Of the utmost importance to your health is nutrition, sleep and movement, not in any order. They are truly dependent on each other for optimal, disease free life. Nutrition is the cornerstone to good health in that it is the fuel of the body and mind. Did you know that your brains can only use glucose or sugar/carbos as energy. The body does not function well if you limit or restrict your intake of any of the macronutrients, Carbos, Fats or Proteins. Additionally, each form of food ( Fats,Carbs and Protein) are responsible for a critical job in your body. Carbs for energy, both in the body and brain, Fats lubricate and allow movement between your cells and satiate your hungry to help signal to your brain that you are full. And protein is the construction worker of the bunch, building and repairing cells, muscle, bones, tissue. We need it all and we need it all to be good quality food, real food. The misnomer about Carbs is that they are evil, no processed, high sugar junk food that is low quality carbs is indeed evil. But all plant based food( veggies, beans, grains) are basically Carbs and our bodies need and love them as high quality fuel.

I love to educate people on the nutrition. My philosophy is to teach you to become the Nutritionist so you can make educated decisions about your health and nutrition. I want you to become the expert and it is my goal to teach you to understand what you but in your body and how it effects how you feel. I get so much satisfaction when a client tells me that they have been educating their friends, family, co-workers, people in the store on what they learned from me about determining what foods are nutrient rich and why they are good for their health. Makes my day!

I have always been curious about health and nutrition and passionate about sharing my knowledge to help people feel better. I have a B.S. in Wellness from Vanderbilt University and decided after 20+ years in Consulting that I wanted to pursue a degree and career in Nutrition. I chose Hawthorn University because they teach the science of nutrition and the look at one health holistically. Meaning they teach us to view our health, not a specific symptoms but as a whole interconnected components that work together or fail together. For example, a client may have heart burn and we could treat the symptom and them they to take Tums to stop the symptom. But then we have not addressed why they have the heart burn. As a Holistic Nutritionist I am going to look for the root cause of the heart burn and go from there to restore their health.

The simple answer is because I care about them and their health. I am the most passionate person they will find that is on a mission to help educate the world on good nutrition. There is so much mis information out there. What drives me to get up every morning is to set the record straight. To educate and empower people to make smart decision on what they eat. To free them from the vicious cycle of dieting. To teach them to listen and understand their bodies. And finally, to know all foods a OK and eating is a event to be celebrated and enjoyed.

It is not about an end game it is about living and practicing good nutrition now. today…not when I lose 10lbs or eat only this or go on this diet. And once we go through this and you learn about nutrition and the practice of good nutrition how do I use that and apply that to my life to make you healthy and live a healthy life. how practically to nourish your body and but the art and science of nutrition into practice and life.

Weekly lunch seminars to educate about goon nutrition and the science behind nutrition. I will customize the sessions depending on the goals and needs of the group. However, the general sessions are one each week, during lunch or after work for one hour. Some typical topics are below but It will be fluid based on what the employer and employees want and need.

One of the best ways to make you a nutrition expert is to show you how to shop for nutritious food. Let's go shopping.

Many people think you can ONLY get nutritious food at an expensive high-end store like Whole Foods. That is just not true, and I will show you how and why.

First, we will shop where you usually shop. I will ask you to go around the store and buy what you would 'normally.' Then we will go around again. I will point out possible alternatives that are more nutritious and tell you why. I will also share some of the strategies behind how the stores' set up. There is a whole lot of psychology that goes into the placement of food (or merchandising as it's called) and I will teach you how not to fall into the traps.

Secondly, we go to a second grocery store that is more 'healthy' for instance Sprouts, Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. Again, we will ferret out the nutritious and the not so nutritious stuff. Just because a store brands itself as a 'healthy' doesn't mean they have some 'less than healthy' items.

Once we finish our shopping trips, you will feel empowered to make the best decisions in any grocery store you may encounter.

This is something I do myself maybe twice a year. It can be very cathartic. I ditch the expired food, and I purge food that has been sitting in my pantry, unused since the last time. I will do the same for you and more.

Together we will go through your cabinets and fridge and read labels, and talk about ingredients and discuss the health level of each product.

Next, we will purge and categorize. It is much easy and more efficient to have an organized cabinet and fridge when you are cooking and doing meal prep for you or your family.

The two services, shopping tour and makeover really go hand in hand. Although I offer them separately, I recommend we do them as a package.

Turning an assessment into action is an exhilarating part of why you work with a Nutritionist, and for most people, that starts with meal plans.
I will ask you a bunch of questions like:
Do you like to cook? shop? hate both?
Who does the cooking and shopping in the family ?
How often you eat out?
And more...
I will then work with you to develop custom meal plans, snacks, recipes, and food options that will help you make the nutritious decision the easiest decision! I offer this service for usually a month or two until you get the hang of what works and what doesn't. We will fine tune it each week to best match up with your goals and needs. Usually after about a month, I let you try it for yourself but if needed we can continue for as long as needed.


I offer the meal planning as part of my initial game plan but will also do it as a one-off service for my new or existing clients. I will customize meal plans based on your needs and I will teach you to create your own meal plans.
