We were attending an event at the nearby Tryon International Equestrian Center and were looking for a convenient place to stay that was not a traditional chain. We found this delightful unique property in Rutherfordton that is located in a repurposed fire station. Self check-in was easy - they leave you a key to the front door and key to your room. We were in room #2 which had a very spacious bathroom, and a bedroom with extremely high ceilings which gave the room a relaxing feel. Our room also had a loft with two twin beds which would be great if you are traveling with kids. The common area has lots of comfortable furniture and a large tv, so you can even spread out there to relax if you don't want to stay in your room. This common area would be a fabulous place for a social event like a wedding reception. ||||Breakfast is included and it was delicious! ||||We had dinner across the street at the Copper Penny which was a very fun local spot with a good menu. ||||This is a very fun inn and would be an enjoyable place for your weekend getaway! From our friendly reception, great room, service, and outstanding breakfast to reasonable rates, it was over the top in every respect. .We even had a walk in safe in our room. We always try to explore new places for our anniversary. I came across the Firehouse and knew immediately this was the place for us. My husband is a firefighter so this could not have been more perfect. The Inn is amazing! The rooms are beautifully done and the beds are so comfortable. We were there with another couple and took full advantage of the common area in the evenings. Donna prepared a gourmet breakfast both mornings we were there. She was such a delight. It was as if we had known her for years. The location was perfect for short day trips to Chimney Rock, Hendersonville and Asheville. Rutherfordton may be a small town but they are big on hospitality. This place is fantastic. An old firehouse (I look up to all firemen) that has been made into one of the most unique B&B's we have been to. So many features. So much character. Rooms are nice. The price is really reasonable. There is a large, old fashioned dining room. They think of everything that would make a B&B so great. Donna is awesome. We just got back from The Firehouse Inn today. It was a wonderful visit to Western North Carolina. The inn is small and intimate. Our room was beautifully decorated and appointed with everything we needed. It was a place that was quiet and serene. The inn serves a plated breakfast, cooked by Donna, and it was served with such grace and warmth. We had a sausage quiche, bacon, and blueberry coffee cake -- all homemade. Add to this was a cup of fresh, varied fruit and really smooth Honduran coffee. Tis was served at a communal table, where the conversation was delightful. Throughout the day, there are coffee, juice and pastries available. The inn is near many tourist destinations in the area and provides a place of real rest after hiking and recreation. Loved everything about the FireHouse Inn. The owner had changed the booking criteria through Expedia but Expedia allowed a same day reservation. When we called the number on the door, the owner came down quickly and accommodated the reservation. She was friendly and extremely helpful. The room was luxurious in an amazing facility. Our family recently stayed at this amazing inn during the holiday season. We rented the entire B&B since there was several family members staying from out of town. We ALL were blown away by the hospitality of each staff member we met. There was nothing we could have ever wanted for...every possible need was thought of BEFORE we even got there!!!! Every room is roomy and comfy! The decor is dreamy, and although it looks like you are walking through the pages of a magazine, you still feel very comfortable like you are in a friends home. ||The rooms accommodate different needs so we were able to choose what best worked for us and many came with gas fireplaces so that was just HEAVEN!!!! ||The large great room accommodates large groups and that was where we gathered for breakfast. A hot breakfast was prepared each morning. It was very good! As available to us, anytime we wanted was coffee, juice, water, ceral, baked goods, soda, etc.||The Firehouse Inn truly is AMAZING! We have already booked it for our family reunion this summer and again next Christmas!!!! More...
