I was looking for a place in 2014 and met with Jenny S. from Empire West when they were advertising a small studio apartment in North Hollywood.  She was my primary contact from the company and this review is based mostly on my interactions with her.  Jenny was easy to talk to, addressed any concerns I had, and my 3 year stay at the apartment complex went just as expected. Empire West was not only a superb property management group during my 2 and a half year tenancy at one of their properties in Studio City, but they are also very considerate people in all aspects of business from maintenance requests, tenant communication, parking, and general operations. They are all about the tenants and not about themselves and profit which is typical in that industry especially property management in L.A. generally speaking. My husband and I hired the team at Empire West to manage our condo. We were moving to another city and needed a professional agency to find tenants as well as deal with all of the intricacies such as maintenance, lease compliance, and rent collection. After we met with their agent we stopped interviewing prospective agencies. We were impressed with Empire because of their professional staff and high level of organization. All of the information we needed was presented in a well thought out package. We are now going into our second year of business with Empire and are still very happy. They found outstanding tenants for us, rent is deposited into our account in a timely fashion every month, any emails I send are responded to very quickly, and my accountant is happy with the financial statements. Empire West are doing property management right. They came highly recommended from a good friend and I'm so pleased to have been connected. They have gone above and beyond for me in the last year they have managed my property in Larchmont Village CA. We had to relocate and within a week they found me the perfect tenant after screening dozens. There have been a few hiccups here and there at the house and Alisa and Team have handled them affordably and have filled me in on the drama after things have been resolved, thus eliminating any stress that I'd otherwise have to deal with from out of state. You get so much service for the money. They pay my mortgage, taxes, insurance, gardener, and deal with any property updates/issues as needed and deduct these items from my monthly rental income. They send me a monthly spreadsheet that breaks down expenses and helps during tax time. Alisa and Team are always available when I need them and I cannot recommend them highly enough. More...

For the fist time ever, we decided to try a property manager with a 6 unit building we own in N. Hollywood. More than one tenant was giving us a real hard time- the building was becoming a major source of stress for us. I own several rental properties, but don’t know much about property management. I've found Empire West’s services to be indispensable, due to their knowledge of the business and their many years of experience. As a frequent traveler, I am constantly in need of assistance resolving whatever unexpected issues come up while I’m away….I feel so much better knowing that Alisa, Jenny, Olivia and the rest of the team are just a phone call away. I've had a very positive experience with Empire West. Our leasing and move in process was simple and efficient. Unlike other reviewers, I have found the staff at Empire West to be very friendly and accommodating.  In fact, I am updating my rating from 4 stars to 5:Olivia in the office will keep in touch my either phone or email if you are having any issues; Ana and the maintenance team has been very nice.  Occasionally, it takes a while for something to get done, but they are very responsive and will find out why there's been a delay if you ask.  They replaced my heater and stove during my two years in my apartment without giving me a hard time, and have never been rude.  I am actually leaving my apartment in the coming month, and Olivia was great about the notice given, and went over the guidelines to make sure that I'll get my deposit back, etc.Update and reason for rating increase: I've officially moved out.  I was a day late in getting my keys to the management because of my crazy work schedule.  They called to see if it would be more convenient for them to come to me (although it wasn't necessary that day).  It has now been 10 days since I vacated, and when I checked in with Olivia on the phone, she said that everything has already been taken care of, that they will begin showing it next week, she thanked me for leaving the apartment in good condition, and said she will be getting a check ready within the next day or two.  In case you missed that, THEY ARE GETTING READY TO ISSUE MY DEPOSIT BACK 10 DAYS AFTER VACATING, WHICH IS LESS THAN HALF THE LEGAL AMOUNT OF TIME THEY HAVE TO DO SO.All I have to say after my experience is that anyone posting negative reviews must have had issues with paying their rent on time or with evictions, etc.  There is no other reason that they would not be friendly, helpful and accommodating.
