time as staff photographer for a magazine specializing in macro and on-site photography and all the editing that goes along with that.

Q&As

Patience, practice, knowing your camera and being able to "follow the light".

The biggest question is "For what purpose do you need the photos?"

And "What are your expectations?"

Handling and photographing beautiful objects. Editing the photographs in a way that retain their "remembered beauty". Plus, it always gives me pleasure if a good photograph helps sell the object for the client!

I love being independent! I have owned a small jewelry business for years and thoroughly enjoyed traveling for that business.

I'm a perfectionist and passionate about what I do!

I actually prefer to work remotely/online. Since I specialize in small product photography (items 18 inches and smaller), these items can be mailed to me and I can photograph them in my studio (light-controlled environment) which makes the photography consistent from photograph to photograph. Photo edits are easy to send via WeTransfer. I can also edit a client's photography and send those edits remotely or post them on a website or on-line, whatever the client prefers.

If I need to travel, I can. I have been vaccinated and still do not go anywhere indoors without wearing a mask and I will still wear a mask in large outside crowds. If I must travel, I would wear a mask and would ask that the client(s) also be vaccinated. Currently, I am still not comfortable with air travel.

Services

I specialize in macro photography for jewelry and art objects 18 inches and smaller (down to gemstone-size). I prefer to photograph such items in my studio (located in Tucson, AZ) so they would have to be mailed to me. All items would need to be shipped insured, priority or registered mail, would be documented on their arrival and would be returned in the same manner they were shipped.

However, if you have a large number of items to be photographed and do not wish to ship them, it's possible travel could be arranged, expenses paid by the client upfront.

I have a passion for landscape photography, as evident by my website, but am also willing to photograph any kind of outdoor real estate (housing, corporate buildings, etc.) within 50 miles of Tucson.

I have experience in photographing museums for commercial purposes. If you are located outside the Tucson, AZ area, it's possible travel could be arranged, expenses paid by the client upfront.

If you just need a photographer to edit photographs of your product that you, yourself have taken, I have considerable experience in editing using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Fees would be less than a full product photography package. All work would be done remotely.

I have considerable experience in photographing collections for documentation. (Mineral collections, small figurines, etc.) Items could be mailed, although this is extremely hard to accomplish with really fragile items. Travel could possibly be arranged with expenses paid by the client upfront.

Websites, eBay, auction sites, and Social media.

(Website example: www.gemgypsy.com)

I can set up template-style websites with Weebly, Wix and Square and have some experience with WordPress if the client also needs those types of services.
