I've been coming to Fitness 19 for almost a year and I love it! The trainers have all been really helpful, encouraging, and responsive. I've been training with Marcus for as long as I've been at the gym. He answers all of my questions and pushes me to achieve my goals. I started training to work on my arm strength, which I've never had--UNTIL NOW! If you prefer to work out in a gym when less people are around, go in the mornings/during lunch. The gym can get pretty busy after standard work hours, which makes it a little hard to find a designated space or use specific machines.If you're looking for personal training, or just a regular gym membership, I definitely recommend Fitness 19. The one star deduction is for management.The place:Wide, open, spacious area. Always clean whenever I come in, great crossfit and studio space. The staff/management:The staff is super friendly, very approachable, and easygoing. Huge shout-out to MALCOLM for going above and beyond with guest satisfaction. He's dedicated to his work, follows through when he makes promises, and is just contagiously joyous. I see managerial qualities in him!The current manager, Daniel, is just not as approachable. I tried to talk to him several times about account issues but in the end, I just felt fed-up and didn't want to deal with it anymore. He wasn't rude to me but just not the most ideal, approachable manager that this gym deserves. Suggestions:Seems like a lot of yelpers on this thread are complaining about the lack of customer advocacy from management. Loyalty is earned when the guests feel heard and supported. Fitness 19 is so great! My dad, brother and I have all been going here for years and we love it. I get personal training with Travis Scott. I had another trainer at Fitness 19 prior and when he left was lucky enough to get a slot with Travis. He's so knowledgeable, friendly and motivates me even on days where I don't think I can push myself anymore. I've been seeing him for about a year and a half now and he's been so great at setting me up for success even when I'm working out without him. One of the best gyms I have visited. Anthony Pavis is an amazing trainer and pushes me to the limits and I can feel much stronger and healthier. He motivates you and makes me feel like going to the gym. A thumbs up for him for being so great. If you, like I once did, ever feel intimidated by personal training this gym is the perfect place to start. I came to this gym with the hopes of learning how to lift with proper form and take full advantage of various equipment that I did not yet have the confidence to use. Now that I've been working with my trainer Tamara for 5 months, I have never felt better. I had a membership for a year and didnt use it. I came in...not knowing what to expect and honestly, a little scared. I had a 3 year old toddler who had never been to day care before and it had been almost 4 years since I walked into a gym. From the SECOND I walked in here...I  felt accepted. The guys at the front desk were helpful in finding my lost info and had the patience of a saint with me. Tammy in the day care area welcomed my kiddo with open arms and my baby had ZERO worries about me leaving! I can't express enough how appreciative I am for the people here at this establishment. Travis is my Trainer and he is an excellent "coach" and trainer.  He encourages me every step of the way.  Answers all my questions and gives me a written handout of my workout each time I meet with him.  If it were not for Travis, I wouldn't have joined. More...

I love this gym but I can never go because they're not open late enough on Friday -Sunday and they open later that all other gyms but I guess that's what you get for such a low cost

I have been coming to this gym since long time and do not regret signing up. The staff here are friendly and welcoming and good enough equipment worth the gym price. I also have taken training sessions here with Anthony Pavis. He is amazing and has huge knowledge in fitness trainings, diet advice. Very professional and friendly in teaching workouts. He makes sure I am doing workouts correctly and also gives a good workout plan on non training days. Definitely recommend him if you were to take training sessions. More...

This gym is small but has everything you need. I can come in to a warm welcome(greeting) from the staff. I have met alot of friends threw this gym and even learned multiple workouts. This is an update to my previous post. A month ago I joined this gym in hopes to find classes at the San Mateo location. I did not find any, but the staff and manager have been really kind the last month as far as what they do offer. Since I've been going they've let me updated on potential classes that might be offered in the near future and have been really welcoming when I come in to use the amenities. They gave me a proper tour and even offered a free personal training session. I've also witnessed they are quite friendly to all the users and the families that come in as well and greet them like friends, which seems to create a sense of community.One of my previous complaints was that this gym wasn't clear on what amenities were provided at each location online, ie: classes at the San Mateo location, for the price point. Management was kind enough it to explain that the $20.00 membership allowed attendance to classes at the locations that do have classes. Which I found kind to be a kind explanation and a good option for anyone that was able to go to another location. One feature I do not use , but seems to be popular is the childcare. Which seems to be great for the community as well. All in all, my experience with all the staff and gym has been pleasant and I recommend it to anyone trying to join the gym. Great club with plenty of machines and free weights. The new manager Justin is doing a fabulous job. The employees here are great. Specifically kudos to Kristy. Kristy keeps the machines and everything else here clean. She works her butt off. This is an awesome gym! They have everything. Also great location - easy to get to. We really like this place. They even helped out my daughter's cross country team when they couldn't run outside due to poor air quality from the fires. Highly recommend them!!!

I have been a member here for a number of years and the staff are friendly and the price is just right. 2 part review here. 1st part- The trainers I've been with Travis for a few weeks now and it's beeen a great experience so far. He listens to what I want to work on and his exercises are catered to reaching those goals as fast as possible. I get a legit hard work out EVERY TIME. He writes down everything we do (reps, weights used etc) and he lets me take those notes home so I can do them on my own when I can. Compared to other gyms this is the most affordable per session and just as effective.2nd part-time The gym environment Plenty of parking out front, not too crowded, really friendly staff and super cheap packages (less than $10/month). They dont have fancy bathrooms, a pool or Zumba classes which is the only downside. It is very much you get what you pay for. They do have a kids area for parents and a water massage room which is nice. I recommend this place for anyone who just needs the basics or a personal trainer. More...

Great gym at a great price. Everything one needs to get a great workout, without having to pay for a bunch of frills that are rarely used. Personal trainers are top notch. If you're lucky, you might get a session with Travis Scott!  He is a true professional and mixes up the workouts to maximize results and minimize boredom from repetitive routines.  If you want a great place for a workout without feeling like you're in a competition, this is the place. I seriously love fitness 19! I've never been one to work or be motivated to do so and  because of that I was very self conscious when going to the gym. But the staff and customers here are amazing! I have been going and getting training for almost 2 years now and the staff are very knowledgeable, super helpful and are invested in helping you reach your goals. I've had two personal trainers since I've been here and they were both great which shows you can't go wrong with whoever you chose! I've always been curious about this place, I decided to try Crunch first and it was disappointing so I left and here's my chance to try this place. There's not too many frills it's a pretty basic place, except for the hydro massage lemme tell ya that's amazing. It felt sooo good. They have an amazing energy drink selection. Oh and sometimes I see celebrities here like Groovy Judy. Honestly the reason I really find this place great more then any other gym is customer service. I've been to gyms where they really try to wow you with stuff and they can take there stuff and shove it because Fitness 19 actually treats you with respect and appreciates you and that's what wins me over. This place is also the cheapest there is. If they can work on there hours that'd be great tho. The gym closing at 7pm on a Saturday is kind of a bummer. The gym is always really clean.
