My new favorite Taco spot! I love this place. Located right off the 17 on/off ramp it can be easily missed. I walked in and was immediately seated. The inside dinning was small, but decorated well and had fun music. Before I even ordered, an appetizer was brought fresh from the kitchen. They have a great selection of drinks, liquor, and house cocktails. The menu is very authentic, but easy to order from for the unfamiliar. I had Asada and carnitas tacos. They were amazing! The tortilla was fresh off the griddle, the meat well seasoned, and the filling was VERY fresh. Everything was very fresh! The service was also great. The hostess and bartender were both very nice, welcoming, and eager to have you try a variety of foods. In the back of the restaurant they have a very welcoming outdoor seating area. It's decorated with lights for at night and looks like a good time during their weekly salsa night. The parking lot can get a little crowded during lunch and dinner, so just a heads up. Overall, I will be a very active patron to El Pincho after that awesome experience! More...

Glad to find good vegetarian tacos! Stopped in after 9:00 on a Friday night and sat at the bar. The vegetarian tinga taco is amazing! The flavor comes mostly from marinated hibiscus flowers, and you'd never know what they are if the menu didn't tell you. The veggie chorizo tacos are OK. Not the most flavorful veggie chorizo but it comes with diced onion and cilantro, and I added one of the salsas to boost the flavor. I also had the rice and black beans, which were very well prepared. I would come back again. More...

Wow! Came here with some friends for a late dinner. Must stop for Margaritas! Great tacos, service, and bang for your $$$I had the house Margarita- Yum! Perfect balance of sweet without being overdone. Clearly tastes freshly made...no store bought mixes here. Tacos: I had the Asada, chorizo, and the carnitas taco. They were all delicious. The tortillas are fresh and made in house. All the meats were seasoned well and overall while simple the tacos hit the spot.Lastly, we had churros for dessert. They were to die for! Stuffed with custard and crispy on the outside, definitely a great finish to the meal.Atmosphere: super cozy spot. Focused around a U shaped bar. I'm a huge fan of Mexican food but I had never tried El Pincho food truck. My first experience was at the brick and mortar. We sat out back and were brought chips and salsa immediately. Surprisingly our chips were potato chips rather than tortilla. Still delicious and both chips and salsa were clearly homemade. Based on a recommendation, we started with chorizo queso. A large skillet with lots of meat and homemade tortilla chips arrived with our drinks. I opted for sopes while my companions tried quesadilla and tacos. Our food arrived with three sauces along with the homemade salsa verde. None of the food disappointed. I ordered three tacos - al pastor, chicken & nopales. My wife ordered a variety of tacos. The al pastor and chicken were great. The nopales one was as expected, ok given it was vegetarian - I try to sneak in healthy stuff. My wife gave a 5 out of 5 on her food. I give 4 out of 5. I moved from California to Charleston in August 2018 and was immediately desperate for Mexican food. What a waste; Charleston is not synonymous with great ethnic food and I really suffered for good tacos, salsas, tortas, etc. Jesus wept. So when I heard about El Pincho, I was skeptical, but intrigued. But my friend Su was adamant; this place was authentic and had stuff to appease everyone. Damn it feels good to be a gangsta. What a wonderful addition to Charleston. It's north of the King Street mayhem and is off of Meeting in a food/bar strip mall that almost looks like a trailer. Table space is at a minimum, but is good for large parties. Check out the daily specials and you won't be disappointed: tacos ranging from mushroom to asada & chorizo to borrego (lamb). Other delights are the salsa flight, hibiscus tea, horchata ... just everything! More...

Finally, a place that is not afraid to throw some spice at me! When you first walk in, you are immediately welcomed by the staff who are more than eager to make sure you have a fantastic experience. They started us off with free chips, which is one of the best ways to win me over! After looking over the menu, I decided on 2 tacos and a tostada and Christian went for the Pierna Torta. I enjoyed the campechano, which had a mix of a couple of different meats and garnished solely with white onion and cilantro. The meat was so well seasoned that it didn't need much garnish anyway. It was savory, salty, and spicy and it kept me coming back for more. The second taco I enjoyed was the Al Pastor. I was especially excited about it because I could see them carving the meat off a giant stack that was perfectly roasted and crispy on the outside. The pineapple added a sweetness to go with the rich, savory meat. The last item that I would recommend is the chipotle chicken tostada. The tostada stayed together surprisingly well and I enjoyed the toppings of the sour cream and crunchy lettuce as well. Christian really enjoyed his torta, which had a tangy tomatillo sauce on it to really brighten it up. Overall, we had a great experience at El Pincho and we will be going back very soon! The service is amazing and the place is run by 2 lady bosses, so go support them! More...

Thumbs up for authentic Mexican food! Found El Pincho Taco at a local brewery this Saturday night. The menu seemed worthy of ordering, as I love Mexican food. But I now see the price of 3 tacos for $11 is slightly higher than 3 tacos for $10 as indicated by another review. Went with the chipotle pollo, pibil, and chorizo. Wow, not only good flavor but no need for extra hot sauce. They had 4 hot sauces you could add, on and sample first. They blew my mouth up with heat, then the tacos did not even need it. My favorite was the pibil (pork) with habanero cabbage slaw & pickled onions. Someone next to us also had the potato medley taco and said it was their favorite. We also had the esquite, corn in a cup with cotija cheese, and it was just ok for us. The minus star was the service, as I ordered when there was no line and then sat down at the bar and waited. And waited. I had to return to ask, and appears they forgot. But I would order again, and I enjoyed it, though the husband could not handle the authentic spice level. More...
