I attended a Couples' Night and had a fantastic time. We made a beet and prosciutto salad, cornish hens, garlic polenta, roasted leeks, and ginger scones with macerated blackberries. Gaynor was a delight. She gave clear directions and I certainly learned quite a bit, but she kept it fun, which is exactly how she advertised it. We were there for about three and a half hours and it was time well spent! More...

I received this couples cooking class as a birthday present. My boyfriend and I went together - it was the first cooking class that we had ever been to so we weren't sure what to expect. We have some skill in the kitchen but nothing crazy. Upon arrival, we were split into two groups, 6 people or 3 couples at each table. We knew beforehand what we were cooking and were given a booklet with the recipes and instructions. Each pair took a part of the meal; one couple took the salad and dessert (beet and goat cheese with prosciutto salad), one took the two sides (leeks and polenta) and the last couple cooked the main entree (hen). Our teachers name was Tony, she wasted no time getting us started. She circulated the room helping us as we got stuck or had questions. She also showed us different techniques and gave us tips. The class was also byob or you could help yourself to the red or white wine provided. I didn't feel like I was ever waiting on Tony or not being helped. If I was ever waiting, there were two other couples that we were chatting with and getting to know.  I also liked that we didn't have to worry about the cleanup as there was another worker who cleaned all of the dishes we used. At the end when everything was prepared we all sat down together to eat what we made. It was awesome! I really enjoyed this class and will likely be going again. I think it is a great gift idea as well! More...

We had an absolute blast at our private event yesterday. Gaynor was friendly, funny and so informative. I came home with lots of little tips I can apply for everyday cooking in the kitchen! This was my first time trying out a class and I will definitely be back! It’s a perfect little date night stop or something fun to do with a group of your girlfriends for a birthday or bachelorette party. Food was delicious, kitchen was large, clean and portions were prepped ahead for us.. overall we had a wonderful time. There were 6 of us in our small group but we prepare everything and worked together to make an appetizer, orange tarragon chicken with herbed rice and garlic broccoli. The sauce was SO good! We were all so surprised how amazing our creme brûlée for dessert turned out. Try Gaynor’s classes out..you won’t be disappointed! More...

Loved that I learned how to create new foods and taste what I had cooked, and enjoyed meeting new people and interacting with them. Only rating four stars because I felt it was less of a “lesson” and more of place to hang out and mingle with new people. Cooking will take place in groups of about six, depending on the amount of people who signed up. You’ll work more as a team, and less one on one. So, if somebody in your group likes to take the reigns and do most of the work, you won’t get to participate much. Recipe sheets are available for you to take home, so you can try your hand at cooking the dishes on your own. Our instructor, Josh, was very helpful. One review mentioned that the instructor does everything for you, but that wasn’t the case. Josh helped us when we needed it and showed us proper technique, but he let us do the cooking, which I appreciated. We took the Sushi making class, and actually got to make much more than sushi. We created a unique soup, dumplings, spring rolls, egg roles, as well as a California roll, inside out veggie roll, and shrimp roll. We were instructed on proper food handling, the correct way to make sticky rice, and we also learned the proper technique to cutting fish. You get your money’s worth because you get to meet new people, learn several recipes, create them in somebody else’s kitchen without having to do the dishes, and get to eat a lot! More...

My husband and I were looking for something fun to do on a date night and I suggested a cooking class, so he researched and found Gaynor school of cooking. The class wasn't very large it only consisted of about 12 people which was very comfortable considering the amount of space we cooked in. The goal was to follow the instructions on the menu to prepare a meal for seven people including Gaynor. We work together as a team preparing the food dicing slicing blending puréeing sautéing and boiling. The cooking took about 2 1/2 hours and the eating part took about one hour. Our menu consisted of a warm eggplant salad sweet potatoes and lemon and ginger sauce salmon with dill sauce stirfry broccoli and garlic and for dessert we had a chocolate pie. The instructions were written very well and everything was very easy to prepare the only downside was that I assumed that I would actually be learning a technique but instead I just followed recipe directions as if I were at home.Maybe they offer private classes where you can actually learn which knife his properties for cutting meat versus bread or how to even hold a knife but the class that we took I think was just a general cooking class.I would definitely attend the class again the food was excellent and the company was as well plus the hubby and I got to experience something new. I'm a little sad to have just completed Fine Cooking I last night. I loved it! I have never taken a cooking class before but I have wanted to learn how to use the correct techniques for years. I'm a decent at-home cook with years of "Mom Cooking" but very little refined cooking experience . This class helped me gain so much confidence in my own kitchen because I had the opportunity to make soufflé, reductions, use shallots for everything (who knew?), and learn basic knife skills. Yesterday, Andrew taught me how to chiffonade plus I made an aoili! I was thrilled!Andrew is an incredible teacher. He is knowledgeable and obviously very skilled as a chef, but he makes it all very accessible to the students. The tone of the classes are light and fun--never stuffy. I can't wait to take Fine Cooking II! More...

When I signed up for the Art of Fine Cooking I expected to learn some basic skills to help me to do daily weeknight meals for my family as well some ocasional nicer meals. I couldn't be happier with Gaynor School of Cooking. I am constantly applying my new knowledge at home and not only I am much more confident cooking but I can say I am enjoying it very much. Gaynor is a fantastic instructor and has a lot of experience in many types of cousines. Everyday I walk into a new class and I see the menu I think to myself -  no way we can cook all this fancy stuff in half day. Gaynor makes everything seem so easy  with her lively and entertaining personality that food always turns out amazing. And we get to take home lots of recipes using the techniques learned on that day. The best part is that every Friday I get to learn while having fun with my classmates as well as enjoy a nice meal prepared by us (appetizer, salad, entree, desert ad sometimes even more!!!)Liked it so much that I have already enrolled in another class and had my daughter's 7th Bday party there. Her party was a success - kids had so much fun with the experience and I heard that some of the guests even prepared the meals they learned to cook at home - party was conducted by Francine who happens to be very talented with kids, being a retired kindergarten teacher herself.
