I wish I had found Emily Scott earlier. She helped us so much in understanding our dog Wicket in his last days. She also recommended Dr. Scheidt At Sierra view animal Hospital, which was a game changer for us. My only regret is that I did not find Emily earlier! If you are needing help in training your dog, Emily Scot is the person you want to see! The money is worth it!! More...

Emily is amazing!! Our sweet pup started training at almost 4 mo the old since we were aware that being a herding mix breed we needed to keep his natural instinct under control. Emily provides us with great tools to help our Bodhi be social, take visual and auditory quest and become confident in himself. We would recommend Emily hands down. More...

My husband and I both grew up with dogs we’d had since puppyhood but we were in a world of pain trying to deal with separation anxiety in our new (8yo) rescue German Shepherd/Alaskan Malamute. It was heartbreaking for us to see how distressed he would get even if we left the room. Emily’s separation anxiety program was absolutely incredible. She was able to educate and impart her wisdom so efficiently, but it equipped us with skills for life that translated into immediate results. Our gorgeous boy is now loving life and we can never thank Emily enough, we are so lucky to have her right here in town. Thank you Emily! More...

Hi Emily! I have not even had a dog trained with Emily Scott but I worked many years in another field but saw her work with many dogs to slowly build their confidence up and her dogs are always happy! It’s obvious here that her general kindness and concern for canines and their successful training. As a breeder of Pembroke Welsh Corgis I wouldn’t hesitate to send my clients nearby to her for any training or behavioral issues! ***** 5 stars ⭐️ More...

Emily saved the life of our dog. As a family participating actively in a rescue program, we see many different dogs on a regular basis. Often they are with us for hours or maybe a day or two. Occasionally one sticks around. Our latest permanent "foster" was a problem dog who couldn't find a family that could keep him.

With dogs like this - a fifty pound neutered male - we used to rely on pinch collars, choke chains and in the past even tried shock collar training. This particular dog was not doing well outside and faced a future of life in a crate except for meals and potty time. He was extremely mouthy and in past cases similar to his, 1-2 serious bites would mean the end. He was reactive (negatively) and often went in to barking and snarling "rages".

Emily was able to tell us quite a bit about his mysterious past and what most likely led to his current behaviors. In his case what most would see as aggression is almost entirely rooted in fear. With that understanding we embarked on months of training using Emily's positive reinforcement and behavior modification techniques. Our dog has learned to control most of his impulses and you can see him thinking about his reactions to external stimuli most of the time.

Working with Emily gave us a chance to see what our dog is thinking. We learned to help him make the right choices through positively reinforcing the right decision when faced with situations that used to put him in the red zone. He now lives in the house with the people most of the day and accepts our geriatric, white-faced other rescue dog. They sometimes lay side-by-side in his area of the house. Her acceptance of him in this way is its own testimony to the changes in him brought about by this training. She used to get away from him, tail tucked, every time she encountered him.

To this day our dog doesn't like men that much. Meeting new people is a process, although it depends on the situation and the environment, but we have the skills and our dog has a lot of practice at proper decision making.

Emily helped him learn how to play in a way that is appropriate and fun for him as well as the human, which wasn't the way he played before she worked with us. This is another huge contribution she made to the quality of life in our home. He loves his life now.

I can only imagine what a wonderful life you could have with your dog if you started this training with a dog you got as a puppy. In our case, we are still learning and growing with a dog whose first few years of life are a complete mystery. Thanks to Emily's training we are living with a sweet, smart dog who is playing and practicing making good choices every day. In his case, living is something that wasn't guaranteed until he met Emily.

Emily could not have been MORE helpful and kind and informative when I consulted with her about a serious behavior problem between our dogs. They have been in obedience training elsewhere and also agility and I feel I can say, hands down, no one has ever been as knowledgeable, connected, and respectful of my input and impressions while completely equipped to offer in-depth insight and advice. I felt very supported and hopeful and will be working with Emily again soon. MANY thanks, Emily. Your level of professionalism and generosity of heart is a treasure and so appreciated. More...

Fast forward a couple years since starting with Emily...We just put away our leash that says “CAUTION” on it. We will never get rid of it. We just are using one now that says “NERVOUS”. I am the one who is cautious now. I just want other people to know Dexter takes a while to warm up sometimes because he is nervous. We have been cautious introducing Dexter to his 1 1/2 year old “cousin” Shadow. After a few months, we are now able to visit my parents with both dogs off leash. I can walk 3 dogs without problems now. Emily taught me how to be a confident and responsible dog owner. Dexter and I now walk with him right beside me while I wear the gentle leader around my neck instead of Dexters head. When a scary dog or an antagonistic squirrel cross our path, I can now say “leave it” without being pulled along in the chase. We will never stop working because he continues to progress. I will always keep my safety items close at hand but am proud to say Dexter listens and trusts ME now! Thank you again Emily! You are a life changer! More...

Emily Scott was an answer to our prayers. Our German Shepherd Luke is 4 years old and has severe elbow dysphasia. Luke also has strong protective and guarding behaviors that made it difficult to take him for a walk or manage him at home with guests. Emily gave us effective and practical tools that quickly gave us the results needed to take him on stress free walks and calm him in our home environment. Emily gave us a complete psychological understanding of Luke's bread and why he responds the way he does. I now enjoy walks and look forward to guests who arrive in our home. My husband John and I highly recommend Emily with her outstanding ability to connect with your dog and to enhance the joy of being a dog owner. More...
