Was just leaving Kennedy Space Center on vacation needed to eat before driving back to Orlando drove past this place with a completely full parking lot and was like "must be good" swing a u turn and am soo glad we stopped! I'm a fan of this place! We went here for the first time for a work dinner celebration and it was very good. The salsa is amazing and the guac is so good and I don't even like guacamole! I haven't been here for years as the Mexican food tasted more like Cuban. I enjoyed today's meal  for the most part.  I ordered alacarte a cheese enchilada,   Colorado beef enchilada with salsa verde. The Chile relleno was disappointing as it had a faintly rancid and oily taste. I ate 2 bites and handed the rest over to one of my fellow diners who agreed on the 'off' flavor. I almost didn't come. The reviews are ambivalent at best and I understand a bit why although I do not agree.If you are expecting traditional cuban flavors you'll be disappointed.  If you are looking for traditional Mexican flavors, it's a hit or miss. What I found was tasty food at great prices and great service. If that is what you are looking for, by all means you should come on by.Chelsey was my waitress and she was sweet, charming and incredibly helpful. She definitely swayed this review.As if not more important, I found value in a food that although not the most delicious latin food I've ever eaten (I live in Miami folks, I know my latin food) its quality surpassed the price significantly.So don't hesitate and give it a try. Howdy y'all.  I'll make this one fast since I'm on the road.   Short - get some...    Very good food here, the Cuban lunch items are super.  I had the Ropa Vieja and a Chili Relleno.The meat in the Ropa Vieja is amazing.    It is super tender and very good flavor.   It comes with roasted Plantains, black beans and white rice.   The Plantains were superb, beans were good, white rice was meh...    I mixed the beans and rice to make a decent blend.   The soft "egg batter" Relleno was OK, but tasted like it was made earlier and warmed back up.   So that part was a bummer.   Their salsa is one of the better ones I have had and I enjoyed it a lot.  Bottom line is I would totally make a special trip to hwy 1 for this dish again. Amazing place to eat. The food is great and the service is very good. We ask for Pauline to be our server.  She is alway great. Juan is my second choice for a server. The snapper is great and so is everything else there. Get there early because the place fills up fast. Worst case we have waiter 20 minutes, and it is well worth the weight. We eat there regularly. As a Pescatarian (the only meat I eat is fish) I had several choices at this restaurant. My meal was delicious, I ordered the Mango Salmon with Plantains. The salsa had a very good flavor and also had a slight kick to it. The guacamole was great as well and very fresh. We visited on Easter Sunday for dinner and I was surprised there was no wait. The food had good flavor and was nice and hot. The service could have been a bit better but overall this was a good experience. Prices are a bit more than other restaurants with the same type of food. Today was my first time at El Leoncito, and first and foremost I'll be back! We live not too far so we were looking for a new place to eat, totally forgetting their was a rocket launch. Since it's across from the river it brought a large crowd. The restaurant at first had parties waiting because of the launch, but the transition was smooth, and the gentleman at the front was super courteous. When we were sat the waitress took our order right away, drinks came fast and so did the food. The food was great and I didn't get a stomach ache like I do at most Mexican restaurants. I was absolutely impressed by this restaurant. I came here on a Sunday with a group of about 30 people and we were seated within 10 minutes. The staff was very attentive, not once did we have to ask for help. The food was equally impressive as well. I ordered the fish tacos which come with rice and beans, it was delicious!!! For dessert we ordered the Fried ice cream, unfortunately it was not what we expected. The flavors were there in the dish, but the texture was not. Always try to order something new Everytime we go and it's all amazing. I'm stuck on my raspberry margaritas I always taste the other ones but that one is my favorite we come several times a month and have yet to be dissapointed! !! Great food! Great service!! I can't agree, I took my German husband there a number of times last year when we relocated to Titusville and lived in the bed&breakfast (Casa Coquina) across the road (we joked it was the "hotel restaurant"). We even met some of the family members (hello to the German gentleman there)!
Food was always good, any issues were fixed, changes we wanted were made.
There sometimes are new people serving who don't know the ropes yet. We've seen that, too. Tell the restaurant owners! We did, and things were handled. More...

Our favorite Titusville restaurant! Tonight it was slammed busy but our server, Ramon was amazing. Our drinks stayed filled and our requests were met immediately. The fajitas were amazing! Very Good. I had the Enchilada with Chili Relleno re fried beans and rice. The order had a minor miss as I ordered ground beef and got chicken Enchilada, which they did offer to correct, but as it all tasted so good I declined. The chips and salsa supplied as an appetizer had nice fresh chips and spicy salsa, also very good. A hot sauce, (i.e. Tabasco or Habenero on the table would have been nice). I see several negative reviews here and I'm dumbfounded. I lived in this area for some time and was a regular both here and at at their previous location. This place has some of the best Mexican and Cuban food I've ever had including the 10 years I spent in South Florida. My most recent visit to El Leoncito only cemented my opinion. We moved here from CA where Mexican food is Amazing, so far this has been the best "Mexican food" we have found in FL. We show up weekly for Taco Tuesday. The salsa is mediocre but chips are amazing. We normally get decent service but this past week I ordered my usual 2x potato tacos Ă la carte. I received 2 different tacos and sides. I made them aware as soon as they set it down. I was told they would go check. The rest of my family completely finished eating when I finally received my tacos. No apologies from anyone. We took a risk on the lower star reviews of the prior people but when we drove up, the parking lot was packed so we said "what the heck". The restaurant was very good and we were seated within about 10 minutes despite it being full. We ordered the large guacamole and thank God we did because our kids devoured it, as did we.  It was also cool in the waiting area to see all of the notes and pictures Of astronauts who have eaten here. I love this restaurant. Hubby and I discovered it by happenstance on a trip to Florida years ago. Now we live in Florida and come here a couple times a month. Every dish we've ordered here has come out fresh and tasty. On our last visit on a Sunday afternoon, the place was packed so we had quite a wait to get our food. But all was wonderful. This time hubby had fajitas and I had a taco / enchilada combo. Nothing was greasy or heavy. My hard shell, shredded beef taco was just perfect - crunchy shell down to the bottom where the beef sits. Wish I'd have ordered two!And our server - David - was fabulous. He had a big group to attend to, plus everyone else in the room. This is a kind of odd dual cuisine place, Mexican and Cuban. When we entered for lunch it felt more Mexican influenced, so that is what I went with, I will say that the chips and salsa were generic and need an upgrade. My meal on the other hand was very good.
