I am a 77 year old retired L.A.F.D. Firefighter. I met Dr. Bates during one of her trips to California and had a conversation with her about about my longstanding health issues; including cardiac disease with atrial fibrillation (or as my cardiologist called it "A-flutter") that had prevented me from sleeping on my left side for the past few years and required prescription medication that failed to affect the flutter. Dr. Bates advised me of specific changes in my diet and recommended a series of natural supplements that immediately reduced the constant "flutter" but I remained unable to sleep on my left side. After a further phone consultation I determined to visit her office in Duluth where she treated my triple bypass scar with a very sophisticated medical device. That very night and since her treatment I was finally able to sleep on my left side. She was very professional, knowledgeable and caring and her bill was far more reasonable that the M.D.s who had previously treated me but failed to improve my condition. I am a very satisfied customer and will continue to consult with Dr. Bates concerning increasing health issues as I age. More...

I went to Dr. Cindy Bates at Elite Sports Medicine after I had seen an Orthopaedic Doctor and had an MRI. The Orthopaedic Dr. told me that I had a herniated disc in my lower back and that he would set me up for a cortisone shot in 2 weeks (that was the earliest I could get in) and then set up an appointment for physical therapy not until 3 months after that when he could get me in! I went to him with a pain going up my leg from the ankle to the knee - at that first point from a 1-10 pain, it was a 10. It was unbearable! I truly felt it wasn't from my back because if I walked on my foot for an hour (and put up with that 10 pain for 15 minutes of that time) the pain would go away. It would come back after I sat or slept for more than 2 hours without getting up and walking. I knew my lower disc was somewhat bulged but it never caused me any pain. This pain just came on quickly one day and right to a "10" and it was only going from my ankle to my knee - going up not down. It just didn't feel right that it was my back.. there was no pain there and you could touch all around there and still no pain. I also couldn't wait 2 weeks - the prednisone he gave me for one week was done and he didn't want to give me another prescription for the 2nd week (and I still don't know why)...I found Dr. Cindy Bates and got in the next day once we talked on the phone. We went over the pain, where it was and the history of my back and the MRI. She felt as I did that it was not my back but looking more like something with my ligament or tendon that is down by my ankle on my foot and that tendon or ligament goes up exactly where the pain was!! When she touched it at the bottom I felt that pain immediately. To make longer story shorter, she used the tools she has to remedy this pain and within 3 weeks of seeing Dr. Bates 4 out of 5 days during each week.. that pain was completely gone! I no longer need a cortisone shot (which the Orthopaedic Dr said may or may not work!), no physical therapy. Additionally, I knew I had some other issues and with consulting Dr. Bates, I feel like I am so much more energized and understanding of what goes on in my system and what to do. She has me for a patient for any time I feel the need to see her and consulting as well. She is pleasant and really cares about her patients! She has just about any type of tool she may need - acupuncture as well.I would definitely recommend Dr. Bates anytime! As far as expenses, if you compare to what the hospitals charge; her charges are nothing to that..(the MRI alone was $1600 and then the Orthopedic Dr appts were a total of $400 and I know that Cortizone shot that I didn't do would have been over another $1,000!) I thought Dr Bates costs were fair and not crazy! More...
