Have stayed here many times and I always rebook this place. I like the location. It is close to the Plaza Santa Fe, within walking distance of SITE Santa Fe and the Santa Fe farmers market, and to many restaurants. They do add a daily $25 charge for things like WiFi, water, and parking. But if they have a car, it is great deal. They are dog friendly, so lots of dogs.... but Santa Fe in general is dog friendly. Staff is great and the Nidah Spa is very nice. More...

Visited Santa Fe for an extended weekend and chose this hotel for its location and beauty. The hotel is a short walk away from most places to visit in Santa Fe. The room was large, very clean, comfortable for two of us. The dining in the hotel is very good and the concierges at the front desk extremely helpful. They were able to arrange shuttle rides for us to various attractions, recommend areas to walk through for site-seeing and worked extra hard to answer any of our questions. The hotel itself is beautiful and full of the art that makes Santa Fe such a beautiful place to visit. More...

It was our first time to Santa Fe, so we decided on the El Dorado. The hotel is incredibly nice and you couldn't ask for a better location. Lots of nearby shops and restaurants. Everything in walking distance. The Agave was a nice feature in the hotel and we really enjoyed our drinks there on our first night. My husband mentioned that we were there to celebrate our anniversary at check-in and they were kind enough to send up champagne and a beautiful bouquet of flowers! We would personally like to thank Anahi and Esther for that sweet, sweet gesture. We'll definitely be back in the future. More...

This hotel is downright gorgeous. Plopped in a central location and built to look like local infrastructure it was a fantastic choice. Walking distance to all of the important features of Santa Fe and I have seldom experienced a staff as friendly as that at Eldorado. There may be no gold in the basement but the rooms, the theme, the food and the experience were truly golden. More...

Nice hotel, wonderful service at the check in desk from Esther, and good breakfast the hotel restaurant. Decent fitness room, which I had all to myself. The walls are quite thin though. We could hear every word of the couple in the next room, and they were talking in normal voices. Good value for the price. Just be sure to pack ear plugs. More...

This hotel is very well located in one of my favorite cities in the world, which makes up much of my rating, but I agree with the previous reviewer who said the level of luxury suggested by the lobby and bar isn't supported by the rooms. (I'd add to that the spa -- I had a manicure that ended up costing about $100 that wasn't particularly relaxing and only lasted for about four days.)||||My husband and I were here for a wedding, which was absolutely spectacular, but that was more due to the effort of the couple and their team than the hotel itself. The walls were incredibly thin; we could hear conversations from the room next to us at what seemed like a normal volume for them. And as for the bar -- we spent quite a bit of time there, but we felt like only the male bartender with hair that was shaved on the sides and a bit of a pompadour (I wish I'd gotten his name) was really on top of things. There were multiple times when we'd sit at the bar and his colleagues, who didn't seem to be working on much else, wouldn't break from their conversations to serve us. There were a few times that he'd see that, get frustrated, and fast track service for us. ||||Santa Fe is absolutely incredible, and this is a good, but not great, place to experience it in a fantastic location. There is a delta between how it's marketed and what the reality is, and I'd just keep that in mind when selecting your Santa Fe accommodations. More...

Best hotel stay ever. I've been to so many high end hotels for work etc I cant count and I say this without a shadow of a doubt the service and level of kindness at this hotel beats every other one. Esther at the front desk is by far the best hotel employee I've ever met. Awesome with recommendations always has a smile always looking to go the extra mile for you. Hands down not even close I've never come across anyone at any of the Four Seasons , Waldorf, Peninsula etc even as close to talented as her. The hotel itself is great too has a very warm vibe to it. I was in room 533. Had a small terrace with the mountains in the distance also had a fireplace ( didnt use it didnt have time to ) also the location is great just a couple blocks from Santa Fe Plaza. All the other employees were super nice also. No way would I even look at another hotel in Santa Fe. If you know the best why look elsewhere More...

The Eldorado is a medium-sized property located in the heart of Santa Fe and a short walk from many of the most popular eateries and attractions. The lobby and bar areas suggest a level of luxury that the rooms can't quite match, but our queen deluxe room was spacious and had a comfortable bed and it was always clean. The staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. ||||The biggest annoyance at this property was the transmission of noise between rooms. When the room adjacent to ours was occupied we could hear every word of conversation between the occupants. We assume they could easily hear us too. Fortunately we only had an adjoining room on one side. I can imagine that hearing noise from both sides would have been even worse. More...

Just stayed here for a conference and I am very happy I got the chance to do so. The hotel is right in the heart of downtown Santa Fe and is easy walking access to all the shops, museums, and restaurants. At the same time, the hotel itself had plenty of room for a conference without feeling squeezed in. The ballrooms had good IT with minimal audio/visual issues. The reception area in CAVA was also comfortable and the food was good. The hotel rooms themselves are certainly Santa Fe style and historic feeling while also modernized with a walk in shower. Bed was comfortable. My wife studied in the room with the desk not being too small for a laptop and books. We didn’t get the greatest view out the back overlooking the delivery area and exit from the garage, and the walls were a bit thin for noise, but it did not really impact our stay. Heavy curtains kept the room nice and dark. Nice little pool on the roof deck of the fifth floor with a hot tub. All parking at the hotel is by valet only and underground. Parking is included in the resort fee if you are staying at the hotel. More...

I prepaid and booked our stay with an online vendor weeks in advance we were coming from out of state. Late the night prior to our air travel, I sent a message about the amenities. I received a message back with the info, but the rep state that he found that our reservation was cancelled supposedly by us. I assured them we did not. Spoke with a James, and he said they have the right to cancel reservations that were not made directly with the hotel and don't have to notify us. He reinstated them, well aware that we were paid in full. Even gave me a confirmation number. After a long day of connecting flights we arrived in New Mexico, and I checked my email and the hotel again cancelled my reservation. I called and spoke with James and he explained they have the right to cancel reservations even if they are paid in full. I told him that was unacceptable and he reinstated our room again. Arrived at the hotel and did get our room. The hotel was nice and the staff was friendly. Tried to speak to this person named James, and the desk seemed confused. They must use fictitious names in customer service, because both times I dialed the hotel directly not an 800 number. Also I received an email upon arrival from a response to my original email from a Rahel in El Dorado reservations who confirmed that my original reservation was paid for and still current and to check in after 4pm. Upon arrival to the hotel the front desk said they had to have my credit card to hold on the room, in case that we charged anything to the room and confirmed that our room was already paid in full with our original reservation. We came home and in checking my credit card statement on line. The hotel charged me for the room again. This is completely unacceptable. This hotel not only caused a lot of stress pre flight, pre arrival and now after we returned home. What a horrible company to ruin our trip. We were traveling from Michigan to New Mexico to visit my sister who is terminally ill and the hotel caused undue stress on a visit that was already emotional. Now I have to go through a long process with the credit card company to get reimbursed. Way to go El Dorado Hotel for causing such drama. Dear owner in your response for me to contact the manager to get the double charge corrected is severely flawed. I had attempted two days ago to reach your establishment to get this corrected. I asked for the manager and the front desk seemed confused to what the managers name was, and said he was not available. How could she know if she didn't know his name. So I asked for the assistant manager and she said he was not available either. I asked for his name and it took a while for her to answer. Finally she said his name was Roosevelt and that she would have him call me back once he was available. I am still waiting and it is the end of the third day since I left my message. You have my phone number on record, so maybe you might have better luck in getting your staff to call me back to get this straightened out.I would like to thank Ariana, from the Eldorado Hotel for helping us through resolving our issues. The hotel has gone above and beyond in taking care of this dilemma. This was the first time that I had ever booked a room through a third party and I will definitely in the future only book directly with the hotel itself. I have changed your rating to a 5 and we hope to stay there again in the near future. Thank you again for changing an unfortunate experience into a pleasant vacation memory. More...
