Had a quiet dinner in nice atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and was patient with our lengthy ordering:-). The food is good. The halibut was very good with a delicious sauce. Field & Vine coordinated and catered the rehearsal dinner that my husband and I hosted for his son and his fiance. Field & Vine, and especially Katie, made the entire evening absolutely perfect. I was daunted by planning a party from across the country (I live in Tennessee) but when I first spoke with Katie on the phone, she immediately put me completely at ease. She then answered countless emails, always offering great guidance. Her kind and positive personality came across clearly in every message, and it was a pleasure to work with her. She coordinated everything we needed: food and beverages, servers, venue, rentals, and décor. The dinner truly exceeded my expectations (and I host parties regularly and have very high expectations). The food was incredible, the servers did a fantastic job, and the tables looked lovely. The guests raved about the dinner that night and for the rest of the weekend. I am a picky eater. I am a picky wine enthusiast, and I am picky about my atmosphere if I am going to go out in public to eat. .. This place beat my standards. The pinot noir choices were fantastic, the food was some of the best I've had in a while, and I am forever ruined by their incredible cheese plate. Amazing food, as a long time chef, it's hard for me to go into a restaurant and find dishes I'm excited about. Not the case here. I literally couldn't even pick. I wanted to try so many of the entrees and appetizers. Luckly I had my wife with me so I could try two dishes. I had the gnocchi she had the risotto, we were carb craving. First word that comes to mind on both dishes was" balanced" not one flavor overpowered and it allowed all the flavors to shine coming together to make amazing dishes. The risotto was so perfectly cooked creamy but still firm enough with every grain. Portion sizes are what you would expect from the quality but are fair. I would give a 4 1/2 stars if possible. Service was a 5 with food etc. being a 4. Started with oysters, 2 kinds with freshly grated horseradish and a mild vinegarette. Fresh, clean, wonderful! French onion soup, very good but standard. Beef stew over polenta was superb. Tender flaky beef with rustic pieces of carrot over creamy polenta with a delicate sauce. Morel mushroom risotto was a little dry and picked up on some grit from the mushrooms. Otherwise good. Dark chocolate mousse with fresh fruit sauce and just a small dollop of fresh whip cream....perfect amount. No complaints here. Would definitely return. More...

Service was friendly and personable. However it was noticeably quite slow. I'm not sure if the kitchen was in the weeds or if there's just a relaxed attitude slowing down things. The food is very good. The mussels have a delicious butter sauce.The fondue was tasty as was the cheese plate.My steak was ordered mid-rare and was actually closer to the rare side. Field & Vines catered our wedding and we can’t rave about them enough! So many guests (including the biggest food critics) told us that the food was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. ..and that was for sure! Katie and the entire staff made the event so memorable - they paired wines and the seasonal food for a family style dinner - and worked throughout the night to make everything easy and seamless. Allium is one of our go-to restaurants in the Willamette area. Like another poster wrote, the food IS head-and-shoulders above the rest. ..don't miss the Truffle oil shoestring fries!The ONE drawback is that their menu is very meat-centered. The chef seems to enjoy adding pork to a lot of dishes, too, even ones that normally might not have pork in them, such as a veggie risotto.
