We ate here a couple nights ago and it was pretty good! I had the Steak Oscar and it was amazing! I also enjoyed a good dry rose wine as well! Good service. The only thing I'd say is they need to truly have online reservations for the restaurant. I selected a time and then received an email confirmation thinking we were good to go. Went here with my parents and they are a bit picky when it comes to food. They don't really wanna eat a burger or have pizza. A nice fish or steak place is something that they enjoy. That limited what i could look for around Sandpoint where most places have burgers and pizza places. My mom had already made reservations for a different restaurant but I looked at reviews and it seems dicey. Maybe it was good maybe it wasn't. I didn't really wanna take the chance. So I decided on this place and boy was this place amazing! The bisque was amazing! Cocktails were a lot which is always a plus in my book because if I'm paying 7-8 bucks on it I want to feel it! My mom and brother got the chicken Marsalla and they said it was pretty good! I got the penne puttanesca which was amazing! I'm really into a lot of flavor with my food so it really hit the spot! And then my dad had the streak and mushrooms and he said it was delicious! We then decided on a dessert which was the Creme Brulé and that was to die for! We had a phenomenal experience with Cassandra and the staff!  The food was exquisite and service was outstanding.  Cassandra provided excellent customer service and was very flexible with the needs of our party.  Customer service and appreciation for business are lacking in our area, but Forty-One South is definitely conducting business as all businesses should.  We are looking forward to being regular patrons here.  Good job for providing quality food, outstanding customer service, and flexibility of meeting special requirements for special occasions.  Your dedication and commitment to overall guest satisfaction are most appreciated.  Please continue doing what you are doing! What a lovely evening. We had a table by the window overlooking the water. Our server Madison was very good...even though she had what looked like an 8-top at the same time! Our filets, both the smoked and oscar were delicious and extremely tender. My only issue, and it was slight, was that the broccolini was cold.  We enjoyed the smoked trout appetizer...yum, preserved lemons. Best place in Sandpoint, also comes with a view!  Something you don't always get given you are on the largest lake in Idaho. All of the snowbirds and out of town tourists keep giving this place bad reviews!  Because you don't have a clue about what your talking about!  This is Sandpoint ID, population 8K.  Hard to find help, hard to keep the doors open in the off season.  Yet this place goes out of their way to give you the best of Sandpoint.   Keep those tables open for the locals! First off very spendy but very worth it! We went here last night for our 15th wedding anniversary dinner so it was just the two of us. I had the shroom steak (I am sure it was close to that name lol) it was so yummy it came with mashed red potatoes and green beans the sauce on the steak was so good it left me wanting more. My steak was a little under cooked so it was chewy but still overall good. My husband got the full rack of ribs, it was huge it came with super yummy frys and green beans (which I stole) he barely made it through half the ribs that's how big this dish was. The ribs were so tender he was just peeling the bones right off!! After we shared the brownie desert, this was hands down the best brownie I have ever had and I make a pretty amazing brownie it is for sure a must have! The staff was always great and my water glass was never empty or not for long. We sat outside on the deck with a view of the river, it was amazing and so romantic! We will be back but again because it's so spendy we will probably only be back for special occasions. My steak was $24 (cheapest steak dish on the menu the rib eye was $35) Husbands ribs were $28 (half rack was $15 if I remember correctly) he had a beer $5 (on tap golden ale really good and I hate beer) and the brownie was $6 (so worth it) our whole dinner after tip was a little over $75 for the 2 of us. Beautiful location. Started with a wedge salad, $7, that was wonderful - great blue cheese dressing and the candied cinnamon walnuts were a great non-traditional addition. My husband and I both had the trout, $25, served with a mustard sauce, rice and green beans. The fish was slightly overcooked and the kitchen was a little heavy handed with the sauce. Stopping through on a road trip and I wanted to go someplace nice and not just McDonald's and this was definitely an amazing spot to stop. The owner of the restaurant was bartending that night and she was incredibly nice and the food was amazing. I sat at the bar and chatted with other people coming in and when I asked for dessert to go they didn't hesitate and they made sure that I had silverware so that I could eat desert while I drove for the next 3 hours. I definitely want to come back to the West Coast just to go the town around this Resort. And I would definitely stop through here again if I make it out this way. More...

We were part of a large (20+ people) party, and I was very impressed with the staff's ability to handle such a big crowd, making us feel welcome and valued and well taken care of. The setting here is beautiful, especially sitting on one of the outside terraces on a warm summer evening, listening to live music and enjoying the lake views. Wow - the clerk at the hotel recommended this place as a "not to miss" experience and he was right!   We were seated right before sunset, right at the edge of the patio overlooking the lake.  We tried their two huckleberry infused cocktails - both delicious! We had a late lunch and didn't want to order much, but the menu was fabulous.  We tried their smoked trout appetizer, served with crisp cucumber slices and thin lavosh. Seasoned with crispy capers and lemon zest, it was a delight!  The wedge salad featured the local Lighthouse blue cheese, and the bread was yummy as well.  We decided to split the Ribeye steak, and they were gracious to split it for us for a slight upcharge that gave us each full sides of asparagus and potatoes.  The asparagus was grilled perfectly, and the potatoes were mashed with the skins. The one thing we were disappointed with was the massive amount of pepper on the steak.  We both like pepper, but this was too much. The exterior of the steak was not charred as you would expect.  We really wanted to order dessert because they looked fabulous but we were just too full. Very nice white tablecloth restaurant in a beautiful setting.  The service was excellent and the food was very good.We started with a cup of the stone crab chowder and it was superb.  I had the diver scallops which came with a crispy risotto cake and green beans.  My partner had the duck confit with rice pilaf and green beans.  Both dishes were perfectly prepared and delicious.We are looking forward to a return trip to Northern Idaho, and will definitely make this restaurant a priority. Pleasant evening meal; but some misses that stopped it getting 5 stars. When I made the reservation I had asked for a romantic seating as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. When we arrived they did not seemed to have made any note about that; there are no bad views but we could have been seated in better spots. Lamb sliders and flatbread Napoleon apps were delicious. The mains were less successful and that maybe because they both involved rice. I had the duck confit which was done well, with crispy skin and fall off the bone meat; however the risotto was more mushy than creamy. My hubby had the Paella which was definitely a miss. It did not have the crispy base that comes when it is cooked in a paella pan and the rice was not fluffy. The seafood was overcooked and the sausage burnt; over all it resembled a cross between risotto and jumbayla. Pend o'reille lake offers other fine restaurants with equally nice views and so a little hard to give this place 5 stars when the price does not justify the quality. More...

Best date spot in Idaho. It sits right on the lake side and has a beautiful view during the sunsets... we went and had a beautiful sunrise and live music which was quite a treat. No, nothing super crazy loud live music but just a dude singing some songs while playing the guitar. it was a perfect night for me and my girlfriend. They have wonderful mixed drinks, the waiters are awesome and know their menu which is so refreshing to hear... Our food was amazing, the potatoes were fantastic and melted in your mouth. The steak that I had was top notch and at medium rare it was one of the better steaks I have had in quite some time. The lady friend had a beautiful piece of salmon and it was cooked perfect. We will be back for sure but i HOPE next time we show up they have copper cups for their moscow mules!!! More...

We enjoyed our meal here for sure! We had a great server, the building and the setting were beautiful, and the food was tasty. They have some micro brews on tap (5 maybe?) and good drink selection. My mom enjoyed her Rosemary cocktail. So why not 5 stars? The food was good but the price point didn't quite reflect the quality of the food. My cedar plank salmon didn't taste fresh and I had a bite of the golden trout and it also didn't seem fresh. That being said it was tasty but I have had many other meals that cost the same but are better. Their menu has some unique/creative items on it so bonus points for that! So delicious!!We traveled here to visit family over the Thanksgiving weekend and wanted to spoil ourselves a little. We were immediately welcomed and felt right at home. Our waiter, Paul, was great and offered up daily specials (bangers and mash) and appetizers. I've heard from the family that the steak is the best so I ordered the pirogis and followed by the Steak Oscar.Talk about incredible. I wish I could have eaten more! The pirogis were so delicious - I felt like I wanted to eat the whole plate (but graciously left a few bites for the other half).The steak oscar was great! Lived in sandpoint almost my whole life and never made it in. Went there for my anniversary and LOVED it!! Waiter was awesome, feel was great, food was outstanding! I had a salad with dried cherry and habanero vinaigrette. I would buy a bottle of the dressing if I could! We walked out spending $53.00 for two people (including wine, excluding tip). Visited from Las Vegas, so my expectations are quite high. Fantastic view of the lake, definitely dine outside here if weather permits! Light drizzle of balsamic on the Caesar salad was a pleasant twist on a classic. Best Linguini and Clams I've had in quite a while. Wine list was very good, staff was friendly and they had to keep moving, it was busy. Dessert list was most impressive.
