GREAT food! Was recommended to us from a homeless man on the street, I'm Minnesotan so it's pretty easy to pick on me for a donation. Nonetheless, he wasn't wrong. Best steakhouse on the strip. The servers were very kind to us, and the mixed drinks we ordered were also kind. Very delicious. My boyfriend had the chicken and scalloped potatoes, while I had the lobster bisque soup, with a caesar salad, and some truffle fries to share. Can't vouch for the chicken since I'm a pescatarian, but the caesar was incredible creamy, definitely a house-made sauce. The lobster bisque was devine, creamy as well. The lobster was a pleasant and subtle undertone to the soup, not overpowering, but also not completely missing. Truffle fries were great, hard to mess up a fry though in my opinion. I tried his scalloped potatoes as well, (in true girlfriend form) and whatever sauce was used was so interestingly addictive. Very different, but in the best way. He rarely wants his leftovers, but wanted those scalloped potatoes for a midnight binge. Overall, we were very glad to stop here and eat after our 10-hour car ride. I came here for Christmas Eve. We had a fairly large party of 8. The waiter seemed grumpy and was pretty snippy. My party ordered several holiday drinks. These were predominantly well-reviewed. My brother's drink was brought incorrectly, as he ordered a basic Old Fashion and did not receive this. We ordered two calamari appetizers. These were just average, and they were over-breaded. The seasoned bread was excellent. For my entree, I ordered the New Orleans Mix Grill. This was solid. The filet mignon was excellent. The shrimp was pretty solid with the Cajun spices. The garlic mashed potatoes were pretty good and had good flavor. The andouille sausage was a bit overcooked but was flavorful. We also ordered a few appetizers. The cheesy scalloped potatoes were pretty good, and the mac and cheese was flavorful but a bit lukewarm. Overall, I liked the meal, and I'd come back despite the poor service. Wonderful time!I came to Eddie Merlots as a group for our holiday dinner.  We had about 25 people and they gave us a private room.  Everything was perfect. Everyone ordered off the normal menu and most of us got steaks.   I decided to try the Bone-in Bison Ribeye, which was delicious.   Others got the bone-in beef ribeye which looked amazing and they said it was great.  Each table ordered a bunch of appetizers and sides with the meals.  I don't remember all of them, but they were all really good. We had a company holiday dinner at Eddie's in the semi-private space. It was awesome! Everyone enjoyed the food so much I'm still hearing about it. Organizing the event was so easy and Danielle was incredible. The service during the dinner was impeccable. They were on it! Alex, Ann, and Alicia were incredible and were so nice to our guests. Before the event my husband went to the bar and had a drink with the owner and he was also the nicest guy! You can tell that these people LOVE what they do and they are so damn good at it! Server Jay was excellent. Took 45 minutes to get appetizer; but not Jay' s issue. He kept us informed, apologized, reported it to mgmt. The Manager however made a "blow by aappearance" to the table giving false concern. I finally made it to Eddie Merlots after years contemplating it. I always thought it would be too much hassle to get parking, but I went ahead and used valet. The restaurant is SO much larger than I thought it was with many different dining areas and they are quite lavish in décor, absolutely gorgeous. The service is impeccable. The food is some of the BEST I had anywhere. My wife and I each shared appetizers of miniture crab cakes and beef Wellingtons and spinach and artichoke dip with pita toast. For our entrée we chose 10 ounce filet, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. For dessert she ordered cheese cake and I ordered crème brulee. Everything was VERY good. Portions were plentiful and we brought plenty of food home when we were finished. It was one of the best dining experiences we ever had, though we dined with an awesome couple at our table too. We plan on going back very soon since I bought a $100 gift card with another $25 card for free. I have been to many fine dining restaurants in Louisville and must say Eddie Merlots is right there in the top 3, possibly #1.Props go out for George Carpenter Jr., General Manager for running a tight ship, Bonifacio and his crew for taking care of our table better than we could have hoped for, knowing what we wanted before we even asked and Casey :) in the nest for being so cordial and helpful. We went to Eddie Merlot's to celebrate my birthday on December 10th. We have frequently gone to this location for special occasions. We were promptly seated by the hostess. The wine list was very detailed and we decided on a good Pinot Noir. Cat was our server and she was excellent!  We had fresh oysters as an appetizer. The oysters were not properly shucked and we made sure our server was advised.  She thanked us for this information. We both had filet mignon, chopped salad, and loaded baked potato. Everything was perfect! Our server brought a complimentary dessert in honor of my birthday. The reason we are not giving five stars on this review is that the appetizer was not perfect, and we were never visited by the manager.  We know the manager and we were disappointed that he did not stop by during our visit.
