Great Hill Italian food. My mom was in town and craving Italian food so I reached out to a friend who recommended Favazza's. This was great food all around and I appreciated the bread served with dinner had seasoning instead of being slices of grocery store bread. The food had great sauces and perfect seasoning. More...

My family had previously made arrangements  with a different Italian restaurant to host a luncheon after my mother's funeral. The other restaurant canceled the morning of the funeral due to inclement weather, leaving my family in a terrible predicament. The owners and staff at Favazza's learned of our situation and offered to help. We had a beautiful lunch with wonderful food and fabulous service. We were so touched by their compassion and so impressed with their service. My family and friends will be forever grateful and will be loyal Favazza's customers for life. More...

We were in town to bring my daughter home from SLU. We don't have a lot of good Italian food in Minneapolis, so a chance to visit the famous Hill neighborhood was a must. We had a very pleasant dinner at Favazza's. Pasta was great, the red sauce was rich and satisfying, and the service was professional in the best way. I had the chicken parmigiana and it was splendid. My daughter had pasta with broccoli and she enjoyed it. My wife enjoyed her baked pasta and my son loved his ravioli. Exactly what you would want and easy to find. Top notch all the way. More...

We held a private event at Favazza's and they were an absolute dream to work with. We reserved the outdoor area for our group of 50 and the Favazza's team was accommodating from initial contact to last guest departure. Our food was superior, but we knew to expect that from such a respected and iconic St. Louis restaurant. Of particular note, the cannoli was outstanding with a perfectly crisp and thin pastry and smooth but not overly sweet filling. When you eat here, don't skip the dessert! But, what I'm really here to talk about is the exceptional service. The staff assigned to our party was professional, warm, considerate, and flexible. It isn't easy to execute service in between speeches and presentations and gifts, but they did it and did it excellently. Thank you for making our party everything we hoped for John and team. You're aces. More...

Awesome ambience, friendly service and delicious food. I could not finish my Fettuccine, shrimp scallop... as the starter of garlic bread (one of the best that I have so far eaten) and toasted ravioli was just wow! The best desert was the Tiramisu.

I was paging through my photos and realized I neglected to review an awesome restaurant experience at Favazza's.  We attended with a group about a month ago and had an awesome experience. The food at this restaurant is fantastic! Everything we had was absolutely perfection.  I had the lasagna and had enough for another meal for my husband and I left over.  The restaurant was extremely busy.  We sat in the back area...it was comfortable.  The interior main restaurant appeared to have a bit better ambiance.  Our waiters were all extremely attentive and knowledgeable about everything from wine to dessert.  I highly recommend this restaurant...when you visit plan plenty of time as this place is super busy...for a reason!  Yummy! If you haven't been to THE HILL in St. Louis, it's a MUST for Italian restaurants!  Many to choose from but tonight it was Favazza's for an early dinner meal before a concert, fantastic!  Overall 4.0+ rating in my book, excellent food and portions, prompt and superb service, nice ambience whether sitting inside or in their enclosed patio.  Good for groups/parties, go early and suggest making reservations, it's a busy, friendly and loud place.  Meals range $15-25pp, without drinks or appetizers, all so good.We started with a Favazza gourmet appetizer (variety) of fried cheese, toasted ravioli, fried artichokes and crab stuffed mushrooms, plus an Antipasto.  Everything was fresh, and while a bit heavy on 'fried' items, it gave you a taste of their best!  For our groups, this was a good way to break in the meal with a cold beverage (full serve bar). For an entree, I chose the Veal Parmigiana, 3 tender pieces lightly breaded and generously served with red sauce and melted cheeses on top - big portion!  A house dinner salad, delicious warm buttered breads, and side of Cavatelli pasta (chose white sauce) also came with my meal.  All delicious,Rea loved their warm bread!Friends ordered Veal Saltimbocca, Chicken Prosciutto, Baked Cavatelli with Eggplant Parmigiana, Fettuccine Alfredo and Lasagna.  A feast for sure, all tasty good and everyone took leftovers home, wow!Didn't even make it to desserts, but they sounded great.  So for my first try here, Favazza's a place I'll go back!  Enjoy!!! Tonight something truly special happened. While staying overnight at a local hospital with my family; we decided Favazza's, a place that we had all enjoyed before, sounded just right to fill our belly's and give us the comfort of home during a trying time. Without solicitation, the manager and staff of Favazza's recognized our situation and immediately extended a kindness, as well as heartfelt good wishes for a quick recovery. Touched, I returned the food to the hospital and enjoyed some truly delicious dishes. I know good Italian; tonight was not only good, hearty food prepared well, the staff exhibited Italian hospitality and sense of family. Give them a try, you won't regret.... More...

Favazza's was delicious!  I especially enjoyed the fried artichoke hearts and the Sicilian salad.  I also liked that they serve garlic bread as part of the bread basket.  Our server was Rachel.  She was very nice and helpful.  While in town I learned that fried ravioli is a specialty in Saint Louis, but most of the restaurants seemed to serve meat ravioli.  We were delighted to find that Favazza's had a cheese ravioli option as well. We only ate their once because we were visiting Saint Louis for a short time, but I would definitely return when I'm back in Saint Louis. More...

To describe the food in one word: exceptional. This is one of the easiest 5 stars I've given! The patio is large and inviting with string lights, a fireplace, plenty of space, and a TV playing the Cards game. The weather was perfect for an outdoor meal. We ordered calamari to start, a staple that usually gives us a good indication of what to expect for the rest of the meal. It was well-cooked and there was a ton of it. We took about half of it home as leftovers. Around the same time, the bread arrived. GARLIC BREAD. It was so delicious, we had to put it on the opposite end of the table so we didn't fill up. I'm still thinking about that bread. Our meals arrived quickly- the Sicilian Chicken and one of the seafood dishes. YUM. The Sicilian Chicken is Favazza's version of chicken spiedini and it is fantastic. It was a perfect blend of breadcrumbs, garlic, and lemon. Date's seafood pasta was just as good. We both left with full lunches for the next day!In addition to excellent food, we were impressed by the quick service, reasonable price, and wonderful outdoor ambiance. Favazza's has impressed me time and time again, and is officially on my favorite list. We will be back- hopefully very soon! More...

I found this place by using Yelp.  I was looking for a place to go for lunch on the Hill, and I was very pleased.  There was a parking lot across the street at Marconi and Botanical that made my visit nice and convenient.  It was a Friday, so I decided to get some type of seafood... but I also was interested in getting some pasta.  My waiter suggested the fish sandwich which came with a side of pasta.  Eureka!  That's it!  The cod sandwich was served on a small loaf of French bread. I ordered it with provolone cheese and lettuce and tomato.  It also came with a dill pickle slice and a serving of their homemade tartar sauce.  Delicious.  I chose a side of pasta with the red sauce.  It was good, but a little sweet for my taste.  Next time I return, I'll try their Alfredo. He made the process a breeze and made you feel extremely taken care of even before the event. I never had to worry about a thing. He coordinated reception flawlessly. The reception venue was decorated beautifully as apart of the dinner package that we chose. They had roses and candles everywhere, which when paired with the dark wood and hand-painted italian murals, made the perfect ambiance for the night. The food was amazing and Favazza’s out did themselves once again! We had the Sicillian chicken, butter and garlic cavatelli pasta, and roasted vegetables. They were very good about catering to the gluten free folks as well! I definitely would highly recommend Rose of the Hill as the perfect place for a magical italian wedding reception! More...

***UPDATED - My love can be bought. Not with money or free stuff (well...how much money are we talking?), but with attention!  I'm bored on a Monday night and decompressing from our vacation by writing Yelp reviews.  The owner of Favazza's is also up at 9:30 p.m. on a Monday night, apparently reading and responding to Yelp reviews.  I always appreciate the personal touch of an owner who reaches out and to be doing it at this time is impressive.  Owner, if you're reading this, good job, now go home and go to bed!***I wish I would have written down our server's name, because I would ask for him every time.  He was very helpful in explaining the specials and answering all our questions.  He was quick with refills and bringing whatever we needed.  The food was great.  We loved the fried ravioli.  The fried artichokes were good, but a bit plain because they were only served with lemon slices, not a lemon aioli or other sauce.  We tried them with the marinara from the ravioli and it helped a lot. They bring a bread basket and I love that they include toasted garlic bread.  It was wonderful with our lasagna.  The atmosphere is nice and upscale without being stuffy. More...
