About

Elizabeth is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who earned her Master's Degree at Fairfield University. Working together with adults, adolescents and children, she finds adaptive solutions to personal challenges. She believes that psychotherapy can transform the quality of a person’s life. Elizabeth creates a supportive environment where individuals and families are free to examine unhealthy patterns of behavior, set goals, and move toward desired change.

Elizabeth specializes in the therapeutic mentoring of adolescent and teen girls. The life of a teen girl is complex as they can face issues of:

Self-worth
Peer pressure
Bullying
Academic related issues
Sexual orientation
Social media overload

These stressors can cause anxiety, depression and emotional imbalance which affects the family as a whole. Elizabeth believes however that the teen years can also be a time of positive growth for both parents and children. She believes that successfully navigating these years sets the foundation for a thriving adult.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Have you been struggling for some time? Or experiencing something new and don't know how to handle it on your own? Individual therapy might be the solution for you. Here you are provided with a space to adjust to change, manage everyday stressors, moods such as depression, anxiety, and improve ones self.

Sometimes there are life events (divorce, death in the family, a recent move, etc.) that can change the role one plays in the family. Sometimes adopting a new role in the family can make the family dynamic difficult. The goal here is to help members create effective roles due to life events.

COUPLES THERAPY
Relationships can be hard work. People and relationships are constantly growing and changing. It can be a struggle keeping up or knowing what to do next. Maybe you're just starting a new relationship, or have been in a committed relationship for some time now that seems to be unraveling. The goal is to help you gain skills and insight both as individuals and as a couple.

A therapist’s role is to bear witness to the story and collaborate to create meaning from past experiences. She encourages her clients to find untapped resilience and uses tools such as solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, and narrative theories to increase emotional intelligence and develop coping skills to better handle their powerful emotions. Together with her clients, Elizabeth explores ways to foster healthy connections with peers, family and their communities. She is sure that when a young person’s talents are embraced, the avenues of possibility are endless.
