Working with FoxLin has been a very special experience. Our project was an extensive remodel and addition. This home has been in my family for over 60 years and has many rich memories, since it was the home I grew up in since I was 1 year old. Juintow and Melissa listened to our vision for the home and have not only met our expectations, but have exceeded them. BNR Development & Investment LLC has two parcels of land in LaCosta neighborhood of the City of Carlsbad. In the year 2016, we started searching for an architectural design group, which is young, dynamic and has tireless energy to meet challenges of approval process with the City. We met with a few design groups in their offices till we came across FoxLin. We found them readily willing to take up the challenges.
We are impressed with their amiability, their prompt attention to our thoughts and ideas. FoxLin has been meeting deadline on both projects with the City. I had the pleasure of working with Foxlin Architects on a new restaurant in Irvine. The place was completely transformed from a stark banquet hall into an elegant high-end restaurant. Stylistically they were able to match our current branding and yet create a unique space all of it’s own. The design included an amazing wine wall, water fountains and custom booth seating and sculptures. The interior is complemented by two outdoor areas complete with intimate custom fire-pits. We were pleased with their professionalism in dealing with the health department and the Irvine Company to get this job done. Michael (Fox) and Juintow (Lin) are Foxlin, a terrific team of architects - very knowledgeable and professional - who guided us through a major remodel of our 1975 house (including adding a spacious and sunny breakfast area and stunning state-of-the art kitchen). They exceeded expectations in every aspect of the project - from creative conceptualizing, to beautiful design sketches and drawings, to detailed plans that were appropriate for permit approval and construction, to ensuring via on-site visits that everything went as expected (or better!).

Juintow and Michael couldn't have been easier to work with during the entire, lengthy process, never losing patience with us as we cogitated, hesitated, iterated, and inched forward in the process. The result was fantastic - more than a year after completion we are still giddy about the transformation of our 40-year-old tract house into a spectacular model home.

We are so pleased with the transformation of our office space. It was completely gutted. The project involved moving the stair case creating 2 functional private offices in the loft. I have worked with FoxLIn on a number of projects. Both Michael and Juintow have a passion for architectural design, and it shows. They often try multiple options and question their own decisions in an effort to pursue the best design proposal possible, including considerations of budget and programmatic function in addition to aesthetics. Michael has a great knowledge of how buildings go together and Juintow is a master at programming the most complicated scenarios into simple clear workable plans. Everything they do is in 3-d which is also very helpful every time we have a meeting to clearly understand what they are talking about. I really enjoy that they make every project much less stressful than other architectural offices and they still manage to get things done on time and through the city. One of the keys to their success is being able to meet their client's expectations while managing the project's budget and schedule. Juintow was great. She came out and met with me to discuss my project including my style and what I needed. She provided full architecture drawings and services that I needed. Juintow has a great sense of style, but not at the expense of practicality, which is key for us, with a family of 5. She has her own family to draw on, and had many thoughtful ideas we would not have considered to make family life easier.

We have a fairly complicated renovation, with zoning restrictions and minimal space to work with, and she spent a lot of time doing the dirty work of calling the village and taking care of these painful details.

Her work speaks for itself if you can see her projects, but is how easy she is to work with that really sets her apart.

When I and my husband bought a new house, the bathrooms were badly in need of a remodel. It was a complicated house, and the remodel was not going to be simple either. We hired Juintow Lin, of FoxLin Architects partly because she had worked for Marmol-Radziner, whose design aesthetics we admired greatly, but mostly because we felt she gave us a really good deal and seemed very professional. I have to say hiring her was the best thing we could have done.

Juintow came up with endless design possibilities for our 3 bathrooms, and laundry room. She interviewed all the contractors with us. Even drove me to the sites where they were working so I could assess their work. She broke down the bids of the three contractors we short-listed, so we could compare them more easily. She reviewed their contracts and helped us hire the best possible contractor for the job. When I was out of the country, she skyped with me daily, despite the 12 hour time difference, to finalize the materials and fixtures for the bathrooms, and followed up with the suppliers to have all the things ready before the project started. She was on site and in touch with the contractor constantly. There is not a single time I can think of, when we called or emailed her with some issue and she didn't call back and have multiple solutions. She spent hours trying to resolve issues with suppliers. Not only was Juintow extremely creative, and a thorough professional, she was patient, accommodating, and a real pleasure to work with. My bathrooms are absolutely gorgeous.

I had the pleasure of working with FoxLin Architects on the Mojave Ranch, 40-acre residential community development project in 2006.

We truly felt like we were getting a tremendous value throughout the process as the FoxLin team always delivered excellent, innovative work, on-time. Michael and Juintow are both very experienced architects, designers, and project managers who understand the design and construction processes.

Michael's expertise in design, fabrication and construction brought an invaluable asset to the project, which shows in the quality and attention to detail in all of FoxLin's work. Juintow also brings her design, project and practice management, and sustainability knowledge to the table. They are experts in their respective fields of research and have written books on robotics, fabrication, and sustainability. This industry-leading research and their involvement in academia was important in translating thought-provoking ideas into tangible and profitable architecture, and ultimately great homes for our future residents to live.

As the owner, we could not have been happier throughout the project. We count on several things from the design team, most importantly quality designs that we could not have conceived on our own. Michael and Juintow were great team members, as they (unlike many architects) were constantly concerned about our project, program, and budget goals. This ensured that what they were designing molded perfectly with the criteria we established as the developer.

My husband and I worked with FoxLin Architects on our custom ground up home in Carlsbad (north of San Diego), California and we would very highly recommend them. The home is now complete and it is remarkable down to the last detail. We felt like our values were always considered and we had countless conversations about even the smallest of details from paint colors to the cabinetry handles. At times we questioned the proposals and in the end we could see and now can understand their vision.

Juintow and Michael are both very talented, innovated and experienced architects, designers, and project managers who can easily show many iterations on the computer as well as obtain countless physical samples of tiles, stain samples etc. This level of personal dedication and attention to detail is what constantly put us at ease on the design of our new home. 


The bottom line is that we count on them for envisioning designs and that is also what set them apart from others. It is also worth mention that they were always grounded enough to understand our budget and make not only beautiful, but also realistic proposals.
