Mr Acosta prefers to take a different approach to teaching little ones about MMA.  His approach is one about focus (obviously. .. It's in the name!), it's about discipline, about encouragement, redirecting and POSITIVE words.Classes start as early as 3yrs old.  Much like a gym, you are free to take classes on any day of the week that is offered for your age group.  This is perfect for little ones because if they get sick on one day, I'm free to skip our preferred class and attend class another day without having to pay a penalty fee.Class rates are highly affordable and extend out for six months.  After enrolling our twins, I found out the third person in the household would be free... So... guess who else will be taking MMA ;)If all this isn't enough to be sold, I highly suggest trying out the class with the great deal they currently offer:  For $20 you get the first two classes and your gi (uniform).  Sweet! The instructor is great with kids, and knows how to get the most unruly youngster to focus on self-control while still having fun. It's not just for classes - he also occasionally offers little field trips. Anything to keep them out of your hair for an afternoon, right? For adults, this is an awesome place to get a great workout while having fun. No one is training to become a professional fighter, just to stay in shape, learn a practical skill, and have a good time. The people are friendly and the workouts are hard. You can do a free class to see whether you like it, but make sure you call first to let the instructor know.Last I checked, adult classes were at 6:45pm every weeknight (no Friday class) , and 1:30pm on Saturday. Perfect for coming after a stressful work day. More...

What makes this school stand out in comparison with the other places in the neighborhood is the dedicated personal follow-up from the teacher. And with several daily classes a week, you can easily fit it into your busy agenda. I've tried several of the MMA gyms/clubs/classes in the area, and ended up with this one.True, the place is small, and doesn't look as impressive as the Bruce Lee Academy down the street. But, what you really need when learning MMA is not a fancy exterior and huge classes where the teacher won't see you. Also, this place is way cheaper, about half the price of what you would pay in other gyms. This one is not in it for the money, and you won't find him talking badly of other schools. He simply loves Martial Arts, and enjoys to teach it.What Michael can give you is a tailored class, pushing you forward according to your individual needs. Further, with a wide experience in several Martial Arts and long experience from different schools, he definitely knows what he's doing. Whether you want to sign up your kid or learn MMA yourself, the classes are amazing. The unique team spirit in all the groups is for me a proof of a good school. Also, with a year following these classes, the progress the students make is evident. Finally, what made me stick to this place, is that the this place doesn't teach girls as girls. No pink gloves, no second in line to the guys. If you are looking for a really good work-out, this is simply the right place. If you're not ready to fight yet, don't worry, you won't get pushed into it. If you enjoy sparring, the more experienced students will get the chance to kick some ass. First tryout is free as well, so come check for yourself. More...
