Arrived at 2:45 & was sat immediately but after 10 mins no one ever came to our table. Majority of staff sitting at bar area chatting, as we were walking out another couple was leaving for the same reason. Host just said ok & shrugged.

Tonight went to meet friends from out of town there. Party of 5 only wanted to sit us at table for 4 with extra chair or we could wait. Finally 35 minutes later they said they could seat us only at 4 top table. I pointed out they had a table for 6 in front area. She stated that area was being closed down. So say us at 4 top then table right next to us opened up that seated 6. They refused to sit us at table. Manager was called and he was rude to table. Still refused to seat us at that table. Said it was larger groups again only seats 6 we are party of 5. Manager was rude told us that he would have to charge us gratuity of 20% and he would do it because he was manager. Highly disappointed as this place comes up when looking for breakfast places in Huntsville. We spent almost an hour waiting in the Farmhouse Coffee Shop for the restaurant to open. I've been puzzled by the enthusiasm with this place.  To be fair, my husband and I tried this place out on a Sunday afternoon.  It was very apparent we were probably going to be the last customers of the day as the decor looked nothing like seen in the pics (probably getting prepared to clean at closing).   We had the Fried Catfish plate (very bland); although  I did like the hush puppies that came with them,  but not impressed with the fish.  Also, we had the Trail Chicken Sandwich (again, mehhhh).  I was expecting a bit more flavor for all the hype. honestly, if you're a person of color or in a minority group just avoid coming here (you will be stared at...). the food wasn't all that great either, but it's probably because i don't be eating this type of food so i'm not used to it.

Breakfasts are great, the big slam or whatever it's called has all three meats (bacon, sausage, and ham)...what's not to like about that? My son always gets the breakfast quesadilla, which he says is perfection.Coffee is pretty good for diner coffee. We highly recommend the house-made hot sauce. In all honesty the service here is absolute trash. Which is sad because the food is really good. For example the last two times I've gone with family we get sat, then 10+ minutes go by and a server asks for drinks, then 10 more minutes go by you get your drink, then 10 more minutes go by and they take the food order. Then when drinks are empty you need to flag down a different server because who knows where yours is. Then when the food arrives I really hope you asked for that refill because you won't get another one until food is completed since they don't check on you after they drop off the food so you better hope they gave you condiments as well and the right sauce and side which has been forgotten both times I've been there.I've worked in the industry since I was 14. I know it can be hard and this place does get busy. But there's no excuse to wait 30 minutes to put in a food order. There's no excuse to wait 20 minutes for drinks and never get a refill. Usually I don't write reviews but today my family member ordered a pita, the wrong one was cooked and a new order was put it. By the time every one else was done eating appetizers AND entrees she still hadn't received the proper food or a box for the wrong order which was given to us except none of us wanted to eat it. So that's about an hour split 50/50 of either no food or no drinks.Really hope they work on service because it's tarnished the idea of even going. More...

Yummy!! The bread basket was delicious!! I’ll admit that I was a tad skeptical of the broccoli corn bread, but once I took my first bite- LORD HAVE MERCY! It was fantastic!! It was moist, hot, and sweet! The broccoli wasn’t overpowering. It was a perfect blend of concocted perfection!

I had the chicken Monterey and it was quite a flavorful blend of chicken breast, grilled onions, grilled red and green bell peppers topped off with Monterey Jack cheese. I had a side of pinto beans as well, but wasn’t overly impressed with them. They were pretty basic homestyle pintos and having the fajita meat as a menu option, I personally would have made a batch of charro beans to pair, but I do know most menu items are more or less home style recipes.

The hubby had fried catfish and it was delicious as well! It was well seasoned and the homemade tarter sauce was just as fantastic!

Will we return? ABSOLUTELY!!! More...

My boss and I were heading home to Oklahoma when we wanted lunch. When I googled food, Farmhouse cafe popped up and it did NOT disappoint. The service was amazing as soon as you walk in the front door. Our servers name was Emily and she was the sweetest and best. The food was AMAZING. We were stuffed even before the peanut butter pie. The place looks to be a local favorite as we went on. Sunday we had to wait 20-30 minutes for a table.  We were greet promptly as we entered and told the wait time for two.  The food looked good and inviting.  We had fried pickles for an appetizer.  They were served fresh and hot with ranch dressing.  They had a good flavor but it appeared they were not drained very good as there were lots of grease on the plate and really needed to have something to absorb the grease.  For a late lunch I had a chicken fried steak with white gravy and fried okra and mashed potatoes as sides.  The fried okra and chicken fried steak seem to have the same batter.  It all tasted okay but could have used some additional seasoning.  The wife had a chicken fried chicken sandwich with sweet potato fried.  Her order came out wrong as a chicken fried steak.  She ended up ordering a chicken salad sandwich so not delay out lunch thinking it would be easier to get out quickly since I had my already.  The rolls and cornbread was very tasty they serve your drinks.  Our service was subpar as it seemed we waiting a while to get our drinks and then was only brought one drink and not my simple unsweetened ice tea.  Had to wait another 10-15 minutes before I got that and once I did we asked if we could order our meal.  All in all this is an okay restaurant and I would give it another try. Started with the coconut shrimp which was really good! The dipping jelly could've used a jalapeño or some chili flakes.
