Like Vinny, our Daughter, Katelyn was diagnosed with a life threatening heart condition called Anomalous coronary artery at the age of 13. In her case, it was the right artery. We were devastated. My son was sent to the emergency room. During his time there the hospital emergency room staff lied, deceived, and manipulated us. Feeling hijacked by doctors and social workers my family was forced to comply with treatment recommendations we did not agree with. The the staff kept us out of the loop regarding my son's treatment. Then we were notified after the fact of a process that took place without our consent. I have never felt so disempowered, belittled and helpless as a parent. We were not consulted nor collaborated with and when I asked for help. I was invited to a meeting only to push forward what THEY said had to happen. We were denied so many basic considerations related to my son's treatment I felt compelled to write and share about this painful experience during one of my families most difficult times. This is by far the worst experience we have ever had. Nobody cares about the patients and finding the right treatment. They give you hope but never act on it. This was the case for our daughter (for 2 years) and also for another patient that was in the same room as our child.
Beware: They will even send a psychiatrist in the room, in order to make you believe that the pain is not real, it’s in her or his mind…. We kicked her out of the room.

I was told we were lucky to be at Boston Children's... the neglect, abuse and discrimination my child has experienced there is unconscionable!
The Behavior Response Team should be ashamed of themselves with their lack of trauma informed care, use of threats, punishment and a criminal level of overuse of restraints.
Leaving a child sitting in urine for hours, forced to sit on the floor to eat, medications missed and meals missed because staff lost track of time, being restrained for yelling and swearing too much... at this time it is not a safe hospital! More...

There seems to be a lot of misinformation on their page when it comes to circumcision, I've directly contacted the hospital asking for sources so that they could provide evidence for what they claim or to explain it and prove that it wasn't intentionally lying to parents in order to convince them into paying for an irreversible cosmetic surgery on their kids genitals that is largely a net negative with benefits are are essentially worthless such as the UTI reduction which is normally claimed to be 1 UTI prevented over 111 lifetimes. ..
The big one being that they claim its easier to clean for the parents... this implies that a parent needs to retract a kids foreskin, they dont... If they do then its called forced retraction and it can be damaging. Clean what is seen More...
