This hotel was adequate. The best thing about it is the location, as we could walk into the town, to the rock and to the beach. The room was clean and spacious, with a grey, institutional vibe. It allows dogs but was not particularly dog-friendly; we did not realize until we arrived that the room we had chosen and the sundeck were both off-limits. However it did have a dog potty area. The free coffee in the lobby was a nice touch. Customer service was awkward, like they either didn't like people or didn't know how to talk to them. There is no staff on-site overnight, which was unfortunate because the family above us made a ton of ruckus after midnight. We had to leave a voicemail with the night manager number, but it wasn't clear whether anyone actually got our message or tried to do anything about it. I wouldn't trust the fridge. We put leftovers in there, but they were cool (not cold) and smelled "off."Overall we were not so satisfied that we would automatically stay here again, but it wasn't so bad that we'd avoid it, either. The staff here is very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again. La Serena Inn checked all of my boxes: clean, reasonably priced, and within walking distance of great restaurants. Our room had a view of Morro rock. I forgot a usb wall adaptor and the staff lent me one of theirs. The fact they went above and beyond to provide this made the stay more memorable. Also, the hotel has a bird watching theme. I thought that was very cool. More...

1/5BE SAFE... LOOK ELSEWHERE... I was relocating and having a boat brought down and furnished, etc. I needed a hotel for an extended period of time. I spent approximately three months at the inn. In the beginning it appeared to be a safe place. I was in a room directly under the night manager. There flooring is not up to code. I heard all activity that went on in her room. In my opinion, hard surface flooring was put in with NO insulation (building code violation) ... Issue number one...Nightly noise from 9:45pm - 4:00am. Issue number 2... Night manger had her boyfriend and his father staying ...living with her. I phoned 911 twice on December 6th , 2022 after midnight both times due to what sounded like the night manager being killed. A man yelling in alley under my window directly after calling the ER number for inn to ask for disturbance to stop. She tells me its a guest and she will chat with them. She comes to my door after to inform me the yelling outside was directed towards myself... He was threatening me and he was the one responsible for the disturbance above. He was screaming "I will kill you... You're a dead"N"... over and over. She said she would handle it. I phoned 911 for the second time after what sounded like her head was being pounded into the floor... dispatcher heard the noise on the call. I phoned ER for the third time that night no answer. I was given a back up ER number for the other night manager... I phoned it and she arrived when police were here. The boyfriends father threatened physical harm towards the other night manager. A supervisor (stacy) was notified and I overheard entire call which took place with law enforcement present. I overheard Stacy instruct night manger NOT to include in report ... she would handle it. Stacy had the night manger ask me to keep this quiet due her referring the night manager that was being abused. She was embarrassed. I over heard the other night manager inform Stacy boyfriend threatened me and the father threatened her. The night manager before leaving that night let me know Stacy would be in contact to correct issue. Due to being asked to stay quiet I did not notify Nick (manager for the inn). I trusted they were working on how to correct issue with myself. I checked out on Christmas. Not one manager apologized much less acknowledged issue. During check out I was informed Nick was holding a room for me in case I needed to return due to weather and being on boat. At the time, I trusted that was done for corrective measures purposes. I DID NOT REQUEST HIM TO HOLD A ROOM. NO, it was not. I did return due to storm. I asked to be put in another room due to flooring issue and they claimed I could only be in another room for two nights then I would need to move back over. I had asked for front desk staff to come hear how noise transmits down and she declined. I struggle with PTSD... that threat sent me into a deep ptsd episode. I knew I would need to address issue with corporate due issue never being resolved. Felicia claimed she knew nothing of issue. Nick claimed he knew nothing. Claimed no nightly REPORTS are required from night managers. Quality management right there. Stacy phoned and did her best at apologizing... Lying... stated she did not know I was involved. After overhearing her on the phone... night manger telling her to hold on why she tells me "Stacy needs you to keep quiet". I was transparent with corporate. Nick phoned me and claimed owner felt threatened because I "used building codes" in my email to him. He needed me to leave. NOT one time was management concerned with a PAYING GUEST BEING THREATENED TO BE KILLED by an employee's boyfriend. Building codes are apparently more threatening than being killed. No respect for the their management abilities. No decency and concern for human life. I thanked Nick for doing me favor. It is clear I do not fit in where there is poor... low-level management on property and that decision cost them a law suit. Took video of condition of room when leaving due to fear they would charge for nonexistent damage. CANCELLED my card... thats how much I disrespect their business practices. Grateful I did after reading reviews. Guests are forced to take stairs with luggage... while desk staff sit an watch... my stay was approx three months at least 40% of that time elevator was out of order. I only witnessed two desk staff offer help the rest do nothing. Staff is allowed to bring toddlers to work and lay on sofa with food and shoes all over floor. I was paying for a hotel not a day care. LOW LEVEL ALL THE WAY AROUND.DISRESPECTFUL TOWARDS GUESTS... HINDERS THE EXPERIENCE. QUALITY MANAGEMENT AT ITS FINEST is what they claim... CLEARLY THERE IS A DISCONNECT AND THEY HAVE NO BUSINESS IN GUSEST SERVICES, PERIOD. More...

I had two goals in mind: 1) a nice, clean place to stay and 2) a nice view of Morro Rock. Both goals were fully met at La Serena Inn! Room was spacious and had a balcony that we kept open during our stay. Hearing the gulls and seals from the bay was wonderful and soothing. Short walk to the Embarcadero where we had dinner and watched the sunset. Breakfast was offered but didn't partake... we had gone out the following morning to watch the sunrise off the beach which was literally a couple minute drive. Just a side note, the parking spaces are a little tight at the inn- I was driving a mini-van and it took some maneuvering to get into certain spots. I would certainly book here again as long as I was sure to receive a room with "the view". More...

We had a comfy 3-night stay here. The bed was very comfortable, the furnishings were nice, and we loved our corner balcony view of the bay! We appreciated the breakfast room (included with the stay). More...

well when we stay there in July 15th to the 17th we had an ant problem in the room they didn't have a room that we could switch to and then they sprayed this eco-friendly bug spray which didn't kill the ants and we could smell the chemical they had to do it that night and the following day they were still ants and all they gave me was $45 back onto the bill.

Traveling up from LA for a family event, we made our reservation last-minute on a June weekend. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and comfort of the accomodations. We stayed in Room 209: my traveling companion and I had requested two queen beds and loved the spaciousness and cleanliness of the room. Amenities included in-room tea and coffee, cable TV, free Wi-Fi and one free parking spot in the lot (there seemed to be plenty of space available on the street as well.) Continental breakfast was included; the hostess of the breakfast room was friendly and helpful with questions about local sights. Being a chilly June night, we did turn on the heater; unfortunately, every time it turned on it made a loud rattling noise, waking us up on and off throughtout the night. Maybe ear plugs would be helpful? We certainly needed that coffee in the morning. Location is great; we were able to walk around downtown Morro Bay as well as out to the water. It wouldn't be too far to walk all the way to Morro Rock itself. We would stay at La Serena again if in the area. More...
