Not the same place it once was. We went there several years ago & it was amazing! We had to make a reservation weeks in advance! They seated us & put our napkins on our laps... we had absinthe martinis where absinthe dropped from this elaborate crystal dispenser onto a sugar cube into our class. Fresh flowers everywhere! They had a sunset cheers in the garden overlooking Lake Geneva! Food was some of the best we’d ever had! It was just an awesome experience! We went back for a birthday last week. We were excited, kids brought their girlfriends. We all dressed up. We were greeted at a hostess stand by a kid in gym shorts. They had our reservation wrong but luckily could seat us (because it was EMPTY). I thought, that’s weird. Now I get it. I ordered a martini- I swear it was juice. Good, but, juice. He ordered a brandy old fashioned press. Got a whiskey sweet. Ordered 3 appetizers. Meh. Gave it a pass, it’s an appetizer. No salads, no soups. Food finally came out. HORRIBLE. Teeny medium rare filets came out butterflied & chewy, lobster was raw, “seasonal veggies” resembled coleslaw mix tossed in hot oil.... a nearly $30 Caesar salad was a small pile of iceberg lettuce and inedible chicken on top. Literally looked like a side salad. “Red potatoes” reminded me of day old KFC potato wedges. Gross. Nobody checked on us. We had to eat something- we were now there for two hours! Server came back after we’d choked down the steaks. I nicely asked for the manager... didn’t resolve much. She did refund the raw lobster tails- wouldn’t comment on anything else because we “ate it”. Whatever. I wasn’t going to make a spectacle. I paid the $350 tab & left. The kicker- 20% gratuity is included. They don’t tell you. I happened to see it in the fine print on the menu earlier. However. The server, who was nice, but dreadfully absent the entire time, scored a $55 tip. I know people have off days... this was just bad all around. We left hungry and aggravated and went to Culver’s on the way home. More...

UPDATE: Spoke with Robert from Baker House regarding policies and menu changes on the way as the restaurant continues to develop under its new ownership. Appreciate the prompt follow up discussion and look forwarding to visiting again for drinks and enjoying the updated Saturday dinner menu which will again include small plates. We’ve been coming here for years. It’s a lovely historic home with a nice bar but the menu has changed since the ownership change. No longer has the nice small plate appetizers to share on Saturday’s menu. The menu is now very heavy meals and limited - mostly seafood and steak. We were informed there would be a $10 charge to share a $23 salad from the dinner menu, which isn’t typical in a restaurant that’s less then half full on a Saturday evening. I cannot RAVE enough about the food, service and atmosphere at the Baker House! My daughter didn’t want a conventional baby shower so I decided to do something a little more upscale and chose the Baker House. From start to finish, Courtney helped me plan every detail making this the most stress free event I’ve ever planned. The food was on a different level!!! Kudos to the chef. The items on the menu are one of a kind and delicious. All my guests were beyond impressed and left having a one of a kind experience. Beyond disappointed today. I've been waiting for weeks for this "grand opening" only to find out that private tours have been happening for weeks and 2 months are pretty much fully booked for next year already which is of course when we want to get married. I was under the impression that construction was still being done through today. Had it been posted on the website that these private tours were going on, I would have booked one myself weeks ago. Things were also pretty unorganized today. We were told we had a table that just needed to be set. As we are patiently waiting for it, another group that just walked in was seated there and our group that had reservations was forced to continue to wait. It was also nearly impossible to find someone who worked for Florian park so we could ask questions. Also not a fan of some things in the contract. I was ready to book in July when they were originally supposed to open. The place is beautiful but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. It is absolutely beautiful!

My husband and I had a hard time trying to find the perfect place to get married at. We came across Florian Park on a whim and had to check it out. Immediately after pulling in we knew this was going to be the place. Kelley was our initial coordinator and was great! We had our wedding and the reception at Florian Park and I can only say outstanding things about it! Every single person we came in contact with, especially Stephanie, were absolutely amazing! We really owe a lot to Stephanie! She was on top of everything and because of her, everything was perfect! They were so accommodating in every way through our wedding planning process! We received so many compliments on the atmosphere, the food, and the staff. The food was to die for and the ambiance was wonderful! There really aren’t enough words to describe how INCREDIBLEY AWESOME our experience was from beginning to end. The venue is gorgeous. The outdoor space is just BEAUTIFUL! My husband and I could not have asked for a better venue to host our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at! As soon as we toured Florian Park, we fell in love with it and knew it was the perfect place! It's such a beautiful space, and it really doesn't take a lot to dress it up. Our ceremony took place outside, and it's just as beautiful. Stephanie was AMAZING to work with. She is the most organized and kind person to work with, and we are so grateful for her! I had my wedding here on 10-14-16 and loved every minute of it. From booking one year out and every month up until the day of the wedding was fantastic.
Stephanie is probably one of the best planners I've ever met, and she works SO hard to ensure that the bride and groom get what they want and deserve. She is so calming and kind which helps during the wedding stress! Communication is excellent and the facility is absolutely beautiful inside and out.
You will NOT be disappointed with this venue for your wedding, I promise!
