We really like this place. The ample fig and cheese appetizer was delicious. My pasta and shrimp was tasty, and my husband enjoyed the pork medallions. We did not have dessert but on an earlier visit we had Creme brûlée which was terrific. It was a quiet Monday night, but tables are arranged so even if this small place had been full, your neighbors would not be in the conversation. This is a amazing place for breakfast. I order the Side of fruit of the day and a side of bacon and the bacon was perfectly cooked it had a nice taste. And the side of fruit was fresh and had a amazing taste. The only thing that occurred was a person in my group ordered an espresso. However they did not care for the taste of it, but they very kindly took it off the bill. All at all this is a great place to go for a quick coffee and a very good breakfast for a pretty good price. Our cruise ship stopped in Charleston. It was a rainy day and we had a walking tour. After the tour we passed by East Bay Meeting House and since I've been here a couple of years ago suggested we stop for something hot to drink. My companions agreed and in we went. It was as I remembered nice and quiet. We ordered Irish coffees. They came in big cups with Jameson, Baileys and real whipped cream. They were great. We arrived at a 5:30 Friday reservation to an empty house. We were treated like royalty. The food was ample and superb, and the owner chatted with us at length without being intrusive. If offers very good French fare at very reasonable prices. My sister loves High Tea and researches diligently before we travel to find the best location.  East Bay Meeting House did not disappoint.  Actually, she commented that it could be the BEST high tea she has ever had.  Everything was very tastefully arranged.  The sandwiches and pastries were delic.  We were so full and very glad that we hadn't eaten lunch beforehand.  What was the most impressive though was that the clotted cream was made the night before!  If you are looking for a high quality tea and a break from the Charleston heat, I would highly recommend the East Bay Meeting House.
