Q&As

The basics of a great website are that it should provide the viewer with information about your company or service, be easy to use and to navigate, and have a pleasing visual design. If these are done correctly then a website should convert more customers and help to extend the brand's reach.

Depending on the type of project, we will generally start with a creative brief which is a short questionnaire for the client to fill out. It includes questions about the client's brand ethos, their competition, etc. as well as multiple-choice questions about stylistic design preferences.

If the project is a smaller-scope project that doesn't require a creative brief, then we'll generally ask about the client's design style preferences and for their content (e.i. wording, photos, existing design elements or logos).

Typically, we start with a short in-person, phone, or video meeting to kick off all of our projects. When necessary we provide the client with a creative brief to fill out and answer so that we can learn about their business, their existing brand, and have a foundation of visual preferences to design off of. After this first phase, we will begin the research and design process. When this is completed the first round of concepts will be provided to the client, this can be done in-person, on the phone, or through email. Upon receiving feedback, we will then revisit the design and provide the client with second round concepts for review. Generally, after the second round there are only minor changes left to be made until the final design is presented and packaged up for the client.

We typically start with a short in-person, phone, or video meeting to kick off all of our projects. This way we can learn about the client's business and expectations as well ask questions we have related to the project and go over our process.

We love helping businesses stand out from the crowd, learning about new businesses and industries, and creating genuine relationships with our clients.

Wanting to have more creative freedom and to build something that we could have ownership over and be proud of.

We’ve heard many stories over the years from new clients who have come to us with previous experiences of design projects being a long and painful process. Worse yet, at the end of the project they felt that they did have control or ownership over the work that had been completed and paid for. At Five & Dime we aim to correct that cycle. At the start of each project we put together a calendar that outlines an overall timeline with key dates for both Five & Dime and the client. This is to ensure that important benchmarks are met, and the project stays on schedule. Upon completion of a project, we pride ourselves on providing our clients with all of the design assets created for them along with access to files and accounts so that they are in control of their property. We don’t believe in selling clients useless ongoing “maintenance” packages or up-charging their hosting and printing costs. We believe that the best way to build a genuine, ongoing working relationship is to treat our clients the way that we would like to be treated, fairly and honestly.

Services

A Brand Identity System is the development of a logo, as well as all of the complimentary elements that makes up a company’s brand. This would include typography choices, color palette, business collateral (ie. business card, letterhead, envelope, invoices, etc), iconography, secondary graphics and logos, photo treatments, and specifications on how to use all of these elements in future applications. It is a comprehensive package that a company uses to identify themselves to their audience.

Fully customizable website's made in Webflow. Informational or e-commerce capabilities available. Design of custom packaging, point of sale displays, clothing graphics, product labels, and brand integration within product designs.

Brand and design strategy is the development of a plan of attack to implement and release a client's visual assets to their audience. It also includes a blueprint on how to visually represent your brand's mission, vision, and values so that your outward facing assets properly align with your business’ ethos.

Art direction is essentially overseeing the creative process, photoshoots, and production. We typically provide this service for brand identity systems and website clients at no additional cost.
