Mark did a good job of reading the crowd and kept everyone on the dance floor. He helped us remember when it was time to do events (such as cake cutting, toasts, bouquet toss, etc. ) and offers a great game for the bride and groom to play that makes everyone laugh. More...

I found Mark Wooten advertising an Craigslist and we went with him due to his low cost. We had contracted with him for a total of 8 hours and he was only charging us $545. 00 and the other DJs that I looked into started at about $600 for only 4 or 5 hours.

We had a lot of people that rsvp'd not show up and as a result we didn't do the dollar dance or the garter or bouquet toss and with what few people that did come that cut a lot of the time that we had planned to have needed. Even though we had very few people there he was really good about keeping those that were there on the dance floor.

He has a very extensive music library and if you want something and it turns out that he doesn't have it he will go out and get it. He also has the capability to connect a phone and such to play a song that he doesn't have on the spot. There was one song that we wanted that he didn't have and he purchased it and gave us it as well.

When we called the night 2 hours earlier than what we planned he also knocked off some of the remaining balance.

Q&As

Playing the right songs at the right time. Keeping up on current music and include songs that are crowd interaction songs like Cupid Shuffle or the Wobble. I never let a song play out if no one is on the dance floor

I speak with a clear powerful voice utilizing the best mics in the business. Mys style is using enthusiasm without over doing it. I can be mildly reserved or aggressive depending on the client's request.

Watching people dance and have fun with the music. My sound system is so clean with right mix of highs and lows and I keep the volume just right.

I had a friend ask me to play music for his wedding at a local tavern. I had never done a wedding and it was my first try at it. The tavern owner was so impressed that he asked me to be his regular DJ at the bar.

I think professionalism and experiences doing weddings is key. I also offer some additional services when I do an event that sets me apart from the others like helping to release the tables for the meal and coupled with fun trivia for the guest to answer for the table release. I also offer the Shoe game just before the first dance. It's a fun game where the married couple answer questions by raising one or the others shoe with their backs at each other. When they disagree only the guests see the results and gets a big laugh out of it.
