I love the islands and anything having to do with tropical themes and was attracted to the store as i passed by on Soquel Ave.  I was looking for a dining room set that was elegant yet functional and noticed Element had many choices of beautiful options that were affordable and fit the tropical theme in my home.  I bought a beautiful dining table and chair set made from honduran mahogany.  Later I moved and one of the table legs was lost somehow in the move.  I asked Alan if he could get me another table leg.  Not only did he quickly get me a matching table leg at no cost, he also threw in some extra mahogany pieces that i used for building a bench seat for the table as well as extra table legs!  This company is a great example of extraordinary customer service.  A+ More...

I love the stuff in this store but I always have the most awkward experience. I've always felt like I'm being followed around like a shop lifter, and now that it's moved there are many (MANY) signs about surveillance, shoplifting, towing your car, etc. It's a little more paranoid than aloha. After our home burnt a couple of years ago we looked around at several places to refurnish our home. We saw nothing that said yes this is home until we remembered Element Home Furnishings and how helpful they were when I was looking for a simple item such as a glass watering can. So we stopped in and well we furnished our home every room. We love the feeling when we walk into our home. Even though our home is small and we have all the furnishings we need we still stop in to get Birthday gift and such and well just the sent of the store makes you relax and forget. Love Element! Maui is our second home, and we are always looking for tropical/beachy additions to our home and gifts for others. Have bought many pieces of furniture here, as well as decorations, glassware, blankets, stickers, cards, you name it! And now they've moved, love the new location, so much more spacious, which means more to look at and more things to consider buying! Plan to be here for about an hour at least, there are little knick knacks in every corner and inch of this place, it's great!! Been shopping here for several years!  Was so excited after a trip to Maui to find that we had a local store so I didn't have to bring the entire island back in my luggage anymore!  The furniture is beautiful!  With the help of Alan I have pieced together almost my entire home with furniture from here.  They have always been so helpful every time I have gone in there.  Even if I just want to come by to purchase my favorite plumeria lotion!  The new location across the street is great!  Whether you want Hawaiin or even beach feeling decor, furniture, or accent pieces...this is the place to go! What a great store! Fun like a treasure hunt with a terrific variety of Hawaiian and tropical merchandise that will quench your thirst for the islands.  There are wonderful gifts and decor, soaps, lotions and candles and gorgeous jewelry.  Besides the ever changing decor; furniture and art; Element supports local artists work as well.  Love the one stop shopping and love the great service! I have shopped at Element for years and love it.  Whenever I'm looking for something new to decorate with - its my first, and often my last stop. My place is full of Element items.... The most beautiful island decor store in Santa Cruz County! Walking in the door takes me right back to vacation memories, complete with the scents of island florals like pikaki and plumeria. They have unique and beautiful items in every nook and cranny. A few of my most-loved treasures in my home include a woven banana leaf mirror, coconut shell sconces and palm tree candleholder I purchased at Element. My sister has the beautiful mahogony bedroom set and it looks fantastic. This store reminds me of walking along the marketplaces in Hawaii. LOVE IT! More...

We had been looking for a dining table, chairs and buffet to match our other contemporary dining-area furniture. Element was recommended by the manufacturer of our other pieces as the closest store that sold the line we were looking for. We had never heard of them, but they had what we wanted (or could order it for us) and the prices were very reasonable.  Owner Alan Kirkman went above and beyond to help us get what we needed and turned us into huge fans of Element. He even visited our home to see our color scheme then went to the manufacturer's warehouse in Oakland and took photos of all the possible fabric options we were considering for chairs and helped us make a choice that would match our decor--we are VERY happy with the chairs!  We are thrilled with our furniture, and really blown away by the level of service Alan offered. He emailed and/or called when he said he would, he delivered the furniture on time as promised, and overall he was a total delight to do business with. I just moved to Santa Cruz and was looking for a rattan sofa. I found Elements and what a treat!! The quality and selection is amazing. We've been shopping at EHF for a couple of years now and love it! They have a wonderful selection of tropical furnishing and decor, all at very reasonable prices. We've bought everything from tiny do-dads and gifts to a complete bedroom set. Alan and Matt will even go the extra mile to make sure their customers are satisfied  -- not only did they deliver our bedroom furniture, but then they even assembled the massive bed and canopy frame for us to make sure it was done correctly.
