Q&As

For success I have to first understand what is important to my client. So I begin by trying to understand there "why". Why do they want training? For many clients they come to me for weight loss, which is fine, but if the hard work and commitment my clients have during sessions doesn't translate into positive changes outside of the training session progress is minimal. Lastly nutrition and positive thinking are very important to achieving fitness goals.

Recognizing how your life will change once you have that body. For example, will you be a faster runner, will you feel sexier and more confident, will you have the energy to play with your children...each person needs a strong why. Ultimately when the image is connected with a strong emotion a person is more driven towards their goal.

Helping others recognize their own inner strength and abilities.

In 2008 I completed my first marathon and when I crossed the finish line, after 5 hours and 10 minutes I cried ( and not because of the pain in my legs) but because I realized I could do anything. I realized the power of exercise on total well-being.
Then in 2011 I was working as a speech pathologist in a sub-acute center and had to check in on a male patient, about 65 who had had a massive stroke and an amputated leg (secondary to diabetes) and I decided I wanted to help other get and stay healthy so that they can live their life feeling fulfilled and happy.

Using my skills as a therapist, combined with my passion for health and wellness I am able to help my clients identify and reach realistic goals. But most of all I help others see the strength they have within. So often it is a lack of confidence which keeps a person from achieving their wellness goals more than any other factors.

Services

DNAFit, is the leading company in the world that assesses a persons individual DNA, using saliva, to determine how to optimize fitness and nutrition to assist individuals in achieving their wellness needs. As a DNAFit Certified Personal Trainer, when using this knowledge combined with a lifestyle profile and likes/dislikes, I am able to tailor my program to meet the individual need of my clients.

Additionally, this is a service that can be provided without personal training.

Have a few friends who want to get healthier. Success is different for everyone but when we have partners and work in groups we also have accountability partners. To optimize success, group training can be a compliment to personal training or a progression from personal training-this is especially appropriate with individuals who may lack confidence.

Group Fitness classes are created to meet the needs of the group.
