So I really wanted to like this place because the concept is great. They have a pretty big menu and the options look delicious. The first time I came here I ordered the vegan Mac n cheese, which I couldn't even finish because it was not good at all. My bf ordered the avocado toast, which was basically soggy and did not have a "toast" crunch to it. I must admit the kung pao cauliflower was delicious. Decided to give this place another try and went for the vegan sausage which was pretty good, definitely an upgrade from the vegan Mac n cheese. My bf ordered a burger which he said was extremely good. Again we ordered the Kung pao cauliflower which was even tastier than the first time. Because I had such different experiences with the food, I am a little skeptical to try again. Besides the food, the service was great, our server was very attentive and went into detail in explaining the best options in their menu. I'm thinking I'll try it one more time and I'll update with my experience! I must say that you should at least try the cauliflower because it's something that they seem to be getting right every time! More...

Well I finally made it to Prohibition Kitchen in Pt Jeff. Due to the previous Yelp reviews about how crowded, but small, the restaurant is, I figured I would get takeout. I ordered the Dirty Mother Clucker chicken sandwich. I was impressed how the waitress could take my order and not laugh after repeating the title of the sandwich. Which I think is whimsical. When I got home the sandwich came with potato chips. They do serve shoestring french fries for a $3 up-charge. I think they should nix the potato chips-this ain't no ballpark. Give customers french fries instead. Especially if you're paying $17 for a sandwich. To my pleasant surprise, I forgot that the sandwich bun is a large glazed doughnut. On the sandwich, there's lettuce, tomato, raw red onion, pickle & chorizo sauce-which I did not get. The chicken was good, as well as the donut. Now, it has to be over 1000 calories, but this was a cheat day for me. Well, Prohibition Kitchen, will definitely get my business in the future, especially for their dessert that I saw on the menu. Good place to take someone for the 1st time, menu item names, presentation are both great conversation starters. Well done! More...

Good but the cocktails took 40 minutes because "they're handcrafted". Menus fantastic though and the cauliflower bites were AMAZING

Service: 3 Food: 5 I was on the fence about giving this place 4 stars because the service was slow as hell, but because of the food, I decided to change my mind. This goes without saying: if you come here, be ready to wait! But it's worth the wait... The food is absolutely delightful. The menu has so many options: from ribeye steak to beyond burgers, fried donuts and tomato bisque, vegan and vegetarian! There is also a hearty alcohol selection: mules, ciders, Mexican hot chocolate. Yum! My friend and I started off dinner with a grilled cheese donut and tomato bisque, accompanied by a beyond burger with chips. Again: Worth the wait. The tomato bisque was so hearty, warm, and tasteful. Dipping in that fried donut and cheese was foodie heaven. I loved it so much I even dipped my burger in! I couldn't get enough of the flavor. We ended the night with the banana cheesecake egg roll, which is fried and garnished with Nutella and Carmel. Again, yum! What a great way to end the night. I couldn't eat it all fast enough. The food melts in your mouth and you don't want to put the food down. I will certainly be coming back... but I worry about getting hangry while waiting! Busy Thursday night. Imagine the weekends?! Clean bathroom in the back with a barrel for a sink. Fun drink items and wait staff. Yay! More...

Lisa and Tom, I'll always be a fan. Heck, we all know I'm essentially a baby PK mascot. But, I really want to encourage you guys to return some of the healthier options to the menu. The "Thinking about the gym" hummus was awesome! Can we get a sweet potato hummus / crudite platter with fresh raw local veggies and some pickled onion accents? How about a rice bowl with quinoa, chickpea, veggies, and a coconut curry sauce?! Resurrect the cauliflower wings, but cut them into smaller pieces, roasted for longer with buffalo or peanut Thai flair. I would love to see 3-4 dishes on the menu, taking notes from businesses like Purple Elephant and Tula Kitchen, which do health conscious comfort food. Please ! A girl can dream. More...

Love the Hotsey Totsey. Only thing I order. What kills me is the generic drop ceiling tiles. Really ruins the rustic and comforting decor. It is all about the details. It's like the owner said, we're only going to focus on 95% of details, but f@ck that ceiling. A bland shit!y office ceiling will do. Half ass'ed. Food is exceptional though with the exception of only offering soup during hours that no one who has responsibilities during the week can take advantage of. French Onion Soup is only available on Mondays from 11 - 4. I'm at work as is a million other people. Anywho, love the food. Hate the ceiling. More...

Food was fun, delicious, and unique. I had a fruity pebbles waffle and shared the PBJ wings. I'll have to come for dinner and try some of the drinks next time. The space is small, and as it is understandably popular, it can be a bit of a wait, so be prepared for that. My only critique is that the menu could be more descriptive. One of the people I was with was surprised by her dish when it came out, and the other found bacon cooked into his kale waffle, which wasn't mentioned on the menu. More...

Prohibition is a pretty small restaurant but we were able to get a seat that night. We ordered the Big Boy Pretzel which was massive and crispy and the condiments it came with were pretty good. I also thought the Shrimp Po Boy was tasty. I got the vegan mac and cheese, and since they didnt have vegan cheese atm, they substituted it with regular cheese. I think that while the mac and cheese was okay, the vegan meat in there was actually terrible and I would advise against eating it. While that vegan meat probably made my experience more like 3 stars, I gave it 4 stars because I havent tried out the drinks which seem cool, and I think everything else we ordered was good. More...

Amazing service (Lucy was our server and she was excellent), food and drinks came out so quick when on a busy Sunday afternoon, great atmosphere, food was top notch, very creative menu and concept, prices weren't too high and portions were good without being too over the top, live music was good and not too loud like a lot of restaurants (still able to hold a conversation with people at your table). This place really nailed it. Will definitely be returning!! More...

We waited all summer to try the new place in town. Cute and inviting. Service was outstanding! I found the menu somewhat disorganized and lacking in the basics like salads. The one root vegetable salad was outstanding and we gobbled it up quickly. However the veggies were just tiny cubes and sparse and the price at 16 was too steep. The fried fish in a bowl with lettuce was very overpriced at 19. Dessert was outstanding. A mounds sundae was awsome. But prices way too steep. More...

Prohibition Kitchen is a new hot spot in downtown Port Jeff. They offer a great selection of comfort cuisine and drinks. This place is small but very cozy, the staff is super friendly and attentive. Their cuisine has variety of dishes but heavily southern kitchen oriented. Their specials are very nice, they'll usually have a drink, appetizer ,main course and a dessert special on top of the regular menu items. Our favorite was the egg rolls and the fried rice. They also have some serious desserts here as well. All the menu items are priced fair so this place doesn't really break the bank. There's also plenty of parking both on the street and the back. If you're in the mood for some good comfort food make sure to stop by and try Prohibition down Port Jeff. More...

Came here for lunch last Friday with a friend. The atmosphere is very cute! We were seated quickly and our waitress came over shortly. We couldn't decide what to eat because there were so many options but I ordered a s'mores latte which ended up being delicious! We eventually decided what we wanted to eat. I went with breakfast and ordered the hash brown Benedict and my friend ordered the donut grilled cheese with tomato soup. My entree was good but the corn beef hash was a little too salty for me. My friend the soup and grilled cheese was good too. I would come back but only if you're looking to eat unhealthy. There were very few healthy-ish options in the menu. There was a lot of friend chicken, donut, and heavy comfort foods on the menu. Definitely somewhere I'd bring my fiancé! More...
