Five Star Painting of Magnolia

We had 5 star come to paint our home in July / August 2021. Contrary to what they state on their website, they did not use premium, Hugh quality paint - they used the cheapest, lowest quality Sherwin Williams paint available. It shows every touch - if you try to clean or wipe it the swipe marks show permanently. We've contacted 5 star for help. They promised the project manager would be in touch. He has not. After 2 weeks of waiting we called back today to be disconnected, then told we'd need to wait 2 more days before they could escalate it. Unacceptable. Five star claims to have a 2 year guarantee on the work they do - but we cannot get them to stand behind that. We just used 5 star paining to repaint all our kitchen cabinets and baseboard. Our PM Michelle was great with taking ownership from start to finish making sure all our concerns were addressed and resolved. Michelle took great care in making sure before final sign off everything was to our standard . The paint crew was great as well making sure everything was good before leaving. This company's "franchisee" in Pensacola FL contracted the man currently charged with the murder of my mother, despite it being known he is a violent drug addict My mother worked for this company for years without pay and not a single donation nor even a condolence has been offered. I just move into my new home and the house need to be painted immediately. I called five star painting and they came out to look at what i wanted them to paint. We talked about what i wanted painted and discuss how i wanted it to look and what colors. On the day they came out to paint I made some changes to what we originally plan and with no problems I must say i am very impressed with how everything turn out. We used 5 star painting last year to do our kitchen cabinets and to take off the wall paper in our bathroom. They did a poor job. First they told us that it would take 4 days to do our kitchen cabinets. Paint our kitchen..take the wall paper off in the bathroom..paint the bathroom..and paint the bathroom cabinets. Then after 2 days. They told me that they were finished. All of that done in 2 days? They cut corners and did a sloppy job. They charge by doors and drawers but they never painted inside the drawer paneling. They put the drawes in up side down and when our handyman went to put on the handles thats how we found out they never painted both sides of the drawers. Now the paint is peeling off the cabinets. I took lots of pictures. Horrible. Just horrible. Just sloppy work. Buyer beware. The only good job they did was take off the wallpaper. More...

They were supposed to paint my home on appointment date 8/25/21. Painter left at 9am to get paint and never called and no showed the entire day. House never got painted. Talked to coordinator Alex and she offered to extend the job to Friday as she confirmed she did not hear from him and no paint has been purchased. They came to paint and did barely any prep. They didn’t take the vent covers off when painting the ceiling and got paint all over my light fixtures and ceiling fan. When painting the doors they didn’t even paint the whole door. There are blatant areas that they missed around the door handles and the baseboards/door frame. The entire time they were here they complained the entire time about the paint. Your job is to paint my house, not complain about the product. When they were finished for the day they just left without cleaning up after themselves. It took me over an hour to clean and to my surprise, the paint job was horrific. They had to come back to “fix” the job, which only left me more angry because the owner came and should have repainted the entire place instead of having me mark the areas that needed fixing with painters tape (that they should have used for prep) and still left it looking horrible because there are SO many problem areas. When they were “fixing” their horrible paint job they got paint all over my couches, carpets, floors, my dining room chairs..the handrails… you name it, there is paint on it. And again, complaining about the paint. I am going to have to hire someone else to come and repaint because it is that bad. The pictures they showed of their work were definitely done by a different crew because the job I got appears to be a cruel joke. The amount I paid is definitely WAY more than it is worth. The estimator told me my deck job would require 5-6 days of labor to complete. I believe that was his attempt to justify the $5952 he would charge me for the labor. Still, for that amount I expected a crew of workers that would do a flawless job. The crew of one plus a helper were on the job less than nine hours and cut several corners. They also had to be told by the home owner items that were on the work order/contract that they would not have taken care of if the homeowner were not checking on their work. I paid the man because I signed the contract but definitely believe I was ripped off and told him it was obvious he over-bid the job.
