The three cowgirls who taught us how to ride posse style and gave us a history lesson on the canyon, they were phenomenal! It was a great horseback riding experience. Phyllis, Sierra, Lauren were very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable and had great personalities. We highly recommend this working ranch to go horseback riding. Thanks ladies. Great time! The horses are beautiful and very well behaved animals. We rode Scout and Lucky. Super loving horses. More...

My boyfriend and I booked an early morning riding trip with Cowboys and Cowgirls in the West and it was unbelievable. It made our trip unforgettable. They educated us on the land, the history, and how to ride safely before mounting the horse. We rode with Lauren, Sierra, and Cody. Each of them were so kind and clearly wanted us to have a safe, enjoyable experience. The views were gorgeous and I loved that they stopped us for photo ops :)We will be back! More...

Not your boring nose to tail ride. Even met the owner Phyllis who was very friendly. Would highly recommend this horseback riding experience. More...

Great ride, amazing view, fantastic guides (Kensington and Hailey were mine), and great mount (mine was Boon). Absolutely loved it. The mounts were beautiful, playful and calm, and well taken care of. The trail takes you on a scenic view on the rim of the Canyon, stopping at some scenic photo opportunities of historical significance. Guides were confident, professional, and knowledgeable in both horsemanship and history. Owner was one of the sweetest and friendliest ladies I've ever met in the panhandle. Would love to come back and ride again. I would highly reccomend this OVER the other stables in the area. Great for individuals AND families/groups. Helpful tip: bring a little water and a hat on warm days. More...

My family did not get to ride because of the weather and there is no question that they made the right decision. I am reviewing this because they refunded as soon as they notified me of the cancellation. They informed me of the possibility the day before and cancelled the morning of. The frustrating part of planning a vacation is wondering about the what if. I can say there is no wondering because they took care of everything no questions and no delays. Booking with them on my next trip to Palo Duro will be my first step. More...

I have been there now twice (it's that good). I highly recommend for those folks that want a true experience, both historical and aesthetic, of the area. Please get the longer ride, you will not regret it. The entire team is very knowledgeable and loves what they do, the history of the area is truly informative, and of course the horses are great and the view is to die for. If you are taking friends or family members, they will truly be in awe. We saw coyotes and even had a chance to "herd" some baby cows:) I cannot say enough good things about this place...truly an experience I will miss. Marie and Darcy were great! More...

We were very impressed. Both Marie and Darcy were polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. My wife was nervous about riding a horse. They were helpful in getting her on the horse. My wife got over heated and dizzy during the ride and they help her off the horse and walked her horse back to the barn. The view of the canyon was spectacular. I would highly recommend this activity. More...

It was my first horse-ride ever, so I can guarantee that this beautiful experience is suitable also for a beginner like me.
(my wife and me chose the 2 hours horseback riding).

The ranch is very close to the Palo Duro Canyon north rim, so after few minutes you can enjoy an amazing view while you are riding.

So you can relax surrounded by nature and listen some background history of this magical place telled by the hosts that take care of you during the ride.

We had a rather large party of mostly inexperienced riders (6 adults and 2 small children). Our guides, Phyllis, Kendra, and Cherry were absolutely wonderful. The small children got to buddy ride with Phyllis and Kendra, and the rest of us were given a horse specially chosen for us. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and the horses were even more beautiful. We are visiting from Georgia, but can't wait to return so we can experience this again. We cannot recommend them enough. Having traveled half way around the world from New Zealand and visited nearly all the States in North America one of my greatest experiences was the visit I had at the Cowgirl and Cowboys Ranch Riding and Chuck Wagon cookout at Los Cedros Ranch in Amarillo Texas. The hosts Phyllis, Ron and Katie were exceptionally cordial and very clear in their descriptions of an original cowboy/cowgirl's life and the use of the everyday equipment they used. The horses were fun to ride and very considerate of our towny tendency's. By far, the best part for my wife and I was the chuck wagon cookout. To experience the smells and tasty foods, not to forget the traditional STRONG coffee, that the trail riding cowboys experienced, brought to life for us the adventures we read of in the Zane Gray etc paperback books. This is one experience you should not pass up if you are ever in or near Amarillo Texas. In the true spirit of Amarillians, the Los Cedros crew showed kindness, warmth and friendliness to all of us there. More...

This is the best place I have ever gone horseback riding- and I've been to a lot of different places! They were so caring and helpful and really want you to learn about the environment you're in as well as how to ride the horses properly! Their horses are so much healthier than the horses in Palo Duro Canyon also. You can tell that they love what they do and want you to feel comfortable and as if you are apart of their crew for the time that you are there. They have a perfect view of the canyon that is well worth the short drive out there!! They were so helpful also because we didn't have a reservation and we called on a whim hoping that we could ride last minute and they were more than willing to accommodate us! I HIGHLY recommend this place! Best horseback riding in Texas for sure. More...
