They just reopened due to covid, and the place was dead empty. The food was superb, sashimi/nigiri tasted very fresh. The Mac and cheese was amazing! The pick 3 lunch special for $17 is a huge deal. We thought it would be smaller portions but we got what looked like full portions of each selection, plus a huge salad, 2 gyoza and big bowl of miso! Great place. Ebisu is the best Japanese we've had in a while! Everything was perfect, from our waitress (Jessica) to the food. Jessica knew the food and drink well and made excellent suggestions for sake, appetizers and main dishes. She also made sure that my dietary restrictions were taken care of - and answered my numerous detailed questions regarding the menu items that interested me. We started with the Tuna and Hamachi crudos. You eat first with your eyes and OMG, the presentation was outstanding! The fish was fresh and well prepared. Both dishes were amazing! (I'm going to run out of adjectives for excellence!). Since the sushi looked so appetizing at other tables, we ordered the salmon nigiri (I didn't get a pic because it looked so wonderful, my son and I just gobbled it up!). Best sushi salmon I've had in a long time. For dinner, my husband got the Spicy Korean Fried Chicken (excellent); I got the Bounty of the Sea (also excellent); and my son got the 183 Scallop and Shrimp (incredible presentation! just wish they took the tails off the shrimp for this one).
