The guys were really nice and easy to coordinate with. Hiring and setting up the move were easy, they came on time and they were upfront with charges, giving me the opportunity to opt out when they were going to charge extra to move a cabinet with glass doors. However, they did not treat my house as carefully as I would have expected, and banged some holes in the walls at the new house. I used Eastland for my local move in Maryland. Movers showed up on time and did a great job with packing and moving my stuff. Price was reasonable and affordable compared to other companies on the market. I am happy with their service and will use them again. If you schedule an in-house appointment, they will provide you with Flat Rate price and if you agree to that price they wont charge you anything else which is the best option to do business with someone. They broke the leg off of a dresser that I have. It is not able to repair. They clearly know they did it. They did not tell me. I spoke to them about it. They said they would research get back with me. Never heard from them again. I understand getting broken. But hiding it and not assisting with resolving the problem is unacceptable. Also, the driver insisted I sign I receive everything in good condition before they unloaded. I asked why. He said I had to or they will not unload. Matias, Eric, Stivan and Gregory are really hard workers. They moved me from PA to MD within a day. Showed up 8:15am in the morning, packed everything, loaded the truck and at 5pm they were at my delivery house in MD. Took them 3 hours to unload the truck and reassemble everything. We booked a local move through thumbtack with Eastland Movers and I regret this so much. We booked a FULL PACK, and told they will disassemble all of our furniture and re assemble the furniture at the location. We were quoted around $1690 for 8 hours with a military discount. It's a two bedroom two bathroom 1200 sq. foot apartment so it's not very big. The person who booked us said that it usually ends up being less than the quote because it never takes that long. We booked them about a month before the moving day and up until the moving day I heard absolutely nothing from them. So I called two days beforehand and asked what time the moving truck would be there and the person on the phone said they would call the next day by 3 PM and tell me. The next day comes, and 4 PM rolls around and I hear nothing. So I call and they are like okay, we will have somebody call you. EVENTUALLY somebody calls and says that the movers will be there between 10 AM to 12 PM. The next day we are waiting around, packing some stuff up and 12 PM comes around and I call and say nobody has showed up. They tell me that the driver is stuck in traffic and is 20 minutes away, and I'm like that's okay, see him then. At 1 PM I call back and tell them the driver is still not there and they call him back and he says he's 5 minutes out but doesn't come until 1:30 PM. I thought it was weird because GPS is very good at predicting traffic but I let it go. They started around 1:45 and informed me that they don't actually take liquids which is something I was never informed of and would have been nice knowing beforehand. I have an extremely rambunctious two year old so I just wanted to get him out of there. We went to the house we were moving to and unloaded our cars. Four hours later we went back, and the movers had barely started loading the truck. We were so discouraged. We wished we had stayed and watched them to make sure they weren't trying to stretch the time but we had other things to do and this is why we paid so much money to have help moving. When they finally got move of the items out there was stuff left over everywhere and I kept asking them if they could take it and they said they would "see" if they could fit it. I was so over it and frustrated. By the time they got to our house it was dark outside. They backed into our driveway and the truck broke the branches on our tree all over our lawn. They said nothing about it and the guy who takes the payment comes inside and says our quote has changed from 1690 to 2,190. which is 10 1/2 hours of work. NONE of this makes any sense. They tried to not re assemble any of the furniture because it was too dark, even though there were lamps and they were the ones who were three hours late. They didn't re assemble my sons crib, they left boxes everywhere! They left our new house a MESS, you can barely move around the house. They ended up leaving at 10:30 so they didn't even end up working for 10 1/2 hours. I want my money back NOW. I tried calling and my call was ignored and I got a text. They left parts of my couch outside and it rained shortly after they left and its ruined. We started unpacking yesterday and the packing is heinous. The rooms were organized and the packers managed to disorganize EVERYTHING. They broke things. I am so pissed I am crying getting to the end of this message. Although their moving price was competitive, I didn't realize of the THREE movers, TWO spoke NO English. So June 3 was my move date. I got tired of being called 'Mommy' but tried to smile my way through it and kept correcting him. After having a maid service clean up the guest bathroom in the house I was moving from, I didn't appreciate them peeing on my toilet seat, without putting UP the seat, nor cleaning up their lunch trash, drink trash - bottles, etc, which were EVERYWHERE, and certainly didn't know the moving tape they opened doors with would be left that way. After getting to the new location, they moved furniture in, yet left the LABELED boxes in the garage - DIDN'T put them in the house, and they scuffed up the freshly painted wall - no one would admit to. To get that wall filled, repaired and repainted will cost me almost $400!!! The movers didn't put throw rugs down correctly - left lumps, and wouldn't even center my furniture on walls. And after the non-English speaker, Jesus, put the sofa cushions on the couch incorrectly, I said it was ESTUPIDA (stupid), so they LEFT !!! I have followed up with them SIX times and Maria PROMISED me a phone call after she would spoke 'with her manager'. Today, after seeing me on Thumbtack, Luke called and promised me a call tomorrow indicating Maria was in Europe for six weeks and Maria had ALL the pictures.
