Sam is great at manual therapy treatments. I went to him for neck pain and hip issues. Sam listened to my pain complaints and could explain why and what was causing my pain. His use of scrapers, cupping and physical therapy exercises made a huge improvement in my range of motion and decreased my pain. I have recommended Sam to many people and will continue to. I first went in to see Sam with a calf strain, quad strain (d/t compensation), tricep strain, and ankle immobility. Sam systematically worked his magic with his soft tissue techniques and helped QUICKLY resolve all three strains. We've continued to work through the ankle mobility issue, which is chronic, and there's been significant improvement. Amazing knowledge of the body! As a fellow yogi, Sam understands the issues that arise from working out daily. I had a shoulder that shifted out of place and through several sessions with him, my shoulder feels so much better!! I highly recommend him!

I suffered from shoulder pain in both of my shoulders. It had gotten to the point where it was affecting my sleep. My doctor sent me to physical therapy which just caused more pain. I ended up having a cortisone shot in one shoulder just to relieve the pain. I also had limited range of motion in both shoulders. Then I found Sam. From the first session I felt relief! I had a hamstring injury that was limiting my physical activity and caring for my young children. Great full service gym and yoga studio that has built a great community feel/atmosphere. Sam Lickteig, the owner/trainer is extremely knowledge about health and fitness creating a great blend of easy to follow circuit training exercises. Sam is also great with injuries and makes suggestions for modifications and can also help release tension in sore muscles. The brand new built-in yoga studio is what really sets FlexFitness and Yoga apart from other gyms. The studio provides a great warm and relaxing atmosphere while the instructors lead you through a few different types of classes ranging from deep stretching to more heart pumping vinyasa flow yoga. Because of Sam, I pursued my personal training and yoga certifications. Sam is best at modifying weight training exercises and yoga poses to prevent injury and to help increase strength, stability and flexibility. When I started working out with Sam in August, I was sedentary with low energy, low back pain, and had trouble sleeping at night. Sam has built a great space for yoga practice, and his team of yoga instructors does a great job of making you feel welcome and offer adjustments to help you get the most out of your sessions. I started my yoga practice to help recover from a frozen shoulder and hamstring injury - physical therapy sessions simply didn't appeal to me - and I'm happy to say I'm now pain-free and not only back to my old flexibility, but actually stronger and more flexible thanks to yoga. I've been training with Sam for several years in both strength training and yoga. Sam tailors the workout (or yoga sequence) to you more than he expects you to learn a set routine. No 2 sessions are ever the same! This place has changed me in so many ways! I have been doing yoga with Sam for several years and know that he has the knowledge and experience necessary for helping me to improve my physical (and mental) health. That is why I bit the bullet last summer and started strength training. I’m not a person who has ever worked out much at all, very resistant to it, don’t feel I’m athletic... but now, I can easily say I am stronger, feel more physically confident, and my energy has increased. I have been going to Sam for years. He is the only trainer I trust with my back issues. He is very knowledgeable and is able to break certain exercises up to lessen the strain on my back but still get a great workout.
