Hiring Nieves and her team at Events on the Lake was one of the most important decisions we made during the planning process for my daughter‘s wedding. Nieves brought a sense of calm, decisiveness, and day of planning and execution that allowed us to both navigate the numerous decisions that had to be made leading up to our daughters big day along with allowing us to simply enjoy our wedding weekend versus being focused on all the details that had to happen. Given the fact that we changed plans a few months out due to Covid to a small micro-wedding at a family lake house, we decided to opt for a full service planning option with Nieves and we were so happy we did it! Even under normal circumstances there are a million things to keep track of and make decisions on when planning a wedding, but with Covid safety precautions, planning remotely (I live in Boston), and the short timeline, I don’t think we could’ve pulled it off without her help. She was extremely helpful finding and coordinating vendors (which she got us great deals on that met our budget), putting together the wedding weekend timeline, creating checklists to make sure everything that needed to be done in advance or prepared for the day was ready to go, and keeping tabs on when and how to pay all the vendors.

She did all of that incredibly well, and was also extremely responsive. We had multiple zoom calls during the process, and she would always answer my texts and emails quickly. She also has a bunch of spreadsheets to keep you on track. I really felt like she wanted my day to be successful and amazing!

Not only did she do all of the things mentioned above: When we found out a tropical storm might force us to move our wedding indoors (which we really didn’t want to do due to Covid) the Tuesday before our Saturday wedding, I was expressing my concern to Nieves about the wedding getting rained out and she asked me if I wanted to see if the vendors could move us up a day to Friday instead to miss the rain. We decided to make the change and she re-coordinated all of our vendors, changed her schedule around to accommodate the new timeline for the weekend, and even worked an extra night since the caterer couldn’t move to Friday (we had our rehearsal dinner meal, barbecue, for the wedding night meal). We had a super nice post-wedding dinner with our original catered meal that she still helped coordinate even though that wasn’t part of her original contract with us.

My mom and I still talk about how amazing of a job she did on the wedding. It was by far the best decision we made for our micro-wedding. I highly recommend hiring Nieves! More...

I have worked with Events on the Lake for MANY occasions and keep coming back! I have done a very large wedding with her and a medium sized graduation party as well as a small gathering. Nieves never leaves a task undone. She thinks of things before I can and is always prepared. Planning events with her has always been a joy and she is full of ideas and inspiration.
