This was the first restaurant I tried at 9th & 9th! I stopped in with my fiancé and future in-laws for brunch after we picked them up from the airport. The restaurant is a cute little restaurant on a corner. They have a pretty good beer selection and some brunch drinks. I ordered a Bloody Mary. It's only $4, but it's a small glass. We got queso to share and the waiter overheard us debating between queso and salsa so he brought us a small cup of salsa so we could try as well! The queso was surprisingly good (we're Texans so we had low expectations) and the salsa was a tomatillo salsa so it was very tangy. My fiancé and I shared a bowl of elk chili and the corn cakes. The elk chili was alright, it was honestly a little soupy. But the corn cakes were amazing! The pulled pork was flavorful and the corn cakes had a sweet flavor but not too sweet like it was a dessert. My future mother in law ordered the chorizo fries and had a ton leftover that I just snacked on. Also very tasty. Overall great experience and very attentive service! Would come again :) More...

East Liberty is SO fun! If you are looking for a date night spot or a place for drinks with a friend, this is a great place to go! It is small and intimate so you might have a wait but its absolutely worth it.The draft beers are seasonal and always yummy! They even come in a beaker, instead of a pitcher. Super fun, super cute, and a great price. Food wise, all of the small plates are great for a solo meal or to share. The Chorizo Fries are my favorite starter, followed by the Lamb Belly Tacos, and the S'mores as dessert. All of the burgers are yummy but the fries are to die for!! Parking is the only down fall. If you cant park out front, you'll have to head into the neighborhood. I always feel a little awkward parking in front of peoples homes but you do what you've got to do for those Chorizo Fries! This is a great little local spot with a good atmosphere. This time we sat at the bar. The bar stools are actually comfortable, which is not the case in many places. The menu is small, but what they do, they do right. The pork lettuce wraps are delicious, and the burgers are great. I love the hand cut fries. They are crispy, and delicious. They feature Utah beers and spirits which I appreciate. The service has always been excellent. I wish they had some dinner specials and maybe a few higher end menu items. The patio is nice, especialiy if you want to hang out and be seen. Excellent location, but parking can be tricky. More...

What a great place to go on a Friday after work. Enjoy the patio (though the seating could be more comfortable) and their inexpensive taps or a mixed drink (not so inexpensive). What I like most is that it isn't loud. You can go and have a real conversation with the people at your table and the people around you are not also part of your conversation. Food is very good--I'm a fan of their hummus appetizer and their fries. More...

ELTH is a local favorite of mine, thanks in large part to the great location at 9th & 9th, and the great outdoor patio they have. This is one of the best spots in the city during the summer to casually grab drinks with friends and have a snack. The two reasons ELTH might be a 4 star in my rating are1. the menu always seems to stay stagnant. For the type of vibe they put out, their menu should be updated or at least have some seasonal features. 2. The inside of the building is way too loud. If they just invested in a few acoustic panels, it'd make a world of difference.Love this place. More...

Food is excellent. On my first visit I had the fried cauliflower taco and a fish taco (trout). Both were excellent and I couldn't decide which was my favorite - highly recommend one of each like I did!I don't recommend having an alcoholic beverage here, however. I had 1 beer - that came in a can and it was $10 dollars (a Uinta Brewing Grapefruit IPA). That's a bit steep for a can of beer, damn near buys a 6 pack of the stuff!I'd definitely visit again. Short review:  Tasty and well made food, interior design is quite hipstery and well put together, good music and service.Long review:Chips & Salsa- the salsa was delicious hot and balance flavours, the chips was hot, fresh, well salted and very crispy but the taste of the chips was alittle plain .Hummus- small but quite tasty, as an Israeli i am use to the way ppl make Hummus in Israel whice is very different, but i do respect the interpretation having said that i think the Hummus was alittle grainy and sour to my taste and the Pita bread was made too much as a Tortilla and too less as a Pita whice means more even browness than spots of browness in Tortilla.Pickles- a bit small even for a 3 dollar dish, taste wise it was ok, the Turmeric Cauliflower was a nice touch and a good combo, it did look like the  pickles was alittle dry as the plate was made before order.Veggie Burger-Tasty patty and great fries, the patty was crispy and had great flavour, i am not sure tho that  burger is right way to go with this blend they use for the patty, maybe use the this blend as Falafel on top of hummus and burnt green pepper with some hotness addition, because the buns and all of that burger responsibility does not compliment this nice patty, the fries were crispy outside and soft inside and the taste was great also. They did charge 1 dollar for testing beers without say something about the charge before, which is lack of class imo.Overall we had a nice experience with good food and service, i really like the music and music volume, even tho i think they should make some food tuning in terms of balance and kitchen philosophy, this place is good and i would recommend it. We went here last night for a relaxing night out. Â The patio was full at 4:30 so we sat in the bar and had a drink while waited about 15 minutes for a table. Â While I appreciate the unique cocktails, I'd also like to see a few reasonably priced more traditional ones on the menu. Â When we moved outside we ordered 4 small plates to share: Â lettuce wraps, garlic hummus, split pea falafel, and chorizo fries. Â The garlic hummus was flavorful and served with 2 smallish whole flatbreads. Â The falafel was delicious and was the hands-down favorite. Â They had so much flavor that I didn't even use the dill yogurt sauce they came with. Â The chorizo fries were really good overall, but the chorizo was pretty bland. Â The lettuce wraps were the only thing we didn't like. Â The pork was a little salty and the daikon radish was really overpowering bc it's diced fairly large. Â Our service was great and the patio was so relaxed with a nice mix of mostly 30 and 40 somethings. Â And to the reviewer who is bummed they don't allow dogs...I am a dog owner and love dogs but I like the no dogs policy. Â Some people have serious phobias and allergies and they should get to enjoy this chill patio, too. Â Just my opinion on the matter. More...

came here tonight for dinner and all i can say is wow! best dinner we've had in a little while, my husband and i were both extremely impressed by this cute place. we arrived around 8:00 pm, hostess asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside, we chose outside since tonight actually had some perfect weather. she asked to see our ID's, we didn't realize that this place was labeled as a bar. i had to walk back to my car to go get it, while I did so she cleared a spot for us outside, which was nice. the whole staff seemed very friendly and on top of things, our server included, he constantly came to check on things, refill waters, etc. we ended up sharing the loaded queso dip as an appetizer and added the pulled pork/black bean puree. it cost like $4 extra to do so, but it's absolutely necessary in my opinion. we both ordered the smoked trout tacos, i got chips and salsa with mine and my husband got fries with his, we both loved them! by the time we paid and tipped, everything was $40, which is a great price. we will definitely come back! Disclaimer: I haven't been to the restaurant (but I will go soon, now that I've tried the food!). ELTH is participating in a lunch order program at the building where I work. They offer a couple of menu items once or twice a week, we pre-order a couple days in advance, and then pick up the lunches. I got the lentil salad today. When I ordered it, I tried to add the pulled chicken thigh but the website was glitchy, so I asked if I could buy chicken to go on it today when I picked it up. The guy managing the lunch distribution quickly added chicken for me and didn't charge me. He was so friendly and efficient, and the salad was delicious. Fresh veggies with perfect bite and texture, juicy chicken (I love that it's thigh and not breast meat--so much more flavorful), delicious dressing. The lunch option here is a half salad and it was still good-sized. I now plan to visit the restaurant soon! More...

"ELTH" is a nice place to duck into to have drinks and sample from their food menu. They have a nice outdoor patio which is really relaxed and nice to hang out on. Â We have been frequenting this place for over a year now. Â That said, while it is still a nice place, the menu has become so boring as it rarely offers anything new. Â It's a small menu to begin with so we have made our way down their list too many times already. We'd love to go their more often but they just seem so STUCK in offering the same dishes almost year round. Â We often say "oh lets go grab a beer and a bite at the Tap House" but now reconsider and usually don't go because we can't bring ourselves to eat their same food AGAIN. As of July 1st they have now reclassified themselves as a "bar only" (still have the same limited food - ha!) due to Utah's whacky alcohol laws. So no persons under 21 allowed any longer. Â Too bad as it was great casual place that was easy to bring under 21's . No more.So please - Management Please Listen - update and EXPAND your food menu - so many of us would come back!!! More...

The food, drinks, staff and ambiance at this restaurant tap house is awesome! Located in the hip 9th & 9th neighborhood, ELTH staff warmly welcomed my husband and me and seated us in the chic Danish-inspired dining area. With one wall all windows, the restaurant is light and inviting. Â Both sounded good so started the meal with the queso dip and house made chips AND the chorizo fries--INCREDIBLE!Followed with a baby Romain salad w/shaved vegetables, beets, hazelnuts & feta--WOW! Hub devoured their famous elk chili. Large plate was trout tacos, an inventive and truly delectable dish! Hub was VERY happy with his mouth-watering tap house burger. You can tell the difference with the fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, and she explained ELTH's commitment to excellence in food, drink, and service. First time there. Didn't know what to expect.- Nice outdoor seating area. Â - Friendly service. Â - Everything we ordered was very tasty (5 different menu items). All five were excellent. That doesn't happen that often, in my experience. Even at well reviewed restaurants it is possible, even likely, to have one dish that is not up to the same standard as other items. I see some reviews from earlier in the year, thought the food quality was not always consistent. But, It looks like they may have a handle on that now. East Liberty Tap House has filled a need for a good neighborhood pub style restaurant in Salt Lake City's 9th and 9th neighborhood.  Tucked tightly into the west end of that commercial district, there seems to be little off street parking available; luckily we found a spot on the adjacent street close by.  The  contemporary somewhat spartan decor is simple and functional, with plenty of outdoor seating on the lively front patio.  To avoid a 1/2 hour wait, our group of four took indoor seating in the front area  without a delay.  An array of beer and wine was offered, I chose a special brew being featured for Gay Pride Day, and later had a sour from a different local brewery.  My wife had a rose wine, which she said tasted like fizzy punch, not the dry complex rose one would expect in this post pink Zinfandel world.  The food choices are simple, mostly burgers, featuring lamb and vegetarian choices in addition to beef.  The fries were really tasty and the burgers quite good.  I had a lamb based sloppy joe, pretty good, but not fabulous.  I don't know how it could have been made better, it just didn't do the trick that night.  We didn't try the deserts so I'll have to save that for another time.  It was trendy and a bit on the pricey side, but, for a decent dining experience in a popular place,  that's to be expected.  I'd be happy to revisit the venue for a simple burger based dinner at a future date.
